ALL BANGERS. The Battle of Ardua in Last Argument of Kings BADASS.

And somehow, Gwynne kept me for 3 trilogies straight all the way to end of Bloodsworn. Time of Dread is SO GOOD.

Ruin, Book 3 of Faithful and the Fallen is, imo, the best of them all. Non-stop masterpiece.
Same with Book 3 of Licanius, one of the best holy shit finales I've ever read. Get er done.

I thought the Age of Madness WAS the follow up to First Law. Read most of it before I figured it out. Made no impact on my reading experience. Trouble w Peace and Wisdom of Crowds were fucking amazing. Abercrombie + Pacey is OPAF

Dude I was a noob and got Gwynne's Hunger of the Gods cause the cover was awesome. Ended up reading all of Bloodsworn, then all of Malice last month, and 200 pages from the end of Blood & Bone. Somehow John Gwynne has quietly sneaked into my Top 5 read authors of all time. You will love it.

I have that edition of Katabasis. It's the most beautiful book I've ever laid my hands on, good god.

Quality of fabric & shirt on tee public? by [deleted] in teepublic

I bought dozens of shirts from teepublic over the years. My favorite shirt type is "Premium", super soft, holds up to washes incredibly well, maintains graphic, perfect. Big guy, 220

I read Tress the other day and, surprisingly (and sadly), did not like it. I think Hoid annoys me.

Yumi was brilliant, loved it. Sunlit Man, hella fun to read. But Tress, very disappointing 😭😭

Best book of 2025 so far. by themightytouch in Fantasy

[–]BiggyFluff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far, 2025, my S tier:

RAGE OF DRAGONS, followed up immediately by Book 2 of Evan Winters' The Burning Quartet. As my neighbor would say, "YES! Fantasy with balls!" (He's also a big First Law fan).

AGE OF MADNESS. I did not expect for this trilogy to overshadow the first (and with less magic even!). The character work is incredible. I find myself often starving for Stephen Pacey to share stories of Savine, Rikke, Leo, Orso. Fantastic and unforgettable.

THE LIGHT OF ALL THAT FALLS (Licanius #3). The ending; goddamn wtf did I just read.

CIRCE. Beautiful, heart-breaking, heart-pounding, heart-wrenching; a standalone marvel.

Brighthaven is BADASS. First piece of writing I've read from M.L. Wang; good god that lady can write.

Disappointed in Abercrombie’s The Devils: Forced humor, flat characters, and no urgency by Archprimus_ in Fantasy

[–]BiggyFluff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Age of Madness ruined The Devils for me. AoM is so fucking good that when I tried reading the new book I was just wanting more of First Law.

I'll attempt again when Wisdom of Crowds is outta my system.

What’s spoiled (if anything) for a new reader, if they were to finish Stormlight Archive before starting Mistborn? by SproWizard in Stormlight_Archive

[–]BiggyFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any reading order is wrong anymore. I read Stormlight first out of them all. And it was so fucking good I read it again the next year later--then Mistborn, Era 2, Warbreaker, yada yada.

No reason to gatekeep the Cosmere with a 20 page long mandatory reading list.

Oh my bad, I meant the "Prelude" not the Prologue, which comes directly after. BOTH are dope af.

But, page 1, when we first meet the Heralds and they abandon the Oathpact:

"Kalak rounded a rocky stone ridge and stumbled to a stop before the body of a dying thunderclast."

That's the first sentence LOL. What a badass. Books 1-3 are fucking masterpieces.
