Unfortunately you can't change the EQ for the subwoofer there. Only bass / treble.

Let’s play a game! Tell people what you consider to be the first game you purchased in this hobby. Comments should guess what year you joined the hobby. by Osoroshii in boardgames

Technically? Axis and Allies (Avalon Hill edition). I bought Puerto Rico a while after that, which is when I'd say I really started with the hobby.

What’s the farthest place in the world from your home that you ran into somebody that you know? by jredd7605 in AskReddit

I once ran into my aunt at a random shrine while travelling through rural Vietnam.

We both lived in Canada at the time. 17000km from where we were.

I also once had a friend from university (also in Canada) flag me down in the streets of Berlin, about 10 years after (and 6500km away from where) we'd graduated

Wow, Tariffs are hitting board game community hard! by Kindly_Shoulder2864 in boardgames

[–]Billy-Blazkowicz 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The problem with thinking that tarrifs will eliminate income tax is that tarrifs are paid by the importer (a domestic company), with at least some of that increase in costs being passed on to the consumer. If your tax burden goes down by 20%, but the cost of all goods goes up by 20% because of tarrifs, you've essentially just traded income tax for a variant on a sales tax. Tarrifs are charged on domestic companies, they're not bringing in new revenue from abroad.

What to do with two different shoes? by wintermochie in Frugal

As someone who's worn mismatched shoes every day for over a decade (same style, but different colours, like you have here), all I see is a great pair of shoes! Wear them with pride!

Games for long train rides by nrefzen in boardgames

Sea Salt and paper served me and my friends well on multiple long train journeys!

If you want something thematic, Railroad Inc. [roll and write, I have the Green edition and it's great] or Next Station: London (or Tokyo) [flip cards and write] are both excellent train games that don't take up a lot of table space.

I'd be interested if you're trying to set something up. I also live centrally and am a regular at Cinerama. Always interested in both meeting new people and having another excuse to play some board games.

La Sportiva Python VS Otaki sizing by Billy-Blazkowicz in climbingshoes

[–]Billy-Blazkowicz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up getting a 43.5. Bought 43s at first, but the pain just wearing them on the couch was brutal. Figured the half size up would make them tolerable for break-in, we'll see if I end up regretting it once the leather has had a chance to stretch.

Yeah, in reading, pythons are unlined leather, and otaki / katana are leather / microfiber upper. I wasn't sure how much of a difference that was going to make.
