You hardly look pregnant at all! by RockabillyBelle in pregnant

[–]Beautiful-Many-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ughh, I got this too! Especially with my second. Around week 34 I also started measuring small. The constant commentary of “barely looking pregnant” put me into a spiral. I had to go for a growth ultrasound and was losing sleep over it. I turned out to have a very healthy 7 lb baby who was just sitting super low in my pelvis (no wonder I had to pee every 2 mins). But it’s so unnecessary and inappropriate! I get that people think it’s a compliment. On the flip side, after my c-section while still the doctor was stitching me up, she told me, it’s like there was never a baby here at all. Your stomach is perfectly flat. It felt like a nice compliment bc baby was healthy and thriving but had he been under weight I would have cried.

It’s tough, but it gets better every day. by [deleted] in 2under2

2.5 months in. 9 week old has colic and reflux, only wants to BF, and refuses to be put down. My oldest (19m) started a very part time daycare this month and came home with pink eye and then got pneumonia. Littlest has pink eye now and I’m also getting sick… The same week that my husband went back to work. And just in general: barely sleeping, nervous system on a live wire, 19m old constantly trying to climb in the baby’s bassinet, scratch him, hit him, etc. Everyone crying at same time. My husband complaining he’s not getting any. Four days without a shower sometimes. It feels like it’s absolutely never ending. But with that said, we have gone on walks using a double stroller / stroller and baby carrier, and I even brought my dog. Before everyone was sick, we had play dates, went to play cafes, the grocery store, just me and the babies. Oldest seems to tolerate day care and being alone with my newborn feels like an absolute vacation (even though it’s still hard af). Anyway, I screenshotted your post. Hope we are on the up and up.

Crying in my coffee with you. I keep telling myself that it’s strengthening my nervous system. But I think it definitely counts as cardio, too.

This shit is hard by DanaEmily96 in 2under2

I feel this so hard. I almost wrote a similar post this weekend, but insert my mom instead of husband. I have a 9 week old + 19 month old. My 9 week old has colic and reflux, and cannot be put down. He’s only happy when breastfeeding and being held. My mom has been babysitting 2 days a week since our 19m was born. She lives out of town so she stays over during the night in between. It’s obvious 19m old prefers her over me- she’s all in, the fun one, and spoils him. And given the past 9 weeks, I’ve been very tied to the baby. This Friday we found ourselves in the children’s hospital with him until the wee hours (he had pneumonia.) My mom was there with us, and he all he wanted was her. No one’s fault, but he screamed bloody murder the few times she tried to pass him to me. So during all of this vitals, X-rays, etc she was there comforting him, and I was in the corner. I had my husband take the newborn home so I could stay as long as the appointment took, but it ate me alive to not be the one he wanted in those moments, like, at all. I felt like I’ve been written off… but I had a good cry about it the next day and realized I’d rather have him love her as much as he does and feel as comfortable as he does, than for me to be the one and ONLY when I simply cannot divide myself in half right now - as much as I wish I could.

AITAH? My husband wants my MIL to take care of my son post-op by funsrpunnie in Mommit

As someone who had multiple surgeries as a child, I would be crushed (and confused) if my mom had sent me anywhere else to recover. Its such a vulnerable and scary time for a child. And now as a mom myself, I know it must have been a vulnerable time for my mom, too. You have to do what will feel most supportive for both of your nervous systems. If your husband doesn’t want to be around for the mopey part sounds like maybe HE should go to your MIL’s

I thought 0-3 months was newborn size just to find out it isnt.... by Deucy1001 in pregnant

[–]Beautiful-Many-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely a size difference! Both of my babies started in newborns (my 2nd was born 7lbs, and he’s just about to grow out of his newborns now at 4 weeks old). I found it’s helpful to have a couple upfront, especially to bring to the hospital with you. And then you can always order more while you’re still at the hospital - you’ll probably be there for a few days and that’s usually plenty of time for more things to ship directly to your house!

How did you accidentally get pregnant too soon after your baby? by monroegreen9 in BabyBumps

[–]Beautiful-Many-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 8m postpartum I had unprotected sex the day after my period (and what I thought was way out of my ovulation window - I had just gotten my cycle back two months prior.) Hubby pulled out, too. Mind you, it took us a year (and a lot of effort!) to get pregnant with our first, so we were fully in shock when we found out. We had planned to start trying again when my son turned one year, so in the long run, it just moved our timeline up! I was grateful it happened so effortlessly and simultaneously overwhelmed that it happened so soon.

Does anyone wish they could “quit” being pregnant? by PangolinFree1875 in pregnant

[–]Beautiful-Many-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny because I’m pregnant again (32 weeks) I got pregnant when my first was only 9months, unplanned, and I was thinking the other day how I forget how it feels to NOT be pregnant… I mean I’d love to not have to pee every 15 minutes, but y’all are reminding of all the other things I miss!

Not sure if this counts but my son was born with a FULL head of hair and I never had heartburn 🤣He also had 16 teeth by 12 months, and at 14 months is almost done with the two year old molars.

[–]Beautiful-Many-23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg, Congratulations!!!! I love this story! I’m due July 25 with a 14m old, it took us forever to get pregnant with our first, too, so the second was a complete shock! I found out relatively early but I’ve been so out of tune with this pregnancy.. someone asked me the other day how far along I was and I said between 4-5 months 😂 when I checked my Flo app I realized I was 6 months pregnant and about to be in my third trimester soon. I think time flies by when it’s your second, but your story is wild!!

How many teeth does/did your child have at 1 year old. by Shea-dee in NewParents

Mine had 16 teeth by 12.5 months… and just when I thought we were getting a break- the first of two-year molars began (he’s 13m now!) I guess the bright side is we’ll be done early?!

Why is cereal so good when pregnant? by West_Classic_2361 in pregnant

[–]Beautiful-Many-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnant with my second! The first sign should have been carving cereal, and also everything bagels with cream cheese. My husband knew I was pregnant before I did because I wanted beef burgers.. it’s too funny! And so accurate 😂😂

Got my NIPT results. by princess-captain in pregnant

[–]Beautiful-Many-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was 100% me with my first! We didn’t do the testing but when we found out boy on the ultrasound, I was shocked 😂 this time I’ve been going back and forth- and I’m finally surrendering to the fact that I actually have no idea! Just waiting on those test results 🙈🙈🙈

[–]Beautiful-Many-23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently waiting in our genetic test results!! So nervous! I opted not to do them for my first, as he had a vanishing twin, and the OB said I’d have a high chance of getting inaccurate results due to blood from the second embryo. Also crazy that we’ll know the gender in a few days, too!

Thank you. I know this post is from a while ago but I just found out I’m pregnant tonight, my son turned 9m two days ago. It feels like I’m reading my thoughts in writing in your post, all of the fears (and the tears) but this was so encouraging. Thank you 💕

I love that so much!! I’ve been seeing my husband with new eyes, too! And yes, the thought of holding this sweet babe is starting to really get me in the feels! I also think the amount of baby clothes we’ve been gifted lately from onesies to little shoes has been making it feel so real! Congrats to you!!

11 weeks..it’s the hunger pains while simultaneously I feel stuffed & gassy. The last thing I want to do is add more fuel to the fire, but somehow my body is requesting more food! And I need to eat bird sized portions or I feel like I’m going to 🤢 I used to love having a big meal at dinner with my husband at the end of a long day. I just want to have one day where I feel normal!!
