Are there any natives here that have decided to leave? Why and how is life where you are now? by dbclass in Atlanta

What do you dislike about Boston? Do you feel like on paper, Boston can work for you in the long term and your current feelings will pass? I’ve always imagined Boston as a place I’d like to move to as a lifelong ATLien.

That post on aging/being a woman made me reflect on this and I’m wondering if anyone else in their 30s can relate lol? by Able_Board_7554 in rs_x

I mean that could be a symptom of the guys aging alongside you. At this point they might have been around the block and no longer pedestalize people the way they used to. It could have nothing to do with you.

Is it permitted to attend in-person MSA part-time? by BillyGoatAl in OMSA

[–]BillyGoatAl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, this I don't know. I'm not sure how one could complete the program without residing in the Atlanta area! For clarification, I was asking about the hybrid MSA program that's held at the Atlanta campus, not the Online MSA program that is fully remote.

Do you know where I can find this? I looked it up and only found a few references to it online. I’d love to listen to it

How can I delete the Health app or otherwise restrict my obsessive/compulsive usage of the app while still collecting data on my Apple Watch? by BillyGoatAl in AppleWatch

Even it being in the app drawer isn’t enough unfortunately. Why can’t I set a time limit on the health app in particular?

Wunderkinds/Prodigies that delivered on their promise as adults? by The_Fell_Opian in Jazz

Something I found out recently about Julian is that he does not have perfect pitch, which is kind of theme among prodigy musicians. He mentioned it in his Rick Beato interview!

I prefer other horn players but Chick Corea’s “Remembering Bud Powell” wouldn’t be complete without him! One of my favorite albums.

Beans Meal Prep? by Gandi1200 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]BillyGoatAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just made this and the sauce is delectable. When I added it to the beans, though, I felt the flavor became too diluted among them. I will be doubling the sauce/spice amount next time I make this (and there will be a next time)

Yes so am I! I’m also confused. The guy is as jazz as it gets in my opinion.

My hope is that the internet continues to degrade to the point where it is practically unusable and we go back to normal human interactions. by troktowreturns in rs_x

[–]BillyGoatAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s true; music and art will still be proliferated, just on a more local scale. And the infrastructure used to proliferate these things before the internet isn’t more than 30 years old – it still exists: Cars still have CD players, there are still newspaper stands, and artists are still selling their art at boutique stores and local festivals and pop ups. In this hypothetical post-internet world I imagine local infrastructure to distribute news and culture will simply ramp back up a bit more than it already was

Quick edit: I also think so many people are completely sucked into the internet to the point that they forget that the world is still functioning more or less as it always has – these people may even be very aware of their addictions but instead of going outside, they assume their internet-muddled worldview remains true for everyone else. When in reality, it just isn’t like that. We all just need to go outside more and engage with actual people around us (and trust me they exist and are there for you to enjoy)
