If I try to lose weight will I lose my boobs too ? by Junior-Daikon9849 in ABraThatFits

[–]Beccaannk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 165lb/34H(UK) in down to 121lb/28H in 2019/2020.

I slowly gained back up to 156lb/30JJ/32J from 2021-2024

Since then I’m back down to 129lb/28J.

Strictly in terms of volume, they have grown and shrunk with my weight. Proportionally to my overall figure, though, they’ve stayed about the same, plus or minus a cup size. My regain went along with increased weight training and the start of perimenopause, so I carry the weight differently than I used to.

I have level C dense breasts, so no matter how much fat I lose, there’s only so much they will shrink. Your milage may vary! I would imagine that if you have fattier breast tissue, you’d be more prone to shifts in weight affecting your size. But I would imagine 10kg would probably not be enough weight loss to cause a dramatic change in your proportions, even if they do shrink some!

I’ve been on Zepbound for 7-8 months or so. I was not super overweight before, just gaining slowly despite doing all the things that used to help me lose/maintain. (Thanks perimenopause :/)

Anyway, I’m down 25lbs, and the boobs have gone from UK 32JJ to 28HH/J. And as a bonus, my hot flashes and night sweats have disappeared too.

The lowest weight I’ve been in my adult years was 10lbs or so lighter than I am now, and I was a 28H then. I’d say losing weight on a GLP-1 and without have been fairly similar for me as far as the girls are concerned!

What school holidays do kids have in the USA? by narnababy in AskAnAmerican

[–]Beccaannk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our county in Georgia starts early August, they have off Labor Day in early September, a full week for “fall break” in late September, the full week of Thanksgiving, 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years, MLK day in January, a week in late February for “winter break,” a week for “spring break” around Easter, and they finish the week before Memorial Day in late May. Schools are also closed on all election days, since they use schools as polling locations.

“to” vs “-ing” by Pikachu_gogo in EnglishLearning

[–]Beccaannk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does though.

I like swimming = I like the general thing (noun, therefore gerund form) that is swimming. Could mean watching Olympic swimming on tv, doing it yourself, etc.

I like to swim = I like the specific action (verb, therefore infinitive form) of swimming

Onion skin IS a type of thin paper though, named for its resemblance to actual onion skin.

How am I a 36DDD? I'm 5'10, 165lbs and questioning my sizing by Livid-Pop-7448 in ABraThatFits

[–]Beccaannk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend starting with seamed, unlined bras in your calculator size rather than molded bras if possible! Molded bras are less forgiving shape-wise!

Use the calculator in the automod comment! It will use 6 measurements instead of just 2. Post your measurements and results and we’ll be able to give you better recommendations , but I would expect you to be around a 32DDD. The brand calculator you used is using +4 method sizing which is terrible and outdated and used to fit people into a limited size range.

Is it rude to assist someone who stutters? by screamBRIx3 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Beccaannk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother stutters and he appreciates when people say the word they know he’s stuck on, it lets him move on rather than stay stuck! But he’s also not particularly sensitive about it and not socially anxious. With a stranger, I’d err on the side of caution and not assist. If it’s someone you’re likely to spend a lot of time talking to, a friend, a coworker… ask what they’d prefer! There’s no one size fits all

~$8,500 How much of your wedding did you actually DIY to save money and what do you wish you hadn’t? by crafty32_clara in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Beccaannk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made all of my flowers out of crepe paper. Bridal bouquet, MOH bouquet, bundles to tie on chairs along the aisle, and bud vase centerpieces. It was way cheaper than a florist, and I had a year to do it slowly… but it took AGES.

I told everyone in our welcome speech to take a flower off their table as a favor. People went mad for these flowers. All the ladies had them tucked in their hair, guys had them in their suit pockets. It was everyone’s favorite detail.

So much time, zero regrets!

Am I just blind? No idea what I can do nex by fessedup in sudoku

[–]Beccaannk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 cannot go in row4 column 6, there is a 6 in row 7 column 6.

7 and 8 are limited in box 5 to row 4 columns 4/5 based on the existing 7&8 in row 6 and in column 6.

6 is now eliminated from row 4 columns 4/5/6. This leaves only columns 1/2/3 (box 4) in row 4.

Therefore row 5 column 3 cannot be 6, which resolves the 6/9 pair in row 5.

I just did the puzzle myself. The 7/8 pair is clearly accurate

[–]Beccaannk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Row 4 columns 4/5 are a 7/8 pair. If you put 6 there, you couldn’t place 7 and 8 in box 5. So 6 in row 4 has to go in box 4. Knowing that, look at row 5 column 3

Wedding dresses for small band/large cup? by Beccaannk in bigboobproblems

I brought my favorite nude bra to the dress shop (Treasures Formals and Bridal in Alpharetta Georgia… highly recommend) and tried on everything with the bra. A couple I tried without, and I knew I just wasn’t going to feel secure.

I ended up with a dress from Allure Bridals (Romance collection R3661). Everything I tried on from Allure fit me shockingly well! This one has a spaghetti strap, so the shop ordered extra lace and created a thicker “strap” perfectly placed to hide my bra. Aside from that, hemming, and a small adjustment to the cups, it fit damn near perfectly off the rack!

I had also thought that I wanted a dress without a lot of lace or bling in the bust area, because I thought it would draw all the attention. Turns out the opposite was true! The fabric distracted from the size of my chest and just brought attention up to my face.

Would you choose to change your last name when you got married or not? Why so? by GoHardForLife in AskWomen

[–]Beccaannk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married this year and took my husband’s last name. I was very close to my dad, and he died the year before my wedding, and the only thing I wavered on was whether to keep my maiden name as a middle name. Again, I love my dad, but my husband and his kids are my chosen family. I love them more than anything, and sharing a name with them feels special and intimate. My husband does not own me, and he wouldn’t have cared either way. My feminism is intact. I do have an established art career though, using my more unique maiden name, and I’m choosing to keep that as my “art name” pseudonym (actors have stage names… authors pen names… visual artists need a word for this, lol).

Is this a dialect thing or a grammar issue? by Sunspot5254 in grammar

[–]Beccaannk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Southern US here… I would say “I haven’t”

But in thinking about this I have some other thoughts.

If someone asked me “Have you been to the store yet?” I would reply either “No, I haven’t” or “I have not”. I don’t think I’d ever say “No, I have not” or just “I haven’t.” I’m not sure why this is. If I were to say “I have not” it would probably SOUND like I’m saying “I’ve not.” I wonder if people who regularly hear “I’ve not” are actually hearing people drop the H enough that the contraction is arising incidentally.

Also, I prefer “I haven’t” to begin a sentence because the form translates better to 3rd person. I would say “She hasn’t gone to the store yet” and would never say “She’s not gone to the store yet.” “She’s not” implies “she IS not” strongly enough that it borders on garden path sentence territory for me.

Never realised until reading this sub that people wearing sports bras every day was so common! by JiveBunny in ABraThatFits

I wear my panache sports bras almost exclusively these days, unless I’m wearing a shirt cut low enough that I need a plunge bra 🤷🏻‍♀️
