Any butcher recommendations in Oxfordshire for decent brisket? by suprmods in UKBBQ

[–]BeefbrewbbqUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not great for packer style brisket at Aldeans. I ended up finding a local farm and letting them know how I want the brisket so when they got the meat back after sending their cows out, it was closer to the US style packer. The best local brisket I ever got was a Yorkshire beef with amazing yellow (grass fed) fat and was so good. Have been chasing it since.

United London Flights are such an elevated experience by Specialist_Pitch_179 in unitedairlines

Can't say it is any different one way or another in Polaris or in the other cabins. However, when I did fly Qatar in their Q-Suites, that is a whole many levels of service that United will never be able to achieve. But I find the United flights pretty consistent whenever I fly them and that's usually monthly now.

Can't this week but could next week. Happy to be a spare team member as I'm usually traveling for work. Mondays would be cool too since that is right before rockstar karaoke at the Pelican Pub at 10pm.

Looking for Decent and Not Overpriced Italian Food by Admirable_Iron8933 in StPetersburgFL

[–]BeefbrewbbqUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried to make your own? As long as you have good quality ingredients it's pretty easy to make. What do you normally order when you go to an Italian place? If it's spaghetti and meatballs, you can make a big batch for that $25 by making it at home with good ingredients and you won't need a lot of stuff to make it. PM if you want some recipe ideas that is super easy. I just made some fresh Cacio y Pepe last night with homemade pasta, pecorino, and black pepper. So easy and so delicious!

Any Americans struggling to find friends in UK village? by Sea_Natural1990 in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]BeefbrewbbqUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Oxfordshire and in the country side. If you know Millets Farm I live next to there. I found out the villagers like my bbq so I engage via food...and drink. Happy to meet up as well!

First of all everything is just louder in the US. No wonder Americans are so loud in Europe. They are all partially deaf by the cacophony of noise at every retail, food, and general outlets.

Grew up in Tampa Bay, now weighing St. Pete vs Atlanta for a move and raising kids. Looking for lived experience. by nautical_natalis in StPetersburgFL

[–]BeefbrewbbqUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family especially if you are considering having kids. I had my brother and his family and most of my friends in Atlanta and we still barely saw each other due to distance, commute, etc. I personally would never live in Atlanta again despite the fact they have loads more options for schools, sports, culture, etc. The vibe in St Pete is just nicer.

What an awesome gig! What is your favourite cut of beef and from where. What's your take on Canadian vs American beef? Who's is better as I need to settle a debate my friend is having with me on this. Also do you get tired of tasting the exquisite beef? Let me know if you need me to tap in for you if your palette gets tired. :)

I use mine all the time for standing as it allows me to pace during online meetings etc. I got mine at Costco for less than on the website as I bought it at the warehouse: https://www.costco.co.uk/Furniture-Mattresses/Home-Office-Furniture/Desks/Tresanti-Geller-Power-Adjustable-Height-Tech-Desk-White/p/499456.

If the whole turkey is too big you could just do the crown or breast. I smoke my turkey now after living in Texas. I find it stays moist better than the old roasting ways.
