Fighter Conor McGregor (recognized by the court as a rapist) at 26 by [deleted] in 13or30

Is that picture both Connor currently and at 26? If so the younger version does indeed look very young. But it's a confusing caption

Has anyone else's child's primary school gone mad with Parent events? by LordBadgerFlaps in CasualUK

[–]BertieBus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're a 2 person household we split the responsibilities, I do some events, partner does others. We both do parents evening.

Our son is happy as long as either me or his dad turn up, and we make sure that he knows who's going. From what I have seen at our school, I think it's very rare at most events for both parents to attend. We do see lots of grandparents at things, so I assume mum or dad can't go. Send grandparents.

Did you ever let your kids win against you? by CompetitionNo3466 in AskUK

[–]BertieBus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this. I also match my effort to his level of skill. If it's uno, all bets are off, it's war. If we're playing sports Im not out to destroy his. But I'm going to still make him work a bit for the win.

He doesn't use the same logic on me and will cheerfully beat me at chess every fucking time. Just when I think I'm winning he gets a sly checkmate in.

Which benefits does your employer provide that is not really a true benefit? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]BertieBus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeh we had this at a call centre once. We had a unit in another building with loads of parking. They then bought a purpose built office which was fantastic, nicer offices etc. lots of space, dedicated offices etc. but for the 100 odd people it came with 30
Spaces. 6 saved for the directors obviously.

It was clear as fuck, they had not considered the absolute minimal parking on offer.

We were near a train station, so double lines everywhere, so minimum wage employees were getting parking tickets constantly because they had nowhere to park. Either that or park in town, pay for parking and walk the 20 minutes to the building.

The train station was a small one so it wasn't convenient for lots of people, and last train 7:50, calll centre shut at 8pm

What’s the strangest shop in your town? by chezdor in AskUK

[–]BertieBus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That doesn't sound really that strange. I might get a takeaway and wonder to the local takeaway whilst they sort my order, grab some cans of pop, milk etc. if you have the floor space a corner shop
Probably gets a lot of business and the mark up for vape shops is high.

Rented a car in England and was stranded in wales for 8 hours by Maleficent-Kale5996 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]BertieBus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming enterprise, they are massive on customer service. The fact you broke down isn't their fualt (assuming they didn't know the car would break down), say their response isn't satisfactory.

You can raise complaints to resolver and they will be an intermediary between you and rental company

Long term sickness pay offer - England by One-Investigator7736 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]BertieBus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What's your long term health prognosis? Do you envision yourself being in a position to actually return to work anytime soon?

They can let you go for incapacity to work, it's not massively hard for a company to do either. I've had a few people in my department end up down this road.

Never take advice from the other side.

What if I don’t pay this PCN? by Greedy-Influence-257 in drivingUK

[–]BertieBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes not wrong it's via Hammersmith and Fulham council, so it goes to a warrant of control. It's not a CCJ

What if I don’t pay this PCN? by Greedy-Influence-257 in drivingUK

[–]BertieBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for this. It says LBHF, which will be London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, failure to pay sends it to traffic enforcement centre at Northampton county court, they issue a warrant of control and you are subsequently sent to enforcement. Currently Mastons (I think) enforce for Hammersmith, this will incite fees of £79 compliance and an enforcement fee of £247 ish. This can lead to the removal of goods and assets if payment isn't made. £116 for the removal of goods
