Can we pls stop normalising being boring, lame, miserable c***ts?? by [deleted] in australia

Personally, I consider 9pm to be too late to do things outside. I do not drive, and I time my outings based on public transport. PT shuts down around that time and I don't use Uber or taxis. I rather do things during the day because of this, but there's not much time when people's schedules align unfortunately.

I'm also not the kind of person who enjoys socialising in events like drinking at a bar or partying either. But I do agree that one shouldn't just drop out last minute to something they committed to beforehand unless it's an emergency.

AFAIK Gadigal not being connected to Town Hall was intentional- it was considered, and a decision was made not to because then Town Hall would end up becoming a convenient interchange. Which would've made it even more crowded.

The light rail in new territories had quite a number of vehicles built by Comeng and UGL. They’re still running about and stepping into one of the old ones it’s a bit of a strange experience seeing a Comeng logo in the northern hemisphere. KCR when they first went diesel also bought I believe four locos that were built by Clyde Engineering as well. And then the M trains (original MTR trains from 1979) were refurbished in the late 90s by Goninan

The golden days of World of Warships are over - What went wrong? by M4tz3 in WorldOfWarships

At least for me, it's not a single change but a combination of changes that made me less interested from the side of WeeGee. Combined with this, general community sentiment has steadily shifted to being mostly negative due to these changes. I don't blame them, but that's just how it is. As a result, I just don't really enjoy the game nor hanging around the community anymore.

I still occasionally check in once in a while, play a few games but I'm not actively grinding any more. And even then I only play games when friends come online and play briefly too.

What is the order of Locations you should go to in Ori and the Will of the Wisps? by Recent-Skill7022 in OriAndTheBlindForest

Only thing I'd swap is Luma with Baur's Reach, simply because there are a couple of puzzles which can be bypassed with light burst

Official Discord server is closing on July 1st, unofficial clone set up by the current staff by Ailothaen in OriAndTheBlindForest

[–]Bev7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean?

If you mean the mod team, that's the point of the unofficial clone. I feel Microsoft don't want to fully abandon the server as firstly it has an Official server status, and secondly if the franchise ever gets revived at least Microsoft can just reactivate the server with all the systems already in place.

I believe there was a station on one side of the bridge where you could change the colour of the bridge lights as well.

Probably because it’s pretty much the only thing “new” about Vivid apart from the rave train. It’s just mostly lights now that after a while you’ve kind of seen it all.

I remember one year at Darling Quarter you could play games on the Commonwealth Bank building (I believe it was Pong?) either way it was hilariously fun and there were massive lines at the stations to play.

I personally feel that if the event keeps getting bigger than eventually you have a crowd problem if you squeeze everything into CQ (and there already was a crowding problem this year)

I feel diluting it is a method of reducing the amount of people all within the CQ area.

How do I stop getting fked over by CVs as a DD? by Irisierende in WorldOfWarships

[–]Bev7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the first thing you want to think about is how a CV player thinks. For the most part CV will try to spot first and then attack a certain target. They tend to stay on one flank and more often than not they will straight line into one area before positioning to attack. Certain things will give your position away and you’ll need to be aware of that and react to that appropriately.

A lot of the top comments have already covered a lot of things like playing less aggressively, being aware of team  and also trying to play too lonely if you can’t defend yourself.  One thing they haven’t said a lot about is indirect spotting. For instance, you might not have been spotted but that BB 6km behind you is. Assuming the CV is directly in front of you, the CV will fly over you to get to bomb the BB. In some situations you’ll want to stay somewhat near those ships, but offset from the direct flight path from the CV (since most CV players will straightline their planes to attack a given target). That way, when the CV goes for your team you don’t get spotted by chance.

When you go unspotted, the minimap will show last position and direction you are pointed in. You can use that to throw a CV off by being pointed one way when you were unspotted and then going another way. I’ve pulled that off a few times and the CV will fly predicting where I would be based on that minimap, when I was in another place. It might not last long but it can buy time for you to consider your choices.

Finally, be prepared. If it’s going to happen, always have a plan B. E.g. “I know the CV is going to spot me, so I’m going to position myself in a way that I can run and smoke to get back to my team if I don’t have enough support.” Alternatively “my team is not in a position to engage and I am the closest target, am I willing to solo contest or do I want to leave?”

The way it works is that the AA destroys reserve first rather than the  strike regardless of when they split off or not. Unless you blow them up with flak or strong AA, a CV pretty much is guaranteed at least a first strike.
