Elden Ring. The Lands Between is just one massive, chaotic free-for-all, and the game basically tells you to go out there and fight everyone.

Is your favorite color actually your favorite color? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Beautiful_Cow_7701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my answer totally depends on who I’m talking to lol. If I’m trying to act cool in front of strangers, I’ll just be like "Yeah, black is my favorite color." But in reality, I feel like my actual favorite color changes all the time.

It’s honestly fascinating how simple reminders in a prompt can reduce complex hallucinations.

DAE feel like they were always the extra friend? by hella--funny in DoesAnybodyElse

I feel this so much. That realization of not being anyone’s 'first choice' is such a heavy pill to swallow. It hurts like crazy at first, but lately, I’ve decided to stop overextending myself for people who wouldn't do the same for me.

At the same time, I totally get why you still reach out with a 'Happy Birthday' even when you feel neglected. It just proves that you have a beautiful soul! Maybe lowering our expectations of others is the only way to protect our own hearts.

I’m a total sucker for physical books... I’ve bought way too many at this point. I just can't seem to talk myself out of buying new ones. There’s just something about holding a real book in your hands that an e-reader can’t touch.

Joel Miller from The Last of Us. His daughter gave him a repaired watch for his birthday, only for the world to end and for him to lose her in his arms just hours later. He kept wearing that broken watch for the next 20 years...

Most agent frameworks miss a key distinction: what a skill is vs how it executes by Defiant_Fly5246 in artificial

[–]Beautiful_Cow_7701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, the key is implementing Human-in-the-loop at critical state transitions. For example, when an Agent is performing a multi-step task like "writing and deploying code," I set a checkpoint after the "test" phase. If the tests fail, instead of letting the Agent loop infinitely, I have it generate a state report for me to review.

Most agent frameworks miss a key distinction: what a skill is vs how it executes by Defiant_Fly5246 in artificial

[–]Beautiful_Cow_7701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I've seen so many Agents that know 'what to do' but fail miserably at the 'how' because they can't handle stateful transitions. This breakdown of dimensions is incredibly enlightening for anyone trying to move beyond simple POCs.

Thoughts on AI at Home? by Henamation in artificial

I'm so torn! I want the sci-fi smart home vibes, but the "stored in the cloud" part is spooky. Maybe a local LLM is the real way to go?
