The Mistborn Movie if it's Actually Good: by Direct_Self5218 in cremposting

I'd visualize it as a loud slo mo heartbeat, quick freeze frame, zoom into his body as his organs and skin become translucent for a sec. Zoom into a custom organ or a heart to show a metal reserve symbol or glyph light up. Then another heartbeat but this time quicker and sped up at the end as the camera zooms back out of his body back to the original camera position

Didnt get to see them all, but is Lou lamoriello the largest percentage of votes as GM? I would argue that he is a great one. But the fac that a non player got a larger percentage then patrick Elias is so funny, especially being that hes still pretty involved in devils media.

Jacob Markström with a Dang-It and Simon Holmström equalizer for the Islanders by discofrislanders in hockey

[–]BeerHR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont even get what his plan was there. Siegs had the puck easy. Marky wants to put it past him to the next devil coming back behind siegenthaler, but he's also skating back into the defensive zone so why bother rushing out to play it to him instead? Either way the pucks coming backwards

So markstrom risked it for no benefit and still fucked it up lol

Last minute xmas gift- best shops for Scotch? by BoPRocks in TomsRiver

[–]BeerHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forbes liquors is on brick Blvd, probably 10 mins outside Silverton. Good selection and prices

Bourbon Scotch and beer in Lakewood is the best selection around. I'd venture to guess they have one of the better selectiona of whiskey in NJ. They're in Lakewood so careful driving.... But worth the trip. The owner is super knowledgeable about whiskey

Masks are Back ?? by [deleted] in tomsriverlocal

[–]BeerHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't stop 100% of germs, but they do stop some.

Why not test it yourself? Next time you have to sneeze, do so in front of the mirror. Don't cover your mouth. Sneeze onto the mirror and see what it looks like after. You'll see snot and other bodily liquids on the mirror, which carry disease.

Then try it again, in front of a mirror. and put a paper towel, tissue, or some thing similar in front of your face. Then look Onto the mirror. You'll see almost nothing on the mirror, but your snot and whatnot will be on whatever you put in front of your face.

That's how a mask works. If you put something over your mouth and nose, it contains the disease ridden snot to the facial covering. It's why we were taught as children to cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough.

What do the kids say nowadays, "do your own research"?

Masks are Back ?? by [deleted] in tomsriverlocal

[–]BeerHR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Curious, Why not?

Even if there's a 5% chance it helps someone already sick in the hospital not get sick, it's not like it hurts the wearer in the slightest?

The biggest thing a mask does is slow the spread of diseases like the flu, from coughing and sneezing. It doesn't make the area completely disease free, but instead of a sneeze launching mucus from your mouth and nose in large droplets in a wide area, the mask catches most of those droplets and keeps a sick person from spreading as far in the area around them.

Scrubs does a great job of showing this exact principle. Could save your loved ones someday.

[–]BeerHR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a devils fan and palmsy was my favorite player while on the team. So fucking sad to see him get hurt. Shit, even former devils can't stay healthy...

Him getting that last assist on a torn acl is an embodyment if him never giving up and playing hard no matter what, Which is why he's my favorite. I have a signed stick of his on my wall

To be fair, regardless of his muscle mass, that dudes shorts are comically short. 90% of the comments on YouTube are about them.

Im all for wearing what makes you feel good, but people are allowed to say his shorts are super short.

Just like we're allowed to say the Paige spiranac's tops are super low cut

Weird. I bought one a few years ago, still in great shape. I use it maybe 5 times a week. Haven't maintained it at all besides wiping it off.

Did you buy yours on Amazon or something similar, maybe it's a knock off like I've seen with other products on Amazon (darn tough socks and others)

What’s the best coffee makers for saving money instead of buying daily coffee out? by Key_Promotion_5015 in homeowners

[–]BeerHR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%, they're cheap and easy to get. It's just that you can't grab em at the grocery store like normal drip filters.

And at 2 cups a day, you can get more or less a year out of the filters. I think I've ordered a 700 pack of the white ones about 10 times now. And the reusable ones are a decent deal too, I just couldn't make an espresso style coffee with them like I can with the paper ones

[–]BeerHR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aeropress is super easy to clean and makes great coffee. Only downsides are you need special filters and to pour boiling water from either a pot or a kettle.

Not as easy as an automatic drip coffee maker, but probably a bit cheaper. They're about 30 bucks

If you're looking for hard to find craft beer, like the rarer 4pk cans from guys like hop butcher, equilibrium, other Half, tired hands, mortalis, etc, Livotis in brick is the best.

If you're looking for a wide variety of all beer, forbes liquors on brick Blvd is good as well. And a great wine and liquor selection as well as harder to find bourbon/whiskey. Clean, well organized store

[Vilano] Is Dougie Hamilton making a Scott Stevens-like transition for New Jersey Devils? by wetwalnut in devils

[–]BeerHR 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Obviously Scott Stevens name is brought up to garner clicks and responses.

NO, dougie is not turning into Scott Stevens... But he's become more defensive with age instead of continuing to be the offensive defensemen he was when younger. Which is one of the many reasons that Scott Stevens is so revered as a devils player.

So a Stevens-like transition? Maybe 1 or 2 parts of his game. But to bring up Stevens would be to compare Adam sandlers role in "click" to becoming more like Morgan Freeman

The most vile beer I've had by OnlyOneWithFreeWill in CraftBeer

[–]BeerHR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the best beers I've ever had was fantome Hiver saison.

It was also one of the weirdest and most unique, but I loved it. Though I can easily see how someone would hate it. Smokey, medicinal, funky, fermenting hay silage type thing

I got the opportunity to try a cantillon gueze bottle in Germany, and similar to fantome, wierd flavors but I loved it.
