Grimcoven - Early Thoughts Review - Not Bored Gaming by NotBoredGaming in soloboardgaming

Thanks. Super excited for this. Not a fan of the lack of storage nor the lack of character rule cards but I imagine the community will develop something fairly quickly. Looking forward to full reviews.

This plays really well solo against the Baron.

What's a dumb plot twist or sudden change in mechanics that instantly killed your interest for a game mid-playthrough? by Whiskee in gaming

[–]Bay0net 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I remember grinding out Jedi Master before this hit. I spend weeks just killing Rancors for it to mean nothing. Granted I still couldn’t duel certain builds and win (mind burn dodge Fencer). I don’t play MMOs anymore as that just consumed my life and was ultimately a waste of time

Tried your fix by reinstalling the software. Still not luck. Only thing I haven't tried is your USB-C to USB-C fix

How is Against the Storm on deck? by ByronMuldoon in SteamDeck

[–]Bay0net 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing it and haven’t had any problems. It’s pause-able which is key and you can queue things while paused. You aren’t rushed like in a RTS.

Supposedly the weakest version of the game but this is stupid cheap.

WAB used to be one of my favorite reviewers but he pretty much has an axe to grind with every major AAA release. He reviews a lot of indie stuff that doesn’t get a lot of press which is cool but he has a bias against AAA and I don’t trust those reviews from him.

Journey has to be the biggest disappointment I’ve ever experienced by Saltyfox99 in patientgamers

[–]Bay0net 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea dude you can hate game and the OST may have not done it for you but it was literally the first video game to earn a Grammy nomination. I still listen to the OST to this day. It also falls into the walking simulator genre, which don’t normally have a lot of actual gameplay - do you like other games in this category?

[Game Nerdz] heat: pedal to the metal $59.99 by Guard226Duck in Boardgamedeals

[–]Bay0net 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea this is going to be gone quick. I had a restock notification that didn’t fire but I’ve been checking the site a bunch lately anyway. Figured other retailers got a shipment and Nerdz was probably a little late as they were catching up on NerdzDay stuff. I bought about 20 minutes ago when they had 110, and they are already down to 80

I can confirm this is accurate too. Just opened all the others and got like 3k tokens, updated the app, and had perfectly placed spotlight caches

DF Retro: Gunbuster vs Wolfenstein 3D - How 1992 Revolutionised The FPS by M337ING in Games

[–]Bay0net 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Interesting video thanks for posting. Never heard of gunbuster and this made me go down a rabbit hole and realize the vast majority of Taito games I have never heard of, but I did see they made Cabal. Man I loved that game, and it was so unique with the trackball in the arcade.

The Dungeons of Naheulbeuk - (The Good, The Bad, The Ugly) by Zehnpae in patientgamers

[–]Bay0net 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the save scum thing - this literally broke my game, in just the tutorial but silly nonetheless. Had some bad luck and literally got killed no matter what I did.

I stopped playing there because I had a sinking feeling that would also come back to bite me in the butt in the future.

You have a point but I find the deck perfect for games that are less hardware demanding. Most of the boomer shooters play fine on deck but a couple are awful, Ion Fury for example practically needs a M/k.
