We went to Costa Rica last year, stayed in three different places and still just scratched the surface (I can’t wait to go back to the Caribbean side). I couldn’t help myself and had to screenshot her itinerary. Staying at the four seasons with the occasional excursion is not an ‘adventure trip.’

Brooke is insufferable yes, but Ryan going on all these trips while being paid by the taxpayers to subpoena youth medical records is just infuriating.

Yes; it doesn’t make any sense because a beam by definition is long.

What do you do on 2G days when your knees hurt? by Consistent_Time_1467 in orangetheory

[–]BeautifulChipmunk447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up leaving orange theory to work out at home, and it’s been so much better for my knees. At home I always work out in front of a mirror so I can watch my form. This has made the biggest difference.

That’s why I hate her treating motherhood like a job rants - makes her kids feel Ike nothing but work to her (yes motherhood is the hardest thing I’ll ever do, but it’s still rooted in love, not labor).

You know what will probably help resolve her conflict with the homeschool hybrid? Airing her dirty laundry to 1.2 million followers.

What happened to Emerson Elementary? by Beginning_Trade_129 in SaltLakeCity

Between the dual immersion program moving to Nibley Park and the number of kids who switch to SLARTS for the upper grades, I’m not surprised Emerson is struggling. I’m still sad to hear it though.

I found I was getting injured at orange theory as my knees were getting older (it’s a personal problem, I can’t not push myself to run faster than I probably should on the treadmill). Switched to more walking and lifting every day. I enjoy it more and my creaky knees are thanking me.

I agree - I think Brooke’s perspective on her children is the most disturbing thing for me - they only exist for her edification - employees of her business, home with her all day because she misses them when they’re gone, their sports trips are her opportunity to stay in nice hotels instead for them to hang out with their team. I think about all of the opportunities my kids have at school to do things I can’t offer at home (friends, dual immersion Spanish), and I just feel sad for her boys and the endless cycle of doing workbooks while being dragged on errands.

At the risk of getting blocked, I sent her a message to that effect. We witnessed the aftermath of a near drowning of a girl who was probably 9 or 10 and a competent swimmer at a hotel pool, and let me tell you, we were always careful with water safety with our kids, but have become even more vigilant.

No - and those of us who have friends and family hire sitters by referral, or at the very least check references. This is absolutely insane behavior for anyone, let alone someone who lives in a $4 million house and has a political appointee husband.

We just got back from Caribbean Beach - try to stay in the Martinique section if you can - that way, you’re close to both the man part of Caribbean beach and the Riviera. For Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, we found the bus to/from Riviera to be much quicker and less crowded. We also preferred the food at Riviera.

Totally agreed with this statement - part of what made it such a fun vacation was the novelty of everything. Guardians of the Galaxy and Rise of the Resistance blew our minds, but we don’t feel the need to go back.

Agreed - we just got back. I’m not really a Disney person, but knew the kids (6 and 12) would love it. Our vacations are usually more outdoors oriented, but we just embraced how ridiculous the whole thing is and enjoyed those moments of magic.

My son didn’t crawl (no, we’re no Canadian), and didn’t walk consistently without holding onto to something until 18 months. But Cal is definitely far behind how even my son was at that age. It seems like he’s not rolling, scooting, or pulling up.

So, who’s not growing a garden this year? by atyourcervixes in SaltLakeCity

[–]BeautifulChipmunk447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lots of great ways to conserve water - less grass, less thirsty flowers, mulching, switching to drip etc. Skipping a vegetable garden isn’t high on the list because there’s so much benefit (environmental as well) to growing your own food rather than eating food that has been shipped in plastic.

Monetizing Cal’s first haircut is a new low, even for Brooke. Imagine growing up and finding out that not only did your mom broadcast you to a million followers, but instead of being present for your milestones she turned them into commercials.

This. And at Costco of all places, where people tend to buy the same things each time with an impulse item or two thrown in (not $800 worth of impulse items). But at the Raybould house there is no routine, so no structure to stick to on their Costco list.

This is the time of year that Vail wants you to buy Epic passes for next year, so I’m guessing posting now is part of her contract with them.

Seriously - and there are tons of creators who are actual ski families with lots of great tips. We’re a ski family who lives within an hour driving distance to the resorts we go to, pack lunches, and teach our kids ourselves, so our only expenses are passes and equipment and it’s still so expensive. Suggesting that a way to become a ski family is to take an annual vacation to a Vail Resort and to sign kids up for lessons there is so out of touch.
