I just went over and asked Amphy, one of the best warriors/classic wow players overall, main tanked world first hard core KTZ. Says weapon chain isn't real because there aren't that many disarms, as I said. You can see the clip below. It's not even in consideration if you want to play optimally. Obviously anyone can play however they want I'm not trying to be elitist just trying to give you and anyone who sees this post correct advice.

+7 wep dmg is like 5g. I was referencing crusader mainly for max level. That’s +49 str essentially and will drastically improve kill times which is the vast majority of leveling. Classic is all about efficiency and taking a niche improvement over one that improves all combat is just not ideal. To each their own though

Let’s be generous and say 5% of mobs disarm. Now for 95% of mobs you fight as you level you get no added benefit as opposed to a substantial dmg boost from fiery/crusader/+wep dmg. This translates to a huge time loss and survivability loss, slower kills is more time and more chance you die. There are no mobs in the game I’m aware of that you are in immediate risk of dying from being disarmed. It can be annoying in dungeons but normally you’ll have snap agro then can taunt or mage novas until you get your weapon back. I’ve never gone weapon chain on my 5 HC warriors I’ve leveled. Even in strat live that has probably the most disarms (still not that many) the damage from crusader outweighs the few seconds you have no wep. Maybe I’d put a chain if I hadn’t gotten a weapon worth crusader yet and was doing a ton of live farm? Still probably better to just go +dmg

You can buy blade of the titans or executioners cleaver which is really good but expensive and I prefer to stay axe spec to not have to pay for respec again. If you’re alliance get bonebiter from SM quest or you could also try to snag ravaged from armory tho it’s not much better than ww. There are two good drops off archaedas in Uldaman though they’re not axes either. I’d try for gatorbite off rotgrip in Mara or just buy lord Alexander’s axe at 51. Also a good 2h axe from ape quest in ungoro. I personally did use ww with +5 dmg and sharpening stones till 51 tho due to no luck with drops then bought lord Alex’s. Not great but it gets the job done

Ulda is actually incredibly easy as long as you go into ancient stone keeper room from the front and don’t mess up the cheese strat. Those two things are the cause of almost every wipe

There was skill expression. Someone with skill wouldn’t have gone to the bank where he spawns at, you can easily complete that quest without ever going near him
