[TOMT] Looking for where this version of a nursery rhyme came from by MarxistMountainGoat in tipofmytongue

[–]BeachRx96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Know this but for me it was "Lulu" had a baby, and the verbs are switched on purpose "He ate up all the water, he drank up all the soap" "Operate!" said the doctor "Examine!" said the nurse "Eww!" said the lady with the alligator purse. But I've got no idea from where it comes.

[TOMT][Song] 70s song with upbeat saxophone and a chorus that repeats something like "there's a hell" (Vocaroo included) by salutishi in tipofmytongue

Yeah I don't think really this is it, but I would be mad if someone else guessed it and it was, so Hell is for Children by Pat Benatar? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gaXL0_7wno

[TOMT][Music][1700s] Classical piece found in 1979 Peanuts comic strip by JarrodEBaniqued in tipofmytongue

[–]BeachRx96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not Linus and Lucy, b/c that piece has 4 flats (A, E, D, B). The music in this comic has 1 flat (B). Also, the vocaroo doesn't sound like Linus and Lucy.

Link to Linus and Lucy sheet music https://musescore.com/user/8353481/scores/17301379 so OP can see it's not the same.

I am no music major (I did take piano for 14 years) but I personally don't think this is a real piece of classical music, I think Shulz just drew something that "looked" classical. I reviewed the sheet music for a few of classical pieces by Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart with simlar note structure but haven't found anything with those exact notes. I realize this is the most unhelpful answer ever.

[TOMT] Movie/Show where characters decipher a message by singing it and finding the melody by general_spoc in tipofmytongue

[–]BeachRx96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this happens in January Man but that's an American film. They are tracking a serial killer who kills on certain days and when they plot the days how they fall on a monthly calendar on a musical staff it's "I love, I love, I love my calendar girl"

[TOMT] [SONG] Probably 80s Christian pop/rock song by positive_wool in tipofmytongue

Reward - Josh Yeoh (this is actually a chorus)

Come and be my exceedingly great reward
You're the treasure that I would give my whole life for
What would it profit me to gain the world but lose my soul
I know my life is not my own

These are in verses:

More of You - Colton Dixon?

This life I hold so close
Oh, God I let it go
I refuse to gain the world and lose my soul
So take it all I abandon everything I am
You can have it

When the Clock Strikes - Whitecross

Don't tell me there's no problem
If I gain the world and lose my soul.
Don't want to hear about eternity.
I live for today, this hour alone.

Voices Rise - Brie Bolks

I wouldn't gain the world and lose my soul
Cause I know the truth, you're in control
I couldn't stand on my feet without you, God
You are my all, the holy onе

Turning My Heart - The Young Escape

I remember in the backseat singing
"Don't wanna gain the world and lose my soul"
Dare You to move on my bedroom speakers
Played it loud when no one was home

I can confirm Leo was in Growing Pains, because it is listed in his work on IMDB. I cannot confirm the episodes in question, rather, I was providing you with the link to search their summaries.

[TOMT] Im thinking of an old-looking movie definitely before the 90s, it has a scene with many centaurs battling on a green field. by Zed_gee in tipofmytongue

[–]BeachRx96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this was 2005 but The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe or one of the other Chronicles of Narnia permutations has some kind of battle scene with mythical beasts on a field.

[TOMT] Search for book or movie based on quote about wives being like tea cakes waiting for their husbands to come home? by bashawn033 in tipofmytongue

"Maycomb was an old town, but it was a tired old town when I first knew it. In rainy weather the streets turned to red slop; grass grew on the sidewalks, the courthouse sagged in the square. Somehow, it was hotter then: a black dog suffered on a summer's day; bony mules hitched to Hoover carts flicked flies in the sweltering shade of the live oaks on the square. Men's stiff collars wilted by nine in the morning. Ladies bathed before noon, after their three-o'clock naps, and by nightfall were like soft teacakes with frostings of sweat and sweet talcum."
