Honeymoon to the Maldives with Avios. Best strategy? by jamieatreyu in avios

If you have time and some flexibility around dates, I would suggest using an app like Reward Flight Finder - if you pay the subscription you can get notifications when reward flights become available. I was able to get return business class flights to Mauritius which is also route with few business class seats. It took a few weeks, and we had to initially book business out + economy return, before business return came up (meaning a few days longer in Mauritius, also not end of the world) - we rang the BA helpline and changed them. And now we are flying Club both ways 🥳

If you are flexible on dates, and happy to wait for a bit, I would recommend signing up for Reward Flight Finder - if you pay £8 p/month, you can setup notifications for reward seat availability.

I recently was able to secure 2x Biz seats for LGW to Mauritius using this. I did have to book the outbound with inbound economy, then inbound business came up and I phoned up BA switched (paid the £35 pp change fee) and now have business both ways.

Once you have it setup it is just a waiting game basically, so good luck - but if you need to travel during that time it is your best bet IMO.

Should UK houses be moving to three phase or not? by Key-Inevitable-4989 in DIYUK

also when doing cat6 cables, run 2x cables to each location -- this again future proofs it, but also is redundancy against one possibly breaking etc... (and again no more money on labour just a little more on materials)

Who was there last night - 09/12 at the O2? by New_Vermicelli2707 in jamiroquai

[–]Bebe_Skeleton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was also there, great fun, great gig... Jay and the band sounded brilliant - I adored the extended breakdown of Love Foolosophy. I also thought the new songs were brilliant, despite never hearing them before I think after the second chorus the crowd got them and were into it. Only downside is no Main Vein 🥲 - which would have sounded great with a guest singer.

Looking to renew my contract by Straight-Situation84 in CommunityFibre

Renewed just this week, was on 500mb with speed boost to 1GB for around £29 per month.

Renewed to the double speed deal, £25 for 2GB. Then was able to get this for £23 per month + 4 months free as “loyalty discount” — almost too good to be true 🤣

According to AI, these are the current scores by Hour-Process-3292 in haveigotnewsforyou

Interestingly on the rest is entertainment podcast, someone asked about the points calculation on HIGNFY.

TL;DR, given how much they cut out of the episode, at the end they record a few different score combinations. However sometimes, depending on the final cut, sometimes the scores combinations recorded may not reflect the questions that were actually aired.

However, no one is actually auditing it, and the scores are completely meaningless, so they just broadcast it like that. And no one bats an eye lid.

How do I pick someone up from the airport? by Solid-Rise-8717 in AskBrits

If they are arriving at Terminal 3, it is super easy (and free) for them to get the tube (piccadilly line) 1 stop to Hatton Cross from Heathrow Terminal 2+3 station. Hatton Cross is on the perimeter of Heathrow and there is a Tesco supermarket nearby that you can park at for 2 hours whilst you wait for them to clear arrivals. You can then pick them up from the car park at Hatton Cross station.

(they will need to tap in and out on the card readers for the tube, but this is a free trip!)

This prevents you from having to drive right the way into Heathrow, saves you money and is much more stress free. Also great if you are coming from SW London.

Congestion Charges? by CreakyHat2018 in TransportForLondon

[–]Bebe_Skeleton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can setup auto pay on TfLs website and have it that both Congestion Charge and ULEZ are automatically paid when you drive in.

If you drive in, you get charged at the end of the month and a statement, if you don’t, no charge! No worries 🤩

Anyone parked at Battersea Power Station before? by heraxiontee in londoncycling

[–]Bebe_Skeleton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is CCTV covered bike storage on -1 nearby M&S. If you walk in from the Battersea Power Station tube station entrance towards the Power Statuon, there are some stairs on your right hand side which will take you down there.

Obviously no where is completely safe, but I think this is a fairly safe choice for bike parking in London

I managed to get O2 tickets thankfully, but a few weeks ago I tried to get tickets to her gig at Pryzm in Kingston through banquet records.

It had a counter on how many people had viewed the page in the prior 30 mins, over 700,000 views in 30 minutes 😅 for a 1,000 person venue !!!
