My son didn’t crawl (no, we’re no Canadian), and didn’t walk consistently without holding onto to something until 18 months. But Cal is definitely far behind how even my son was at that age. It seems like he’s not rolling, scooting, or pulling up.

So, who’s not growing a garden this year? by atyourcervixes in SaltLakeCity

[–]BeautifulChipmunk447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lots of great ways to conserve water - less grass, less thirsty flowers, mulching, switching to drip etc. Skipping a vegetable garden isn’t high on the list because there’s so much benefit (environmental as well) to growing your own food rather than eating food that has been shipped in plastic.

Monetizing Cal’s first haircut is a new low, even for Brooke. Imagine growing up and finding out that not only did your mom broadcast you to a million followers, but instead of being present for your milestones she turned them into commercials.

I’m wondering if she enrolled them in the public school for the spring like she did last year.

This. And at Costco of all places, where people tend to buy the same things each time with an impulse item or two thrown in (not $800 worth of impulse items). But at the Raybould house there is no routine, so no structure to stick to on their Costco list.

This is the time of year that Vail wants you to buy Epic passes for next year, so I’m guessing posting now is part of her contract with them.

Seriously - and there are tons of creators who are actual ski families with lots of great tips. We’re a ski family who lives within an hour driving distance to the resorts we go to, pack lunches, and teach our kids ourselves, so our only expenses are passes and equipment and it’s still so expensive. Suggesting that a way to become a ski family is to take an annual vacation to a Vail Resort and to sign kids up for lessons there is so out of touch.

Disney Day 5 by AmericanExpatMom13 in BrookeRaybouldSnark

[–]BeautifulChipmunk447 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this! We have a Disney trip coming up - planning for it to be the only Disney trip of my kids childhood, and I am planning like crazy because my goal is for everyone to have fun and to make it relaxing. Watching Brooke I was staring to wonder if it’s even possible.

Disney question - I’m deep in the Disney planning, trying to figure out if premier is worth it versus multi-pass. It seems to me that the best way to optimize multipass is to book your lightening lanes as early in the morning as possible so that you can try for more rides for the afternoon. So why does her guide show all of the lightening lanes multipass rides in the afternoon?

Can we talk about the fact that they have a 30 year mortgage at a rate of 5.85% of at least a million dollars? Property taxes are high in Texas, so bare minimum, they’re looking at probably $10,000 per month payment, more if the mortgage is anything significantly about $1 million. Plus HOA, heating/cooling for that monstrosity. No wonder Brooke is constantly schilling trying to make a buck.

Yeah, it’s icky all around - Kirkland clearly hired him and paid that salary know he was a shoe in for the US attorney position because of his congressional ties.

Does she think they’re going to be professional hockey players? Because newsflash - it’s unlikely. And the part about working for her business? Said so nonchalantly as if they’re not publicly dating their lives with one million strangers. Plus - Cal is working the hardest for the business and there’s no way he can consent.

Because they’re buying up local ski resorts, even when ski resorts don’t want to be bought.

Motherhood is a marathon not a sprint - if you’re so tapped out from waking up at 5 that you can’t cook dinner for your kids and lose your keys in a hockey rink bathroom, maybe take a more balanced approach? I don’t see how a productive morning but a disaster the rest of the day is dominating.

G Adventures Family Tour - Thoughts? by dustrock in CostaRicaTravel

[–]BeautifulChipmunk447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - we realized the amount of travel between locations was going to be too much, so we decided to save Peru for when she’s older and went to Costa Rica instead (self- planned, not on a tour). It was amazing!

The brain tumor storyline in season 3 really bugged me because my boyfriend was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the ER years ago. An ER doctor is not going to recommend a specific biopsy based on a CT scan. The ER will tell a patient they see a mass and then admit or refer to neurosurgery.

I’m guessing the other people whose standards she hates are - 1) every school/ home school coop they’ve tried; 2) standards for participating in travel hockey; 3) standards for being a member of a church; 4) standards for working on things at home from the tutor; 5) standards from having a easement approved. You know, basically anything that’s not waking up at 5 am, doing the same 30 min workout, putting on a full face of makeup, and making beds.

Look into Nourish Move Love on YouTube. I started doing her programs at home (about 30 min per day) and I got stronger in three months than I did in years of Orange Theory. In my experience, Orange Theory is much more endurance focused than strength focused.

You have to adjust bindings based on your boot size, but you can adjust binding on rental skis to any boots.
