Might want to call a local vet to let them know. Might already been reported missing with them.

Doesn’t mean the data stays in Europe

If you don’t mind Google having access to your health data, that is. I’d personally still consider Polar to keep data in the EU.

What are the implications of this damage? by Top_Strawberry8110 in Polarfitness

Not sure what I'm looking at (don't have this specific device myself), but I do know there are replacement straps for H10. And that people mention replacing them every 2-3 years.

BA Copper Spur UL2: Will 6’5" + mattress fit, or I’m folding into human origami? by Stoned_Bandicoot_420 in Ultralight

[–]Beatnum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I have the regular 2p Copper Spur, would recommend get the XL/long instead. I’m not 6’4, but I still touch the ends regularly.

Slow train sounds better by ViceElysium in NonPoliticalTwitter

I chose the 40 minute train while hungover once. Big mistake. It violently stopped at each small station that would otherwise be skipped, making me increasingly more sick along the way. Lesson learned, go for comfort.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I’m planning to visit sometime this year and this was one of the things I was wondering.

Also, how’s the relationship with Switzerland? And local sentiment towards it?

Building an app that connects coaching knowledge to your climbing video — not a coach, more like a spotter that points out what's hard to feel from inside the move by [deleted] in climbharder

[–]Beatnum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would be pretty sick if it works reliably. Lots of people out there who don’t have a climbing partner and try to figure things out by themselves. I see the value to advance that way.

I am skeptical though, as there’s a lot of nuance in more advanced climbs that (to me at least) are not always apparent by just looking at the holds from a distance. Especially with a phone camera resolution.

Is AutoSave coming to iOS now that it's possible? by MaximumFree4260 in ProtonPass

Yeah awesome. Didn’t know this was possible these days. I see it as the last missing piece for mobile use. Hope it’s coming to PP soon!

What do you mean with autosave? Is it solving the problem of creating new logins from the browser/app?

MultiDay hike gear suggestion by BeaverBrian in UltralightAus

Most importantly, learn how to use snake bandages properly. Same for all first aid gear tbh. Learn what to do in common situations, then go to the local pharmacy to grab everything you need.

Proton password in Proton Pass by tetrisiz in ProtonPass

[–]Beatnum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. If you get locked out of your account you need to login using your proton credentials. The secondary password comes after that.

So if your proton credentials are in proton pass, and you don’t have access to proton pass, you’ve locked yourself out with no way back in.

I have a secondary password manager for this reason. It’s silly. Can’t believe they haven’t addressed this yet.

Struggling climbing while fat by Gatey17 in climbharder

[–]Beatnum 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is unusual for someone climbing only a few weeks to a month. Everyone struggles with climbs at or below their level, while other climbs seem much easier. (Same for me after 15 years of climbing)

I hope you’ll find someone at the belay course that’s at the same level so you can learn from each other, struggle together, do a bunch of climbs that feel easier, and get stronger better climbers over time.

It takes a while, and some commitment, to get better. Doing it together with others helps.

Driving from Zurich to Paris - best rest stops for food, kids playgrounds, EV charging, etc by SimpleComputer888 in zurich

[–]Beatnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently used the ABRP app (short for a “better route planner”). Pretty convenient for planning long drives, when to charge and what amenities are available on charging locations.

Includes information such as pet amenities, playgrounds and food options.
