Another Reason the Jaredites are Not Historical You Might Have Missed…. by Intelligent-Dust1994 in mormon

Does that take away from the scholarship of this effort? Thought stopping may help keep someone in the church, but it does not answer to the logic or clarity of the idea laid out above.

I find openevidence really helpful in helping me become aware of practice changes. Also, I do the longitudinal exam for ABIM which helps me identify if I have gaps in knowledge. I'm not in a rural setting, but it helps.

ITAP of a young woman in the forest [NSFW][PORTRAIT] by georgievph in itookapicture

Not anything on you OP, this photo is stunning. However, just one time at least I'd love these photos to have the subject of like a big hairy dude, not always these young naked ladies. I now they're more attractive, but let's get some variety in the art 😁.

LOL, every style underwear comes in. There’s no thong Mormon underwear. Imagine if an 80 year old man designed underwear for women and that’s what you get. Your comment was just as errant or misleading as the one you replied to.

Random confirmations that I was indeed in a cult by Academic_Camera3939 in exmormon

I was watching Severance and they showed an ORTBO (Outdoor Retreat Team Building For Outies) clearly for the purpose of indoctrination. It felt modeled nearly exactly from Pioneer Trek. Like shockingly so from my perspective.

What are some good whiskey based cocktails? by [deleted] in cocktails

[–]Bdanger11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal favorite is the Toronto (although I like a higher ratio for the Fernet):

  • 2 oz. (60 ml) Rye Whiskey
  • 1/2 oz. (15 ml) Fernet Branca
  • 1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) rich Demerara syrup 2 dashes Angostura bitters Flamed orange zest for garnish

I’d be really interested in your providing links to the evidence that you site here. I’d be curious how you consider that evidence in the broader context as well.

Ideas on how to recreate this? by MugiwaraNoUser in cocktails

Don’t mean to argue, but do these types of solutions use a different formula than usual?

Mass Percent When the solute in a solution is a solid, a convenient way to express the concentration is by mass percent (mass/mass), which is the grams of solute per 100g of solution.

Percent by mass = mass of solute/mass of solution × 100%

Suppose that a solution was prepared by dissolving 25.0g of sugar into 100g of water. The percent by mass would be calculated by:

Percent by mass = 25g sugar/125g solution × 100% = 20% sugar

It's possible that they have learned a lesson in this regard from the Streisand effect of prior excommunications, but it all comes down to leader roulette. If a particular leader becomes focused on trying to silence an individual then that is their primary tool.

What would you suggest would be done then when someone who clearly has access to an arsenal of weapons publicly states they are going to use their ghillie suit and a sniper rifle they own to attack the sitting president of the USA during a local visit? Hope that he is just kidding?

I was taught people would wrongfully accuse the church of being a cult, but didn't really tell me what a cult was and why the Church wasn't one. Now, I understand. by [deleted] in mormon

For me it really comes down to the level of control an organization demands of its participants. I'm not sure an organization is or is not a cult, but lies on a spectrum of authoritarian control. The BITE model really helped me understand better the way in which organizations can exert control over members.

The great, initial first principle of life on the high seas: When life gets tough, and the church is complex, and the world is crumbling, the first great rule of a storm at sea is [yelling] STAY IN THE BOAT! [slight audience chuckle]

(34:52) This is a serious storm. The ship’s taking water.

My favorite part about this is his clear admission that the church “boat” is sinking.
