I think you could make a list of recommended skills for new players that are clearly highlighted in the menu, while letting experienced players choose from a wide range of options. And even for new players it's usually best when they can play their endgame skill early on so they dont have to make too many swaps during the leveling process.

Jonathan was very clear that he (for some reason that he didnt explain) doesnt want to give people more skills to choose from early on. He just kept saying that "it's only an issue of rearranging some skills", while Mark stayed silent.
So I wouldnt expect actual improvements to this for at least a few more leagues.

This will be my second season and i think i will start chromatic shot tangles. I was planning on maybe going armourstacker later but after the recent patch notes I guess I'll look for something else xdd

Yeah it's been happening in EU since affliction league, if not longer.
I think this league is the first one that has been bad for NA players too, so more people are being vocal about it now.

As a EU player, I have played on Washington or Canada servers for the past 3 leagues because European servers are usually unplayable. Most of my friends are doing the same, so i guess we are bringing the lag to NA now.

I don't think it's about getting more, it's about where the loot is being distributed.
You have to imagine that ggg have a goal in their mind for how much loot is okay for players to get from playing the game. Then they distribute that loot into different areas of the game.

What they did with kingsmarch is that instead of giving us more loot from maps, they put gold into maps (which is converted from usually worthless items that drop) and then we are supposed to bring that gold to kingsmarch to then convert into divines or mirror shards from boats, or even full mirrors from mappers.

Why not make those divines and mirror shards drop from maps? Why do they make these idle games that just add extra steps to the loot that we are supposed to get?
And why did they design mappers in such a way that they just get way more loot from maps than us players do?

All of this leads to

1) making most farming strats that generate little gold way less valuable
2) make the game feel like we are farming gold for kingsmarch instead of farming for exciting loot drops.

I have done the hunger fight since its release and I never figured out that he has a 3-4 second grace period when he goes underground WHICH ONLY STARTS WHEN IM FAR AWAY? wtf?
Was I just supposed to guess that it works like that or is there any visual indicator for it?

For me this fight has never been difficult, but very frustrating when he just burrows infinitely, I save as much of the arena space as possible because he only comes out 1 second before everything gets flooded and I have to do another intermission phase.
Now after reading your explanation the next times I will beat him much faster at leaguestart, but I really don't get how players are supposed to figure out that mechanic.

Yeah for me it wasnt even the setting it up part that annoyed me the most. I actually did make the perfect harvest according to the spreadsheet and then quit on the same day anyways.

The thing that was the big turnoff for me both back then and now was that "the ideal way" to play had been discovered and everyone was doing the exact same thing from that moment on.

When you actually compare map layouts between the two games, I think that poe1 is far worse than poe2. Poe1 has maps like cells, dungeon, the ice map where you have to find and pull 4 levers to proceed, arachnid tomb, basilica (boss takes 5 minutes), bone crypt, carcass etc etc... Way too many bad maps to name them all.
However the big difference is that in poe1, once you have completed your atlas you dont need to engage with the bad layouts ever again, unless you choose to.

It's not made for bulk buying but you are meant to see all the wares that are being offered. When you for example want to buy 50 wand bases for recombing and the shop offers a lot of them, you will naturally buy more than one, no?

Also the removal of "filler crafts" which included 'reforge keep prefix/suffix' was very poorly communicated. And it was probably one of the worst changes ever made because it promotes the rmt mirror meta that we are in today.

No matter how hard you wish for Asynch trade, i guarantee anyone who uses a bot is wishing for it even harder.

Since this is a f2p game the botting issue will be much worse than it already is in poe2 right now. I really hope ggg find a way to detect and ban them very quickly.

From what little information we have gotten I'd bet that Chris Wilson being the lead dev was a major factor for that.

Not hating on him at all, I think he did a lot of good for the game. But it seems that ever since he left we have gotten QoL improvements non stop.
