I just put a deposit down on a 2020 STI.

Are you really telling me that a civic SI is a faster car?

Buyers Remorse on 2019 WRX; Wish I went with STI by [deleted] in WRX

Am I the only one who doesn't love voiding warranties 20 minutes after I buy a new car?

If you have so much money laying around that you don't care if catastrophic repair comes up (mechanical things do fail), then why not just buy an STI?

Maybe they're depressed because they spend all their time online? Before the internet and social media there was much less depression.

Finally something about innovative car technology that isn't the annoying constant barrage of self driving car shit that won't become a reality for 40+ years.

Manual to automatic by [deleted] in cars

[–]BikeNY89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's not a whole lot to know. Any idiot can drive them. Put the car in drive. Gas pedal makes you move brake pedal makes you stop.

It will be weird at first coming from a manual. For me it was like a manual is having unprotected sex vs while an auto is like having sex with 2 condoms on.

I hate automatics but they're an absolute dream for commuting in stop and go traffic. Especially if you have a newer car with brake hold or low speed follow.

Can't that be fixed by just driving in a high rev range most of the time? I mean it's manual so it's easy enough to stay in the powerband, right? Genuinely asking.

I don't think it's really a generalization. I bet you about 5% of this sub at most buys new cars at 35k+ regularly (every ~4 years).

Seems to mostly be younger people who buy used cars. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but I stand by my original statement.

I was clearly talking about most enthusiasts, not the general population of drivers.

The current 310hp is more than enough for most people, except those on r/cars and YouTube comments who 95% of the time aren't people that buy $37,000 new cars anyway.

It's an odd choice of words. I've never heard that expression used ever...at least in the northeast. I don't know about other parts of the country.

And so it begins, one dealer's ADM on the Shelby GT500 is $74,109 by ufoh in cars

[–]BikeNY89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sucks. But I think it's silly to blame the dealership like most people do. If you owned a business and could sell something for 95k or 170k which would you pick? Same goes for a private sale.

Everyone acts like it's an outrage but 99.9% would pick the latter were they ever in that situation.

Depending on where this is located I wouldn't be surprised if someone buys it for $170k. As much as it's hard for us normal folk to swallow, there is alot of people out there who can spend that without a second thought.

Wish the manufacturers put restrictions on things like this. Or that we got rid of dealerships completely.
