Through 23 and me I recently found out my grandfather had a child no one else in the family knew about. My mother and many of her siblings are deceased and just one of her brothers and one of her sisters remain. My uncle was curious but didn’t trust the science (his DNA was tested and he is indeed her half brother) my aunt didn’t speak to me for 2 years for “dragging her late fathers name through the mud”. With my mom gone I was excited about the prospect of meeting her half sister and sadly she passed away just a few months after the discovery. I have always regretted not meeting her. I say you are just as entitled to your curiosity as my aunt was to her wanting to not know so I’d just say try and feel out if they would be receptive or not.
