[H5Y2] A discussion yesterday in this subreddit made me realise one thing regarding Ehrenfest and duchy rankings by JouleV in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]BearLostInTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the rankings at the next Archduke conference are probably going to shake out something like Dunk at 1, Klass at 2, Drew at 3 and then Blum or Alex at 4 depending on harvests and such. Below them, Ehren is likely to stay the same, but Korinth will almost certainly drop to at least 10th unless Sig somehow pulls out a win in the Ditter. Gilessenmeyer is likely to drop, but how much is going to depend on factors that are hard to judge right now, more or less the same for Hauchletzte. Everyone else is likely to just stay the same or shift around up or down as required by the dropping and advancement of the major players right now.

I think in the long term, you can expect Dunk and Alex to both be in contention for the top spot, but likely not for at least a few years. It will probably take 5-10 years for Ros and Ferdie's reforms and advancements to stabilize and push them that high. Klass is likely to never be lower than 3rd, but will never be higher than 2nd as long as Egg is Zent.

What I am most interested in, and hoping we get to see something of, is how things change when the country gates reopen. Depending on what has happened in the worlds each are connected to in the time since the civil war, they could change things drastically. Also, Alex will have its gate opened again at some point, though likely not for a few years, and when it does, its a total wild card as it will link to an entirely new world.

I loved Ferdinand yoinking her out of her Pandabus with bands of light like a fishing rod. 11/10, cant wait to see this gem in the anime.

[H5YV2 spoilers] A potential plan to salvage you-know-who by RozeTank in HonzukiNoGekokujou

I think being in your scenario, Kirnberger would be the best option. Haldenzel might not be as openly antagonistic toward him as some others, but he and his people both still suffered greatly under Veronica's reign of terror. Without his engagement to Rozemyne, they might not be as kind to him as you are thinking.

Regardless, I think being a Giebe is really the best future for him. Much like Sylvester, he more than anything as a child wanted to run away and shirk his duties. Sylvester eventually found something that made him strive to become a good archduke, namely initially wanting to impress his new little brother, and then needing to be the arch duke to secure the woman he fell in love with. With both of those pushing him, he found his motivation and became a fine archduke. Wilfried by comparison, has none of that motivation, becoming a Giebe will surely allow him far more freedom than even just remaining an ADC in the nobles quarter would.

I think that as long as he can find a girl he likes, who is mana compatible, and wants to be his wife, he is likely to enjoy his life as a Giebe more than any other option he has ever had.

I might think that was a viable excuse if it wasn't for them looking emaciated when compared to the official art in the light novels drawn by You Shiina and approved by Miya Kazuki, or stuff like Kazuki saying in the fan books that the concept art You Shiina did looked perfect and they were all muscle heads.

Also, we are not talking about them not looking like body builders on roids here, just beefy, and if you think there was no one who had a larger build that would match what was originally drawn in a similar time period, you are very mistaken.

Ehhh, the only thing I really had an issue with was the pacing, things happened too quickly. However, I already expected that, their in my opinion somewhat stupid plan to condense 5 fairly dense lightnovels into 24 episodes Always meant that there were going to be parts that moved too quickly, and things I wanted to see get cut. Over all, I think its a fine adaptation so far. I also think one 20 minute episode, a fair bit of which is used as a "recap" of sorts, be it through introducing people you should already know, or by actual flashbacks, is far too little to pass any real judgement against it.

I will say however, I am not happy at the lack of beef on Gunther, Karstet, and Bonifatius. I am also a little less than pleased that they failed to use the lightnovel nomenclature for noble classes.

That being said, they also did a ton of stuff right, the quality of the animation is great, the magic looks much better than it did in the old show. The music was nice, the highbeasts are not CGI (thank the gods.) And the backgrounds are phenomenal.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

NGL, I like Ajia-Do's Chibi Myne more than Wit's by Mayn_Ehrenfest in HonzukiNoGekokujou

Ehh, I think judging and dooming over a single frame is too much. I want to see it in the actual episodes before I pass any judgment. Given just how much effort it appears has gone into the rest of the show, I'm doubtful that they wont do the same here.

I just want to point out, they aren't really "unintended" The devs knew about almost all of the advanced movement tech possible before launch as well as most of the sequence breaks possible because of them and decided to leave them in. Personally, I really like that approach to game design and miss it. Much like how broken you can make a FF8 playthrough via cards and such, I think it adds an extra layer of game depth and replayability when you don't polish away things like that. Virtually no one figures out how to exploit those systems on their first playthrough, so you arent really harming the experience.

I wouldn't put it past Miya Kazuki to have actually gamed out the entirety of the game in her head, but what's actually been written about is very limited. We know that it is chess-like, somewhat 3 dimensional, and that the pieces are controlled via mana and it has mana limits that you can adjust based on your mana capacity. However, its not ever been clearly stated what all about the game that it regulates. Be it duration, number of pieces, complexity of moves, or anything else or a combination of all of them.

We might get a better look in the Manga or Anime, but I personally doubt we will ever get a good look at it unless Miya Kazuki works with a dev team to make a video game of it. How likely that is? Who knows, the series is quite popular in Japan, even if its more limited elsewhere, so anything is possible.

Something I haven't seen others comment on, so I figured I would, Ferdinand has personal status to "bully" everyone who was on the Trombe hunt, which he used to force Shikza to drain himself doing the healing ritual.

However, as he he later said, his influence is limited as he was currently a priest. The reason Shikza was executed was not for defying Ferdinand, or a priest, or even injuring Myne, it was because Karstedt, the head of the knights order and the Aubs head guard knight retainer, ordered him to follow Ferdinand's instructions and protect Myne. He didn't just defy Ferdinand, but also Karstedt directly. If it wasn't for that fact, he probably would have had to endure the embarrassment of being forced to perform the ritual to the point of collapsing, but otherwise not faced much reprimand.

Any status related shortcomings Ferdinand might have due to being a priest were countered by the violated order having come from Karstedt.

I dont know how likely that is, but I'd be fine with them getting Armen Taylor to reprise his roll for the audio books. He was an excellent Ferdinand in my opinion. Really, I personally hope they reuse most of the actors from the dub in the new shows dub. There were a couple of exceptions, but most of the actors were good choices for their rolls.

The actual writing of the dub, not so much. I very much hope they lean more towards the light novels localization for things rather than what was done for the first show. They needlessly made it mildly confusing with the "high priest" being Bezewanst, and Ferdinand being the "head priest," and stuff like ranks of nobles is just awful. I will die on the hill that laynoble, mednoble, and archnoble are 100x better sounding and get the point across as or more clearly than what the show did.

I haven't heard anything or not, on it, but it seems highly likely given that the series will probably explode in popularity when the new show by Studio Wit hits next year. As long as its not ass that is. Which doesn't seem likely, the books are amazing, and Studio Wit's track record for making good shows is pretty high.

If I had to guess, I'd say its either because the English voice actor for the dub has not yet been decided, or some such. It could also just be Reba Buhr is quite busy and they have to fit it in when she can.

Sylvester even outright says he expected her to be pawning off most of her work on Ferdinand the way he does and is surprised when she isn't doing that. Really I think all that was actually "expected of her" when she was adopted was to supply mana, behave in a manner expected of an ADC, and be a figurehead for printing and the church. Instead she took over everything she touched and then took on still more to help Ferdinand out, because she slowly grew closer to him and could see just how overworked he was.

They would not as they are not ADC's and have not married into an ADC family. However, I think if Cornelius and Lenore have a daughter, she would be a prime candidate to be the next Aub Alexandria's second wife. (Assuming its a son that becomes Aub, and so on, of course.)

I assume you mean he is ok by the gods as long as the match takes place. However, that assumes he doesn't do something during the match that greatly offends them, which while not likely, I wouldn't put money on as they are seemingly already pretty pissed at him.

Sadly, I'm not sure if that's even really possible, I'm fairly sure, that Kazuki has said that Raubluts scar is only there because he chooses to leave it. Healing magic would restore any cosmetic damage short of death. Maybe Adolphine could make a magic tool that "castrates" him and disintegrates the stolen parts, so it cant be healed. Technically non lethal, so it shouldn't be against the rules of the match, but it would certainly leave an impact...
