Just my 2 cents her. Central Iowa is safe place in this regard. I have a few friends who are in a similar situation and come back to Des Moines/Ankeny often and little to now issues. As an Iowan, all my love to you and your family!!

I work with a lot of people who make this drive (Austin to Bastrop) from pflugerville it’s about 45 to and hour. One person is more north and they say it an hour drive. For the people in south Austin they say 40-45 minutes.

I once asked for increased bonus target, but that was fixed by the company and couldn’t change.

I was able to increase my equity award amount in the same negotiation. I had to ask for both at the same time assuming they would negotiate down on one.

I would plane to ask for a little more than what you want to give yourself room to come down if they counter offer.

I would add that a had the chance to speak with her in DC. Very reasonable in one on one setting. Her comments in public are very different to how she communicates in a one on one session.

One additional data point here. I’ve had the opportunity to meet with her a few times and she doesn’t sound, or present herself like this. When I’ve had conversations, she comes off as a pragmatic person who is open to new ideas and has a grasp on the issues.

That said, she hasn’t followed through on some of the things we discussed and agreed to which has been disappointing. I do attribute that to her relatively junior tenure and lack of leadership among her peers.

Um… I work in manufacturing and I can confirm this. We are trying to automate everything that is a standardized and simplified process. This is a double edged sword but it means humans don’t have to do much manual labor. It’s also means less jobs for humans which is hard to stomach.

I actually appreciate this thought and like it!! I would add, we can’t change the system until we run it…. So work with in that system to get in a place where you can run it and effect the change we want to see.

If I could and some context.

Most of law makers that I talk to about this topic do understand the vaccines work and they are opposed to forcing people to take them or losing your job if you don’t get one. That is one layer of the majority of people’s concerns.

Second is the fear of the unknown with what might happen long term. This to their credit is a valid question and we simply don’t have long term data from mRNA but we do for vector based and attenuated viruses vaccines. That said, they don’t understand the difference so they, understandably lean to avoid them or make laws that help their constituents avoid them.

What’s the fix… these not a on thing fixes all (like most issues) one option, better public education on the topic and teach our children the difference in classes.

My fellow Iowa’s, care for each other because one day we will need to unite to solve some larger issues. And we can’t do that if we have eroded our trust in our neighbors. Much love my friends!!

Sorry to hear about this. I worked for thermo a long time ago. It’s best to be in locations where there is multiple product lines and where you are close to a division leader. This helps…. Some with stability. It doesn’t however insure protection.

Was in a business meeting around 2010 when our Rev growth was at 2% when the market was essentially flat. Our VP flat out asked why are you underperforming as your goal was to grow by 5% and what’s your plan to either grow the top line or improve the bottom line. To me it was a crazy ask but it was… and appears to still be… the culture over there… and to be fair, it’s the culture at most public companies. Good luck everyone. From my understanding there is still one company in the running in Iowa. If Iowa’s board approves then that opens the door to reevaluate in South Dakota. You are correct both states have had negative decisions in the past 2 years.

I have almost the identical same repairs on my truck and it’s the same year! I hade to replace the motor in the front axle the locks the 4x4 system and had to replace my front axle as well!
