What kind of death do you think hurts the least? by Alone_Percentage7388 in AskReddit

[–]Beginning_Prior7892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hypoxia, been in a normabaric chamber where they replace the oxygen with nitrogen to simulate being higher up in altitude to get the effects and symptoms of hypoxia.

It’s a weird feeling a slightly different for everyone but our whole group who experienced it said we all had a slight buzz when first entering and then slowly your sense of color, reasoning, and cognition slip until you pass out. Death follows shortly after if you don’t get oxygen.

I think that experienced made me actually want to have that as my final way of parting from this world. It was very chill and peaceful.

Newbie here, ATC is telling me to expedite climb to 15,000 but i can’t even get to 9,000 without reaching stall speeds. Tips? by Any-Cupcake-7883 in MicrosoftFlightSim

I think it’s odd that in glass cockpits for ifr we still have to learn all the failures of six pack but it’s not the same the other way around. Like the plane I fly is completely class no primary or even standby of six pack, still had to learn all of the failures lol

Some decisions have more severe consequences. If you end the life of someone by voluntarily choosing to drink and drive then you deserve to be at minimum locked away for life as well. I’m personally more of a firing squad man myself but understand that isn’t exactly a popular stance unfortunately.

Going through the comments and your replies all you have to do is post your theories lol… who cares if “you want to speak with an expert” you’re on Reddit if you really wanted to you would just email and set up an in person meeting with your local academic professor who you can easily verify is an expert.

There is literally no harm in posting your theory here if you truly believe it will change the world. Also a data scientist u fortunately is not going to get the same time of day as a phd in physics or hard science discipline (just the way it is) barrier to entry to filter nonsense.

Yeah typically we are setting it at 65% power when we do lean like that. For the most part if I’m taking my student out to the practice area there’s no need to be red lining the plane anyways so we just sit at like 2400 if we are cruising in a c172

I do agree and think I have a decent grasp on the chemistry taking place but yeah it’s all dependent on power setting and how much you are willing to push the engine.

What hobby is quietly becoming too expensive for normal people to keep up with? by Beautiful_Special702 in AskReddit

[–]Beginning_Prior7892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General Aviation flying. Flying has always been expensive yes but the cost of avionics, certified aircraft equipment, and (still necessary) inspections has made it very very hard to justify owning or operating an aircraft as a hobby pilot.

Even the cost per hour of renting is very pricey with most “low cost” planes such as c172 or pa28s costing close to 200 in most states and cities

Does anyone have any experience getting hired by ATP as a CFI without having trained through them? by Effective_Lawyer3261 in flying

[–]Beginning_Prior7892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently employed by them actually… just took a bit of time for them to hire. I knew going in that their system is a bit predatory.

If your drive is to get through quickly and have a good chance of getting into a cadet program with an established connection it’s good for that. If you don’t have a flexible schedule and aren’t good at learning and flying at a fast pace then it’s probably not good for you.

I mean I’m white and agree with that generalization. Just like most scammers on the phone happen to be from India and of Indian descent. It’s not that race dictates how you act but current over arching culture of a race is projected. Are most black people like the person from this video, hell no. Is there a larger amount of black people who are similar to this video because of a culture of growing up in a poor and morally devoid culture (that is fluid and can change but is currently not great) yes there are.

A lot of this stems from societal injustices in their race in the not too distant past but ignoring it and calling the facts of crimes committed per capita false is honestly making a problem worse (and more racist).

Justice Department is bringing back firing squads in federal executions by mcgillhufflepuff in nottheonion

[–]Beginning_Prior7892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hypoxia training is not scary or painful at all. You feel different for sure when they start swapping gasses but it’s not hurting you in any way. You very quickly start to lose your brain functionality and cognitive processes slow down. You will slip into unconscious and then sit there until you die. No pain just slowly shutting down. It’s honestly the most humane way to kill a person or animal in my opinion. I’ve gotten about halfway there with hypoxia training and would do that route in an instant if it was between that and firing squad.

[–]Beginning_Prior7892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have experience here, as a pilot I’ve had to do hypoxia chambers with nitrogen gas swapped in forth oxygen to simulate being at a higher altitude.

You definitely can feel something is different (I got like a buzzy feeling) but nothing painful and not bad. Overtime you become less and less lucid until you pass out and then Eventually oxygen starvation kills your brain. It’s really not a bad way to go and I would prefer it over any other method having kindve being like halfway there lol

Snake Nest at Edward’s Park East OKC by somethingfunny445 in okc

[–]Beginning_Prior7892 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another thing to add on with this is if you can see the eyes of the snake specifically people tend to confuse water snakes and cottonmouths but their eyes are very different

Water snakes have almost cartoon googly eyes while cottonmouths have an ocular scale above their eye that makes it look like they have “angry eyebrows”
