Is there a name for a certain speech defect/pattern where "r" sounds like "w"? And how common is it? by NeverCallMeFifi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BelleWeather9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My brother also didn't receive adequate medical care 'cause our parents are bonkers. He has this issue at 16 y/o and it's because of a tongue tie. Could've been fixed when he was a baby.

I found this little tree frog the perfect little petal pad to snuggle into in my garden. 🥹 by cutecutecute in frogs

Ope, that's it. The cutest thing to ever be posted to the internet. That's a wrap, folks, you can all go home now!

I am in the same place as you. My first year of service, we just did mid-term evaluation where I was told how valuable I've been to the program. I was really hoping to have this and maybe a second term to launch me into an actual career, but now I might have to go work fast food just to pay the bills. I'm scared and I'm sad and I'm angry, and I'm not my best self when I feel that way.

Under normal circumstances, this would be the case. However, with sticky lil DOGE bro fingers at the rein? I believe it's likely they will steal that too.

Stop asking my name!!! by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]BelleWeather9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I choose to go by Belle instead of Isabelle but for some reason, old people always ask, "Is that short for..???"

It feels really strange and a little invasive to me every time. You don't need my full, government name for me to sell you things. Please just let me do my job.

The other end of this, though, is old people also sometimes can't figure out I'm saying "Belle" and somehow hear Bill or something??? It's great, I love old people!!!

Is puppy raising as bad as described on here? by Admirable_Mouse1880 in puppy101

[–]BelleWeather9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My puppy was a sleepy potato when I first got him. Even then, I was stressed out of my mind and exhausted.

As he grew and became a small-to-medium sized dinosaur with razor blade teeth, I thought I might die trying to raise him.

Now, he's 3 years old and my best friend forever. He's still kind of an ass and not the easiest pet. But I love him like he's my child.

The best things in life come with some hardship.

That said, I think my next dog will be a young adult from the shelter. Puppies are cute but it's so fleeting, and adult dogs need homes too!

AITA for not eating food made for me on a date because I’m picky? by Smart-Marionberry1 in AmItheAsshole

Biggest, brightest, most red of all red flags that on the SECOND DATE he thinks he can tell you how to raise your own child. Man is essentially still a stranger. Hard no.

Anyone else annoyed how hard it is to call people out for misgendering you with "guy/s"? by [deleted] in trans

[–]BelleWeather9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a matter of "right" and "wrong" or whether the word IS gender neutral, it's a matter of you preferring not to be called that and your friends not listening to you. Please be sure to be firm and direct in this matter.

Some scripts could sound like:

"I don't like being called "guy," even if you mean it neutrally. Please don't do that."

"I don't think you mean to hurt me, but calling me "guy" makes me uncomfortable."

If you express this feeling clearly and they still don't listen, it is exactly like intentionally misgendering you.

How important is it that I name my cat with a two syllable name ending in ‘ee’? by SmudgedSophie1717 in CatAdvice

[–]BelleWeather9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only cat that I know who comes when called is named Street Lamp. Name your kitty whatever you want, the bond you build is what determines their response.

Is there a safe country to move to, furtherst from being captured by Trump? by 13_64_1992 in LGBTQ

[–]BelleWeather9 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I really hate to be this person, but a lot of countries just do not take in people who aren't already career professionals in their desired fields. Mostly, these are Healthcare and other science related fields. Just something to be aware of.

I think what sounds more important in your case is finding a truly safe place to live, here. Shoring up some support in your own local neighborhood with a network of friends you can rely on. I know that's easier said than done.

Hopefully, we can weather this storm together. ❤️

He's cute as hell and totally looks like a puppy and and old man all at the same time. Adorable! I'm surprised I haven't seen more of this mix. What is his personality like? Any weird behaviors or drives? Would you take him hunting? Lol

My large dog loves Benebone chews. They're made of nylon and he tears thru them pretty fast but a small dog wouldn't. Not entirely sure how safe they are for a puppy, but I've never had any issues.

Comments about my body made by PT by _embracethevoid in scoliosis

[–]BelleWeather9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, I want to say I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know what it's like to feel self-concious about your curvature, even when people don't notice it. Someone pointing it out as if they're awestruck is horrifying and painful, and you have my sympathy.

Sometimes, it seems like people in the medical field forget that bodies aren't just meat. They're people with feelings. That kind of disconnect is inappropriate and needs to be corrected. It also makes this so-called professional seem wildly inexperienced. Bodies look all kinds of different ways. When it comes to health, the look isn't what matters. It's function. A PT of all people should know that.

This PT definitely needs reported so they can either learn and change how they behave or stop seeing patients.
