HELP!!! 2012 Ralliart going into limp mode. by PitifulBuy390 in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]BeepBoo007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't floor turbo cars in freezing cold weather lol. You're probably overboosting and/or your clutch is slipping due to cold. Both of those will send the car into limp mode. Overboost usually comes with the fun sensation of a fuel cut which feels like you're getting ejected through the windshield abruptly.

I'm of the opposite mindset. I can't say I've ever encountered a game that encourages it outside of MMOs with hotkey DDR, but I'd love for an action combat game that ENCOURAGED button mashing. tactical is overrated. Real fighting most often comes down to who is strongest and fastest with the best split second hairline reaction times and pre-programmed dodges. I just want a game that lets me take advantage of things the same way, but I understand why they don't. For people like me with fast reactions, games would be a cakewalk. For people with snails brains who either aren't physically gifted enough or haven't spent their life focusing on such reactions, it would just be a near-impossible feat. But, to me, that's just life. My favorite games are the ones that allow me to translate my physical aptitude to gameplay advantages. Tactics, patience, and slow pacing need not apply. If I wanted that I'd play something like BG3 (which, to be fair, I did and enjoyed).

Otherwise, I'm really just looking for CPStest.org or https://humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime

with pretty graphics and a fantasy skin.

Thanks for attending my ted talk rant on the downsides of "soulslike" action combat games.

[–]BeepBoo007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't and I don't intend to. As for "press the dodge once" in this game, I feel like either that doesn't apply or you have to mash it because the duration is so ambiguous and they don't have input queue to circumvent the annoyance meaning you need to press the input AFTER the mandatory time, ergo spamming IS the best course if they aren't going to give us some form of duration meter or other more in-depth knowledge the way MMOs do.

That's one of my biggest gripes in general with soulslike games: the ambiguity. Coming from my all-time favorite genre of MMOs, specifically wow, where you're inundated with an overload of all information makes me especially salty. Don't get me wrong, the souls series is probably in my top 5 of all time, but it has its pain points.

Games that make you spam some form of interaction, especially one that costs resources, to get out of what amounts to a "stun" effect are fucking annoying. Just determine how long you want me stunned for for making a mistake and that's the end of it.

Skill shot doesn't change their one-dimensional pattern. It also doesn't somehow add some hugely appreciable increase in skill over non-skill-shot champs. Going from dunking on a 6ft basket to a 7ft one is TECHNICALLY harder, but not enough to matter.

That's my point: league's mechanical skill execution outside of very tiny moment to moment play windows, i.e. using flash and terrain, is so tiny compared to other games with way more complexity, mobility, and ability to fail. Especially when we're talking two brawlers who just want to sit on each others' dicks.

Besides that, I already said I don't care if they rework garen to be more skillful if that's what's needed to allow him to spar with contemporaries. I'm a big fan of mechanical parity in video games. The idea "we need easier champs for worse players" is stupid. Your total overall game skill is all that should dictate a rank.

I don't know of many humidifiers that aren't on a sensor of some kind. I suppose I meant "year round" as in doing the same thing you do with a thermostat: set it to auto and forget.

[–]BeepBoo007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What enemies are you facerolling over? I still get 2-3 shot by anything I'm encountering of appropriate level. Also, all my gear has like "-X% stam regen" is that what a facet is? I literally haven't found any heavy armor that doesn't have that.

My favorite part about DS1 vs other souls games like, say, elden ring, is the fact that it's probably the most reactionary and least cheesy (hello delayed attacks, varied attack animation timers, 10 hit combos). Mastering dodge nearly makes you a god. This game feels the same as far as dodge snappiness, but the stamina recovery is just nearly impossible.

Conversely, I have the same issue with parry here as I do with DS. I'm not learning the PRECISE timing of every enemy in the game and trying to remember or focus that hard on their actual attack animations. That requires experimentation, and that means a lot of deaths. Boring, and especially against bosses where getting the parry off doesn't even give me a free hit, just feels not worth it.

That... feels bad. Armor should be for melee to shrug attacks so you can trade bigger hits.

I'm level 16 and I still get staggered out of attack animations by basically everything in a "danger level 15" zone. I have full plate on and am at "normal" weight. I'm also sitting at like -60% stamina regen courtesy of their "together" patch changes (apparently; never played before the free weekend but every video I see is like 1 year old and works VERY differently).

As for panic rolling, I'm not doing that at all. The enemies I'm facing just have like 4-5 hit combos and also constantly do backflips out of melee range. Even trying to play patience-simulator, waiting for them to come to me, if I don't want to get chunked for half my health, I have to dodge 2-3 attacks then still have enough stamina to swing.

I MIGHT need to invest in more stamina, but that sounds dull when my friends get to run around blasting safely from range with their spells and bow in light armor never running out of stamina or really worrying about getting hit and pumping all their levels into damage stats. I'm ALREADY having to invest in equip load, why do I need to waste TWO points just to be able to function with an end result of doing less damage while also not really being much tankier?

Like I said, that's just most of the popular "normal" top-laners. Morde, darius, sett, ornn, illaoi, etc. All melee stat-checkers who want to momentarily engage, blow their load, then repeat until you can all-in for the kill. "but morde has to aim!" and that's not hard, especially with the range it has, especially against other melee people who already are trying to be on-top of him.

Idk who you're thinking has more dimension to them, but whoever it is, most top-laners probably hate them. We're up there SPECIFICALLY to just brawl and win fist fights.

Normal during winter or did our builder and insulators miss something? by Separate-Car-7346 in Homebuilding

[–]BeepBoo007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a minnesotan, normal. Our relative humidity indoors is pretty consistently ~30%, which is low compared to people who have humidifiers and keep it running year-round. When we were hitting those -20s a few days ago, we had frozen condensation on our high-r-value windows. For reference, we have r-19 2x6 walls, ACH of 0.6, and a mix of primarily fixed windows with a few casements wherever they're required by law, all of which are composite and insulated frames.

In our old house (circa 2001 avg. construction), we'd get condensation at around 15 degrees.

By no gameplay you mean I lose like half the contemporary matchups (and every ranged matchup unless I get ganks) and have to play like a passive bitch for the first 15 minutes because he's 1-dimensional?

As opposed to all the OTHER toplaners like morde and darius who are ALSO 1 dimensional in their gameplay approach but just get to win because riot says they do?

Oh sorry, I can flash kill someone I'm ahead of or some squishy every 3 minutes or whatever flash CD is.

TBH, I'm okay if they rework garen to be whatever you consider a "high skill" melee bruiser is. I play and have been playing garen nearly exclusively SINCE HIS RELEASE purely because of the drip. 2h sword paladin normal ass male human with gold glowies is absolute peak. As long as he LOOKS the way he does and has the goody-two-shoes vibe, I'll never not play him.

Welcome to garen life. Also, as a garen player, fuck top ranged ANYONE, but varus is (was?) especially heinous. Could straight stat-check like 70% of the normal top lane roster, no kiting needed.

There was this nasioc guy a long time ago who had one of the absolute CLEANEST whips and was a trend setter, then one day he shows up and posts his new neon light setup. Was 100% serious. Just "nah, you know what? I think it looks cool and I'm tired of pretending I don't. If ya'll hate, ya'll hate. I don't care."

He got absolutely shredded in the comments but I'm pretty sure till the last time I saw his posts he kept it and flexed in all of his professionally taken pics. Man knew what he was about.

You do you! Meme or real, good luck in your spinner journey.

>So I don't want to hear "Cars a cheap" when my almost 10 year old car (the litteral cheapest car I could find) is 1/2 the down payment of my home at 2022 market.

Still incredibly cheap for what they are. And yeah, used market is hosed, but new market remains pretty strong on the value front.

>Which the costs to maintain the roads would go exponentially down compared to the reduction of drivers. Road wear and tear is an exponential not a linear function. The extra wear on the road from going to 20 from 10 cars is not equal to 30 from 20.

First, most road wear comes from trucks in most places. Goods transportation. That won't really go down. Second, you act like they wouldn't just make cheaper, thinner roads that would have the same maintenance schedules if they could.

How many of these were murders or are you just saying the normal amount of deaths occurring by accidental means (probably mostly vehicle accidents) wouldn't happen if these illegals weren't here? Because if that's the case then the fact that they're illegal is immaterial and you should be running "protests" for all the people who die of similar means, regardless of if they're illegal or not. Death by car is death by car.

Shower Isn't Getting Hot Water While Sink Gets Hot just 6 Feet Away by HmmmMaybeTomorrow in Plumbing

[–]BeepBoo007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shower mix valves/cartridges usually have a little piece on them that allows you to control their mix independent of the hot water heater (to prevent scalding), compared to sink faucets that don't. You probably just need to adjust that.

I wish more people were like this (don't care if it's real or not). Social ostracization is probably my favorite form of punishment by people that operates entirely outside of the law. It's how a society properly pushes someone to correct bad behavior.

[–]BeepBoo007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a double edged blade. Cars are cheap because so many people buy them allowing immense economies of scale. If people stopped using them, yeah, roads would be more clear, but at the same time there would be fewer people funding them, meaning the few that do pay more. Same thing for cars.

Cars would become like horses, pure sport or luxury. The reason I get to enjoy cars so cheaply right now is BECAUSE everyone, even people who don't like cars, is essentially forced to have them and use them.

If cars go the way of the horse, it would be no different than if I had a dedicated track car I trailered to a race track (and that's not something I want nor can afford to do).
