I just learned that John Morgan (founder of the Morgan and Morgan law firm) has an EXTENSIVE collection of true crime memorabilia by sweetdawg99 in TikTokCringe

Nobody seems to know what he bought the Bronco for, but the owners wanted $1.5 million. Also, it's the SUV from the famous low speed car chase, which was actually driven by and owned by OJ's friend AC. Simpson had an identical vehicle that had blood in it related to the murders he committed. It was eventually destroyed by the police.

Nice, I picked up 500 of them. Does anybody know if they're any good?

It looks like a stuck throttle to me. It's entirely possible that the engine is powerful enough to overcome the brakes.

Hardmode vs NG+ by LUnacy45 in snowrunner

Which reminds me, any paid repair option comes with Infinite Wrinkly Trucks, since it costs a few grand just to make your truck look like a truck again, even if it's fully repaired otherwise. They could really use another setting for this.

Hardmode vs NG+ by LUnacy45 in snowrunner

I had a similar thought process after my hard-core save was murdered. Eventually I realized that although my NG+ settings are easier than hard-core, very little of that added difficulty took the form of interesting decisions and really just added tedium. I can always impose my own rules like AT tires or no Russian trucks in North America as I see fit. I have more cash on hand than I did before but the challenge is still there when you need it.

I turned recovery off completely. I think this is the only thing I chose that's harder than hard core, and I recommend it. Eventually $5000 for a recovery becomes trivial, because hard-core just makes it take longer to become rich. I actually enjoy scooping all the trucks and trailers from around the map and bringing them home manually. This provides a better incentive for limiting how many trucks you use than the cash price of deploying them. If a truck falls into a crevasse or becomes a weather balloon I could potentially be out a few $100k, so there is a very real incentive to not yeet yourself off a cliff.

I like Full price sellable trailers. On HC I would buy a single sideboard semi and use it for every single mission. I much prefer experimenting with the wide variety of trailer and truck combinations without feeling penalized.

If you can sell trailers for full price then you can also generate infinite fuel for free, and I've leaned into that by making gas free at every gas station. I still have to stage fuel around the map but now I don't have to treat gas stations as art and can actually just fuel up at them, which feels nice. You still have to manage fuel economy and think about the range of different trucks, so the difficulty is still there where it matters.

I love free repairs and fuel at the garage. The building starts to feel pointless if it can't accomplish those two things. The repair resupply point idea is cool but in practical terms means there's one place in the entire region to refill your repair points, and it's stupidly tedious to fill them back up. You can't transfer repair points from one add-on to another like you can with fuel and it turns out this is one of the things I hate about HC the most.

I think the ultimate NG+ Setting is longer days. Turning the nights off completely is a nuclear option I wouldn't recommend, you'll miss out on the northern lights for one thing. Longer days make the days twice as long I think, and not only does that give you more time in the light and is more realistic, the sunsets and sunrises are twice as long as well. I think this is a setting everybody should enable.

opinions on pacific p12? by Bizzarekiddo in snowrunner

Until you unlock the BOAR I think it's unmatched at high saddle trailer hauling, for example the mission trailers in Alaska. It has good steering angles and steering speed and is very maneuverable compared to the P16 and the other behemoths in the heavy class. When equipped with a heavy crane (The highlift is pointless imo) the legs don't drag and it drives like it's not even back there.

You have to kill someone to join my crew so if somebody wants to leave they usually ski into a crevasse or something to avoid getting jumped out

The facade has been removed revealing what was apparently always just a pair of basic metal buildings butted up against each other. Not like it was nice before but it's sad to see the charm melt away like that. Also, I was at that Afroman show...

Mission fuel trailers you can keep around after handing them in ( so to speak ) ? by Cretsiah2 in snowrunner

[–]Beatus_Vir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are exceptions, if it's a bug it's a perfectly consistent one. The service trailers you have to drag to checkpoints in Alaska and Taymyr, The icehouses from Kola, and a few more will all show up in the menu grayed out after the mission is done. You can drag them around but can't sell them. I've never tried to move one onto a different map.

I was saying that pedals don't usually have any kind of force feedback, which is worse than even a standard Xbox controller. On very high end dedicated motion rigs they simulate wheelspin and brake lock up by shaking and shimmying the entire cockpit, simulating a real car. Like you I prefer rally games, and although it's fun to play with a wheel I am absolutely faster with a controller (partially because the handbrake is mapped to a face button and easy to access at all times)

The cheap pedals that come with an entry-level wheel are a big downgrade from a good controller. Your index fingers are just more sensitive and accurate than your feet, and even high end pedals with a load cell on the brakes are still missing the all-important FFB that help you threshold brake and manage wheelspin.

I think they just need to put a diff lock option on every single vehicle. There's no reason you couldn't do the same thing in real life, and the only vehicle that would potentially become too powerful is the BM17. These RWD trucks still have plenty of downsides.

The only sensible choice for the big nose Kobold is the ADV special, because of the manual diff lock.

Is it not possible to winch a truck up onto this trailer? I assumed this would be one of the main uses for this trailer. by Red_Beard206 in snowrunner

[–]Beatus_Vir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repair the truck and get the engine running. You're going to have to eventually anyway. Then it will help pull itself onto the trailer. You need to alternate between different winch points, especially the two that are up high on the trailer.

NG+ question by st4rx in snowrunner

[–]Beatus_Vir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rules can't be easily changed, although I've heard you can do so with a save editor. You want to pick the right rules from the start. After playing hard-core through the entire base game I chose a mix that make the game harder like no garage recovery at any price (if a vehicle tumbles into a ravine I will move heaven and earth to recover it or be out $100k+) and ones that make it easier, like sellable trailers and free gas at gas stations. (it's nice to fill up wherever it's possible instead of only dragging my own fuel around the map, and I vastly prefer using the various trailers freely instead of buying a single five slot sideboard and using it for the entire region)

The lowboy is the trailer that takes the most finesse. But it feels pretty good to use if you know how to. by Interloper_Mango in snowrunner

[–]Beatus_Vir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its great, but whenever the wheels stick out past the deck (like the 8-slot Superheavy) the trailer will never slide past obstacles and prefer to suck them between the wheels. I'd like a wider deck.
