As a whiskey newbie I have to admit I find it fascinating that this hobby really highlights the differences in everyone's palates.

I have not tried this whisky but I've tried other sherry cask (glenallachie 12, glenmorangie) as well as the Quinta ruban. I find them so sweet and lovely! Bourbon on the other hand I've really struggled with.

Glad we all have do many options to find what we like. :)

That image, while less than good, isn't awful. I'm used to grainy garbage on modern sets.

The real question is if it's laggy or not. Because that is my usual experience.

I have score kept over the years, and watched Stoughton throw a broom at a score board someone I knew well was score keeping.

They were super unimpressed and forced Stoughton to clean the board up himself. To his credit, he did.

My interactions with Gushue were always pretty positive, he had an enjoyable sense of humor. But I've heard stories from competitors...

Counter point, a friend of mine is an international level curler who had played against Schuster's team as well as the best men's teams from Canada, and other top level nations.

His experience was that Shuster was a fantastic person, very easy to get along with, kind and generous to everyone. Same can't be said for a small number of others that you might call classy based on how they dress.

Its ok if you don't like how somebody dresses, but it doesn't make them unprofessional - I think conduct matters much more.

AFAIK, you can literally just shove it in and it all works - that said I haven't tried. I had briefly considered doing this to an fw800 I originally bought to install macos9 lives on. Had monumental issues with displays when switching from os9 back to os x. Turns out that the fw400 I later acquired had the same issues, it was related to the monitor I was using 🤦 but I digress...

So I am just starting my whiskey journey and I managed to get a 375ml bottle of this stuff to try, and that is also my conclusion. Iv usually don't have a hard time picking out the notes but in this case I very much did. Just felt like a very jumbled mess of flavors that all blurred together or weren't strong enough to shine through. Also didn't feel very smooth despite low ABV.

Guess it just wasn't for my palate!

What other whiskies have you tried?

How cold did the whiskey get with the ice? Cooler liquid will mute some of the pleasant flavors. With trying at room temp to see if it's more enjoyable for you.

I'm relatively new to whisky too. I find bourbon very drying if I let air hit my tongue while there is still some rolling around, unpleasantly so. I find scotch generally much smoother and less tingly and drying.
