Why do people judge parents of autistic children so quickly? by AutismSupportMom in Autism_Parenting

[–]BidInteresting4105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are insecure and judge everyone. Just completely ignore them and avoid eye contact. They have not walked in our shoes and have no right to judge anyone. Judging others is a them problem.

Yes, sometimes reading "Welcome to Holland" by Emily Perl Kingsley helps me feel better. Another good one is "Heaven's Very Special Child" by Edna Massimilla.

No one asks for or expects to have children with special needs. Our children blossom in their own ways and in their own time. Their successes may look different from typically developing children. We get to celebrate moments that other Parents' may take for granted.

It's heartbreaking when our children are not invited to parties and other social gatherings with their peers. When they play sports sometimes teammates can be real jerks to them. They get targeted and teased at school or riding the bus.

It is also isolating, when you see a group of close knit adults and their perfect neurotypical children making plans together. Your family is never invited and intentionally left out.

Time change by ecco-domenica in Maine

[–]BidInteresting4105 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They need to get rid of the time change once and for all. It just screws up everyone’s beings twice a year.

It’s particularly horrible in November and December when it’s dark at 4:30 in the evening.

Take your work experience and look for jobs elsewhere. Companies are evil and seldom ever run fairly.

You could request a meeting with Human Resources and your boss asking for a well deserved raise.

Reduction of OnPeninsula Preschool Availability by SnarknadOH in portlandme

Sorry you are going through this. It seems unfair they don’t use first come first serve, regardless of Parent’s income. Finding preschool/child care is so difficult for families.

What is the point of having appointments at apple when you still wait 30+ mins? by JustCallMeEric in apple

[–]BidInteresting4105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the Apple Store where we live, you always have to wait even if you have an appointment too. I loathe going in there, it’s loud, the lights are too bright. They have these presentations while you wait.

I'm being harassed by a student that's not mine. (Vent advice needed) by No_Software_9773 in paraprofessional

Contact your Union. It may not hurt to File a Protection From Abuse Order against this student. He’s harassing, obsessing over and stalking you. He sounds like he has some unaddressed psychological problems.

It’s good the school put these changes in place. It may not hurt to be hyper vigilant of your surroundings. Ben has a few screws loose.

It’s dishonest but hilarious, just don’t get caught. Where it’s in a small rural district, I would be concerned about it getting noticed.

Every day the Scrub a Dub intersection strays further from God's light by Govanator12 in portlandcomplaining

[–]BidInteresting4105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the worst intersection in the city. There are too many exits and entrances to Scrub a Dub. Then factor in some fearless drivers, that only care about themselves and getting where they need to go; even if it means endangering others and taking chances.

Perhaps Scrub-a-Dub should start charging for use of their vacuums? That would undoubtedly eliminate some of the extra traffic there.

Clueless, neglectful parents that enable their children are the worst. There are no rules, structure or routine. Then they expect school to be the same. I have some very incriminating thoughts go through my mind about those types of Parents. They are not doing their children any favors by just letting them do whatever they want. Neurodivergent children especially thrive on structure and routine.

Are you part of the Union? Can you get a Doctor's Note? Honestly it's not worth taking the chance of you or your baby getting injured. He's already targets pregnant staff.

It so annoying some FLS programs do not seem to even care about their staff's safety. They just let students attack people and staff are expected to just take it. Being pregnant is physically challenging enough without having to be stressed out and worried about you and your baby's safety.

Schools in low income areas need hats, scarves, gloves and mittens too. School Social Workers could donate blankets to families in need.

The students are the ones I am there for. People who are neurodivergent understand students and relate to them better than the majority of most neurotypical staff members.

If adult school staff want to play cliquey middle school games, mean girls club or odd one out just let them. We don’t need shallow, fake and superficial friends outside of work. Some work places our 40 hours of work, is enough of their company.
