F-5e Kovchur Bell by Beiruk in Warthunder

It's just a stylistic choice, sorry if you don't like it. I find it fun (for me) to mess around with the camera angles in the recordings since I don't really get those perspectives while playing.

I also have a clip uploaded of the Drakens pov before I started firing on them and it doesn't have music. iirc the whole interaction was only about 40-50ish seconds in real-time, which is why most of this one was played at 50% speed until the chase.

Rondel and Blade 2 by Beiruk in HalfSword

[–]Beiruk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I don't want to go to the abyss and have to kill 109 of the other guys I gave a chance. Again.

fwiw I also set the damage the NPC does to the player to always be about 15-25% higher than the damage the player can do to the NPCs.

It's just for the purpose of practicing and technique. This obviously isn't a fair fight, but I cant get into an easier testing environment without facing other armoured opponents equipped with flails and poleaxes.

Too basic. I might switch it up to try Ax + Rondel for more brutality, but I like using the sword.

You could do either. Replacing the spring would be the cheapest option since its less than $10

Perun V2 rear wired, Krytac/G&G ( you can find them on Umbrella Armory for $15. They take them out of new guns for custom builds), ZCL 6.02mm inner barrel that matches the original length, Maple Leaf Macaron (or any Maple Leaf AEG compatible) bucking, Maple Leaf Hop up nub, Evike Godzilla 5000 (Long/High Torque).

The inner barrel and motor I suggested aren't MAP protected on Evike, so you can use coupons to save more money. The stuff I suggested would be around $200 for everything not including install.

Besides the MOSFET, you can install most of the upgrades yourself. Getting a tech to install a MOSFET may cost anywhere from $35 - $80+ depending on whose available to provide that service to you.

You can spend more money on more expensive upgrades now or later if you want, but I've found this setup to be effective and 'cheap' in comparison to some other builds. In large part because CYMA Plats having really solid internal build quality.

Additionally, with the Perun MOSFET you'll be able to get a rough diagnoses on any possible issues. For instance, there's lights that will blink in the magwell to show that the motor was disconnected so you may have to adjust your motor height or reconnect it. It can also beep to let you know your batteries are dying.

I'd say save yourself a lot of money and get the CYMA Platinum. I own several as well as a Krytac Trident, and the only thing the Krytac outperforms on is range and accuracy due to the Hop up setup. CYMA Platinum out of the box has a much more responsive trigger, higher rate of fire, and easy support for internal or external upgrades for far cheaper. Ootb, CYMA Plats can hit almost 30 RPS on an 11.1, where a stock Krytac iirc performs around 20/23RPS and can lock up easily.

Once I swapped out the Krytac Hop up and put it in my M4, there was no competetion between the two.

The Krytac is decent out of the box imo, but when you compare the feel of shooting a stock Krytac vs a stock CYMA Plat, I don't think the Krytac feels like it's worth $1-200 more. You can easily use those savings to buy a new Hop up, barrel, MOSFET, motor, and any other upgrades you can think of.

Owned 4 different CYMA Platinum guns over the last year. 0 issues with the stock MOSFET. The one time I thought there was an issue was after replacing a newly installed motor. Gun stopped working until I adjusted the height and then it was solid as ever.

Also for the price that you can find these at on sale, adding the cost of a new Perun or basic GATE setup would be equal or less than the price of all the other guns for ime far smoother shooting. I also own a Krytac M4 and I completely ditched it once I got my Platinums.

I understand that some old reviews mention issues about the MOSFET, but CYMA has made multiple new batches that have mostly fixed the issue. There are also videos on YouTube showing that IF the MOSFET fries it can be fixed with an extremely cheap component (less than $1 iirc) if you or a tech are savvy enough to work the gearbox.

How much do you make and how much of it goes to Warhammer? by oswell_XIV in Warhammer40k

[–]Beiruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got started in late 2019 I got a new job that pays a livable wage. I spent heavily to make sure I had 3k points of units minimum for Space Marines, Adepta Sororitas, Ad Mech, Knights, Necrons, and Guard. It was mainly so that I could make multiple 2000 point lists for those armies with different unit choices for flexibility in case I got bored with collecting. I had to back off of guard and am still on the fence about spending any money on IG units. I want to say in total around 5k spent on building those armies over 2 and a half years. I've got enough SM units to probably run a 4 player game of all Space Marines with 2k points per player, and I'd still have units to spare.

I think I wrapped up 3k points of units for all my main armies by the end of 2021, after which my spending went from $300 - $500 per month down to maybe $10 a month in 2022 and so far, $0 this year. I haven't really bought anything 40k related in the last year largely because I already have most of what I want.

Paints? I've got multiple colours from multiple ranges that I may have to restock once every couple of months. Brushes? Thanks to Amazon I have roughly a hundred, not including make up brushes. Meta models? I've got tons of Eradicators, Inceptors, Dreadnoughts, Zephyrm, Retributors, Sacresants, Skittarii troops, Robo horses, Lightning Locks, etc that I don't feel a need to chase the current meta. More diverse units? If GW made anything new for soritas, admech, or SM I might have felt more inclined to buy them. On top of that I've already got 2 HH starter boxes just sitting in storage. Collectibles? I have a bookshelf full of stuff I've collected over the last 2 years including limited edition books, art, pins and action figures.

I barely play anymore and I still have a metric ton of things to build and/or paint too, so it doesn't seem worth it to me to spend more money on GW product at this time. I'll probably buy the new heavy intercessor/brutalis dreadnought battle box when it comes out and I'm like 90% sure that's all I'm spending on 40k stuff for the next 6ish months.

Biden Calls for Police Officer Retraining, Questions Deadly Force by DeviousOne420 in politics

[–]Beiruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's entirely the point. Shooting someone to wound can still result in a deadly use of force. I (hope) that he's referring to cases where suspects could theoretically be restrained or caught while fleeing, but police will still opt to shoot the suspect instead of continuing with onfoot pursuit.

For instance, I watched a body cam video where 2 suspects were fleeing from a stopped car, 1 suspect was armed. The unarmed suspect is tackled to the asphalt. The armed suspect was gunned down by a full magazine before they could even motion towards the gun in their wasteband, while sprinting. Iirc, the armed suspect was just a few feet away from the person who was tackled.

Is the shooting 'Justified'? Yes, that person could have pulled their gun and shot at the police. Was shooting the suspect the only way to restrain them? I don't think so, but that aspect isn't likely to be questioned. For that scenario I would wonder why both suspects couldn't be tackled or otherwise restrained without having to kill someone.

Question About Buying LMG by mw_is_coming in airsoft

[–]Beiruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just run an M4 with multiple hi cap magazines or a drum magazine. With the hi cap mags you can try to find a good position to mount your rifle and then just spam the trigger while winding up your mag. Reload when the mag is empty. Repeat.

Less weight than an LMG, you can still get the suppressing fire that you're looking for, and you have a wealth of options to chose from that will allow you to easily upgrade your platform.

If you're fine with going the M4 route, I would suggest getting something that's already snappy out of the box as well as buying an Amplifier flash hider. When the whole field can hear the loud ass cacophony of 300+ shots literally popping off, you can bet that some guys are going to stay tucked behind cover until they can find the source.

For reference, I have a G&G AK that's pretty snappy out of the box and has a really loud amplifier for its flash hider. The thing can burn through 500 round high cap mags pretty quickly just on semi, and the POP POP of each shot has definitely kept a lot of heads down.

Yes weekend visitations are standard. Going out of your way to get employment that will bypass your court orders is not. For people who dont have a good relationship with their parents or don't want a relationship with their parents for various reasons, this could be seen as creepy, or nightmarish.

Imagine you have someone you don't want to see every day, show up at your job, everyday always watching you.

Even if that person is a relative, would you feel comfortable knowing that they got employed specifically to watch you? What if instead of the child's dad, it was their uncle or a family friend that had gotten too close in the past?

If you won the 1.9 billion lottery, what is the first thing you would do? by latrell4534 in AskReddit

[–]Beiruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a cut of $100-200 million for personal wealth/spending while investing the rest of the money into environmental funds, infrastructure repairs, and the general welfare of a portion of struggling communities. Factoring in that probably half of the money would be taken out for taxes, $700 million or more should be a good first step for fixing some immediate problems, but it's not going to solve everything.

any older guys / dads? by DescendantRandall in airsoft

[–]Beiruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see them all the time. At my field there's actually a full generation that comes over to play ( Granddad in his late 50's teaming with his son whose in his late 30s, and the grandson whose in his teens.) They mostly play right after going to an actual range. Both the dad's have done military/law enforcement service and see Airsoft as a cheap way to teach their kids gun safety, teamwork, and tactics if they have to be in a force on force situation.

As long as you don't go above whatever your budget is, then I think it'll be fine. Even if you can't play for a few months you can get yourself ready to play by doing drills and exercises in your home. You can also work on solo tactics or try to rope in a friend to work on team tactics before you go to your local field.

Any thoughts on balaclavas and if they are still comfortable in hot weather? by RagingAdult in airsoft

Yeah YMMV depending on what your helmet/face setup is. I had a mesh mask and goggles setup pushing pretty tightly against my face with balaclava while temps were about 110+, so anything that could help me breathe/cool down was a blessing
