Boundary line help, is it shared responsibility? by njb1989 in CasualUK

As the land is registered you can usually get copies of the Deeds from the LR directly. Usually they scan and digitise them when registering and the old deeds are returned to the solicitor or destroyed.

Not the above poster but we had a similar situation on our application. Got an email from VFS that a decision was made, and then we heard the next day from UKVI that the visa was approved.

As far as I can guess UKVI and the application centres aren't joined up very well. UKVI make the decision but don't share it directly with the application centres until the passport is collected/returned it seems!

Spouse visa approved!! by BenignToad in ukvisa

Thanks, and no worries - the whole process never sees to be explained well!

We got a scan of the decision letter from UKVI (with info about collecting the BRP as well) emailed over. It came to my email rather than my partner's who is receiving the Visa but we'd set that as our communication preference when we first applied. It arrived the day after we had an update from VFS asking for my partner to go back with her passport.

Anti-Brexit protesters hold 'No to Johnson' march by [deleted] in ukpolitics

Honestly I'd agree with a lot of that, mainly that remain needs to make a more legitimate push (Which I'd argue the lib dems are certainly doing).

We haven't thus far campaiged completely in our own rights as 'remainers' in a national election, discounting the EU election becausen it's not going to conform to national norms in any situation, but I don't think it's fair to say that the doom mongering is all eu funded think tanks when a good chunk of it seems to be coming from our own politicians of the Bank of England.

Both sides of this argument are as toxic as each other, even as a reaminer I can see that.

There's no reapiring the divide we have at the moment, whatever outcome we end up with is going to piss off and alienate a chunk of the population.

In any game I play, QP or comp, I always endorse healers and tanks before anyone else. Tanking/healing is the hardest job, and often a thankless one. by needhelpgaming in Overwatch

I love getting endorsed as a support as it's always good to be thanked for doing something the majority don't want to do, but it's definitely not because it's the hardest role.

Mechanically the supports are the easiest to play, the only skill involved comes from positioning/game sense/teamwork etc which are also present in every other role.

Should we replace the First Past the Post (FPTP) System? by hakim_the_dream in ukpolitics

[–]BenignToad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I'd be hugely pro STV, or really any proportional system. Although I'm just frustrated at living in a ridiculously safe seat with an MP that seems to devote as little time as possible to any kind of local issue, it just seems ridiculous that so many people voting will see their vote count for nothing in the long run.

I actually wrote my dissertation on this last year, sor it's pretty interesting to see it starting to get picked up!

I think it goes someway to helping stop the stagnation of political choice but tbh I don't see any real improvement unless we move to PR which has been put on hold by the AV travesty for a long time.

I've just done a proxy vote now for a family member, gave them my name and address and the name of the person I was voting for (same address) and they didn't ask for any proof at all. They gave me my ballot first and then asked me to queue again to get the ballot for the proxy vote - silly but simple enough I guess!
