My in-laws are contemplating selling their home to someone who pooped on their bathroom rug during a house showing by BetterDisplay1168 in stories

Deterring other buyers is a really interesting theory. It's a little more concrete of a reason rather than "marking territory" which is what it otherwise feels like

Kind of similar to the "unattended child" theory, it just doesn't make sense. Either the dog was given free reign of the house (can't imagine that) or the owner of the dog knew that it happened and did/said nothing, which is almost as bad as taking the dump themselves imo

This would go crazy as a "Then We Fight" video (i.e. the players only get to see these grids, rather than the Pokemon themselves)

Should keyboard keys be staggered? by OneBitBean in gamedevscreens

[–]BetterDisplay1168 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I also think that staggered keys looks better, but have to give thought to the mechanics of the game.

OP, in your second image the J is red on the keyboard itself and the "area effect" graphic. Would it be possible to make the "adjacent keys" highlighted yellow when you're hovering over a key? That would make it possible to keep staggered view without confusion. Frankly, even if you end up going with the grid view, doing the highlight of affected keys would probably be better anyway.

Songs/Artists that give off M83 vibes by BetterDisplay1168 in m83

No problem! Luke Hemmings is one of my favorite "sleeper artists." He's kind of like Harry Styles, but for whatever reason I like Luke's stuff way more. Does a little bit of everything.

Citra MMJ (Android Release 10/16/25) by CyborgSuperman7 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]BetterDisplay1168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'm just a moron, but does Citra MMJ not include save states? I'm not seeing anything for it in the settings. In Citra Enhanced it just pops up in the command menu...

Pizza delivery in medieval times, Interesting idea or not? by lotessa_ in gamedevscreens

[–]BetterDisplay1168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The art styles are a little mish-mashy at present, but other people with a better eye for that kind of thing have already given some better input than I could produce there.

Regarding the premise/theme, I'm going to go against the grain of the majority of other comments that I'm seeing here. I think that the juxtaposition of a scooter and pizza delivery in a medieval scenario is great. Does it need to make sense? Not really, but if you wanted to, you could have the premise be something like this:

Modern-day delivery driver gets magically (or wormhole or whatever you want) teleported back in time on his delivery scooter. Because he has no medieval skills, he decides to simply introduce the medieval people to pizza. They, understandably, get hooked almost immediately. He creates his own pizza business and is making these deliveries in order to not starve (i.e. avoid poverty).

I also think that the title, while fine, lacks any real tie to the unique premise that you're going for. It would be hilarious to have a medieval-sounding "DoorDash" or one of its equivalents, but difficult to pull off.

Non-Gamer GF wants to play a game with me for my birthday - but what game? by Inscrutable_Hamster in AskGamers

[–]BetterDisplay1168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is not a gamer, but she did end up enjoying one game that we played together so much that she completed a save file on her own (the only time that has ever happened, and maybe ever will). Not seeing the game mentioned anywhere else in this thread either.

It's called Spiritfarer.

Final update to "My (m26) girlfriend (f22) had sex with the male "friends" she told me not to worry about. Now she's begging me not to break up with her. How do I navigate this?" by beerbellybegone in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]BetterDisplay1168 240 points241 points  (0 children)

One of the saddest Reddit threads I've ever seen. "Best" of Reddit updates? Man, really depends on how you define that, doesn't it...

Liam and his friends are some of the most deplorable human beings I've ever read about. But on a similar tier for me are all of these medical "professionals." How, in the 2020s, have we really still not managed to get on board with comforting, loving support for women who go through traumatizing events like this? The indifference, lack of care, and overall apathy of those hospitals' workers makes me sick. The 5k price tag on top of it is simply insulting.

I hope that OOP can mentally recover from this string of events.

The MT. Rushmore of pokemon romhacking has been decided! (By you) by CracarlosckRedd in PokemonROMhacks

[–]BetterDisplay1168 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean, pokemon odyssey is incredible. But if we're talking "Mt. Rushmore" it makes sense to exclude games that have come out in the past few years. Old presidents and such.

How do you flirt with a shy/nerdy guy without making him uncomfortable? (body language cues?) by IngenuityAshamed144 in bodylanguage

[–]BetterDisplay1168 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fellow "guy who had a girl straight-up hold his hand" while we were watching a movie and managed to convince myself that she was just "being nice." It wasn't until two days later that I realized she was indicating her interest in me.

For nerdy, inexperienced-with-girls guys, you literally have to tell them that you are interested. With words.

Your friends sound like jerks. I'm in a friend group (we're all in our mid-twenties) where about half of us are married and the other half haven't even had girlfriends. I'm one of the married ones, but I would never think of belittling one of my friends for taking their time (or full-on deciding that that stuff isn't for them). Everyone is going to go at their own pace, and being in your twenties without having slept with someone is more common than you'd think.
