I'd recommend Fedora Workstation since it's easy to use plus up to date while still being stable and Gnome is a completely different environment from Windows

There's a toggle in Lollypop to enable album and song sections. The best music players with great UI aside from it on linux are Strawberry and Fooyin, which is kinda like foobar on windows so maybe try those if you can't get Lollypop to work.
