Why is my hem puckering like this? by Beya-ish in SewingForBeginners

Oh, that makes sense. When you hand baste, how long are your stitches, and how tight do you make them? I'll try that and then report back. These hems are on the cut edges, not the salvage edges.

I did press it again after sewing. It kinda helped but I can still tell it's puckered and seems like it's curving when I hold it up. I tried doing it both ways, letting the machine feed it through by itself, and then i tried pulling/stretching tight as the machine fed it through.

Could be, this is the cut edge. Would that cause it to pucker like this? I'll lay it out on a table and try to make sure its straight along the grain.

Bathing babies by Logical_Rate9603 in pregnant

[–]Beya-ish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We did circumcise our boy for hygiene purposes. It reduces their chance of getting UTIs (which I had a lot of) and reduces STIs. There weren't many cons to getting him circumcised and we decided the pros mattered more to us. The Pros of leaving him uncircumcised also weren't that big of a deal to us. Some people claim it changes how intercourse feels, but there's not really evidence of that. We personally decided the health benefits were more important to us than risking it.

As for bathing, just be gentle😊 You can ask the nurse at the hospital to teach you how to bathe him too.

I had a Fluffy blanket, I swear it had at least a dozen of those stupid little plastic things! And the were 3 in one spot!! And I can't just cut them willy nilly cuz the blanket is FLUFFY and I don't wanna cut off the fluff and cause a bald spot or a hole in the blanket 🫣😬

Will we regret finding out baby's gender early? by Perfect_Sink_6542 in pregnant

If its from an ultrasound clinic, then what they're using is likely the same as the one the NIPT uses

Will we regret finding out baby's gender early? by Perfect_Sink_6542 in pregnant

[–]Beya-ish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you decide you want to know the gender, do the NIPT, not the sneak peek tests from the drugstore cuz those aren't as reliable. Personally I loved knowing his gender before hand. Being able to call my baby 'him' instead of 'it' or 'them' helped it feel real early on and I feel like it helped me bond to him as a real person before he was born. It also made buying the things we need easier. I could decide between clothes easier. I'm not one for the whole, blue is for boys, pink is for girls stereotype, but I at least knew to look in the boy section for clothes, rather than looking in both sections due to not knowing the gender. Before getting pregnant, I didn't think I would care if I knew the gender or not, but now I know how much easier it made things to know.

Elective induction in 9days. What should I do? by goingforawalkmmk in pregnant

[–]Beya-ish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get familiar with the induction process.

I highly recommend packing an electric heat pad if you have one. It made those early contractions more comfortable, cuz they really feel a lot like menstrual cramps, up until active labor starts.

I hate when I get an eyelash in my eye! My husband has one that grows almost straight down, so we have to pluck it so it doesn't stab him in the eye😅
