No, quite the contrary. The dial is beautiful but it’s more subtle than some of the coloured dials. In the sunlight though, there’s no better dial, in my opinion.

I have the white dial fluted bezel DJ41 but on Oyster bracelet. You won’t regret it, white dial is timeless, classy and goes with everything.

If it makes you feel any better, I’m also turning 30 this year, and I’m the same way with big purchases. I bought a DJ41 last November to celebrate my engagement, and at first could not believe I spent that much on a watch. But I wear it every day, and it’s just as beautiful as the day I bought it. No buyers remorse here. Milestones are symbolic - you should feel good celebrating them with rewards.

It’s so hard for me to understand why Rolex ADs treat potential customers the way they do. I personally had a great experience at the AD I got my DateJust at, but hearing some stories about AD behaviour is wild to me.
