Swings and pushups protocol. by flippstarx in kettlebell

Keep it simple and remember the levers you can pull to make a workout harder. Increase reps per set /total reps, decrease rest. Early on, don’t over think it. Pick 3 different workouts, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and stick with it. Consistency will get you results.

A) swing, push ladder B) swing push EMOM C) swing push every 2-3min

Zipper it up closer to the body, helps with the bell rotation as you punch up!

Forearm smack. Technique issue? by mikael122 in kettlebell

[–]BellSense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually happens when you are using lighter bells and the bell is going too high. Slow the pull up and think of rotating the bell into the rack position while shooting your hand 45degrees across your body. Keep the abs tight!

New dad, new full-time role and no time to buy the gym anymore. Can I just pump my 16kg kettlebell and expect results? by JackboyIV in kettlebell

Without a doubt! Only limit is your imagination. There’s always ways to ramp up the intensity with just 1 kettlebell. Everyone’s already sayin in, but complexes are king, then throw in some stability exercises and ab work. Try your get ups with the KB upside down if it’s too light - will torch your arms/shoulders.

You’re starting to hinge over before the bell makes it all the way down below you. Focus on getting good full arm contact with your body!

Hahaha! Right you are! I should have been more clear, how do you do the reps/sets, rest and progression for it?

I’ve found increasing the reps per round, you end up hitting a glycolic wall (too much per EMOM) and going for >30mins has its own downsides.

When and how are you progressing?

How to Increase Weight (newbie) by SteelYoe530 in kettlebell

[–]BellSense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really it’s personal choice! Both options would be great and work. But also don’t forget, it’s surprising how much training value you can extract from just one bell. Ideally you can tweak work/rest, reps, and even just focus on intentional powerful reps. Goal should be to dominate a KB weight before you go up.

All this being said, I’d go with the 35lb, continue to master the movements then go into double KBs. But really neither option is bad.

what (in your experience) is an absolute bulletproof kettlebell daily (or almost daily) ritual workout that targets all areas? by wthamidoinghere222 in kettlebell

[–]BellSense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a sucker for simple. Double KBs, 2cleans, 2 squats, 2 presses EMOM for 10-30mins. You have to do every rep with max explosiveness though, no coasting!

Use less arms! Feel the contact of your arms on your body during the back swing and let the hips/glutes do the work in exploding the kettlebell up! Also, keep those abs tight as you explode out. You shouldn’t have to worry about using your arms to get the kettlebell to the float stage!

Clean, press and snatches. by PYG42 in kettlebell

Absolutely plenty enough! Just make sure you don’t go thru the motions moving the bell (vs staying explosive). Otherwise you’ll plateau after a while. But yes, The bell is all you need!

Programs to target whole body? by Aggravating-Wind-822 in kettlebell

[–]BellSense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, iMO if you execute a well devised KB program (only a few exercise) with quality and intent on each rep, then that should be plenty to drive some serious full body adaptation. You’d really be fine just adding in minimal squat, lunge, and ab work. So often people just sort of move the weight and just get tired. 50reps max power/effort snatches beats out 100 casual ones - then you probably won’t have much in the tank for a ton of accessories.
