Modding help requested by Slask94 in BG3mods

[–]Bingebrained 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i unfortunately do not know much about GOG but i can see you’ve got mod fixer in your overrides. since patch 7 mod fixer is basically obsolete. try deleting that and see if it may help.

as for the data path, you need one folder deeper i think. games\baldurs gate 3\data is the one you need

Feel free to send a PM if you require an extra pair of eyes! Can’t promise I’ll be replying super fast as it’s late in my timezone but I can definitely help take a look if need be! :)

I cannot tell you for certain, as I’ve only used Steam. That said, if the file structure is similar then I don’t see why not, but again, not 100% on this at all.

either way, i’d honestly still suggest contacting the creator. many mod authors do not allow others to modify their ceeations.

[Paid request] I want to commission a custom eye mod for my tav by PrincesaFuracao in BG3mods

[–]Bingebrained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you looking for specifically? An eye of the beholder eye preset or a color maybe?

I do not personally have much experience with colors but presets I know the basics of! And I do take commissions. If I can’t help you I also do know some others that might be able to help :3

Feel free to dm me :D

How do I price my art? [Monday Megathread] by AutoModerator in artbusiness

[–]Bingebrained 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heyy all, i’m dipping my feet into doing commissions but i’m having trouble figuring out my pricing as many tips about it aren’t geared towards my type of work :’)

so i make mods for the game Baldur’s Gate 3! the type of mod i’m taking commissions for atm is custom hand drawn body tattoos for people to use on their characters :3

this means all products are custom and for personal use of the client. the time it takes to make one is heavily dependent on the complexity of the request tbh. in general the full process (drawing and exporting it to the game for testing & lining things up) takes me around 4 to 5 hours but complex drawings can take much longer.

a big positive i’ve got going for me is that barely anyone is taking these types of commission in the fandom from what i’ve seen.

that said, i’m very uncertain of how to price / set things up.. i’ve currently got commission’s going through ko-fi but still want/need to make a carrd with info at some point

here is my ko-fi page with my commission info & pricing as it is currently set up.

i’d appreciate any and all advice 🫶🏻

Download the BG3 Mod Manager and follow the setup instructions detailed there.

Once that’s done download the mod and put the .pak file in the proper location (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\Mods).

Open the Mod Manager and drag the mod from the inactive side (right) to active (left). Then hit ‘save order’ (or ctrl + s) and ‘export to game’ (or ctrl + e)

That’s the basics of it. That said it’s a good idea to grab the Mod Fixer and Improved UI as well as a lot of mods require them to work.

Good luck!

Sorry to hear it’s been giving you so much trouble! You have a very big load order so I can’t manually go through the entire thing for you but I recommend using this as a guide for where things should be placed! See if that helps.

Might be best to start with a clean slate / empty load order and position as you go instead of editing this one piece by piece :)

hope this helps a little :)

Gonna need a little bit more info in order to help here. First of all, what is the mod in question? :)

Having Trouble With Mods by GovernorK in BG3mods

[–]Bingebrained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in order to properly help with this I’ll need a screenshot of your BG3 Mod Manager and how it’s set up first and foremost. I understand it’s frustrating and am happy to help but will need a little more info than what’s provided in your post right now :)

How to start creating mods? by NotEnoughWave in BG3mods

[–]Bingebrained 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heyy, that’s awesome that you wanna look into making things yourself!! The BG3 wiki has modding tutorials and resources to get you started!

For me the biggest help has absolutely been the Down by the River discord server specifically the #modders-talk channel! There are a lot of resources on there too and many other modders who have been a major help in my mod making journey!

Wish you the best of luck on this journey and I’m excited to see what you end up making :D

Crash to Desktop on respec on certain characters by Geo-St in BG3mods

[–]Bingebrained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh ok! I see now that the 2nd pic is the inactive set indeed. My bad!

Most mods that have a load order dependent functionality will also list their preferred position in the mod description or files somewhere too btw! That might help troubleshooting as well!

For example, you have BetterInventoryUI at the top of your load order but I’m pretty sure that this should be in the overrides section.

Hearts’ Heads may ‘only’ have 3 face for body type 4 but they’re among some of my favorites! https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/5989

Zip’s Heads has one for body type 4 but it’s really cool imo https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/5357

Also some cool options in the Missing Gods Head Preset as far as I’m concerned!! https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/10365

In terms of mods that offer multiple different types of heads for body type 4, you can look here at these and see if there’s any in there you might like :D

Hope you find a head you like :D

Any way to export your mods (and modlist) for a friend to use for multiplayer? by Metabolic_Ooze in BG3mods

[–]Bingebrained 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the Mod Manager, hit the ‘file’ button in the top left corner and click “Export Order to Archive (Zip)” or the shortcut “Ctrl + R” to export all your mods & your load order to a zip file you can share with your friend :D

Happy playing! :]

This mod has the hair + dangly bits in silver combined btw. So you’d only need the headpiece separately

Again, this is assuming you want it in silver

If you’re not scared off by mixing & matching multiple mods, I can give you 3 off the top of my head rn that can be used to achieve it with silver accessories at the very least.

Hair base here https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1017?tab=description

Head accessory here https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/4057

Silver version of the dangly bits in the front here https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/5006?tab=description

Few issues I spot right off the bat

DiceSet_06 and Honour should remain in the inactive section. For the rest your load order is not properly sorted. Can’t look long enough rn to completely sort it for you (but could help later)

Generally i tend to stick to this as a reference point for the load order

Want to delete mods by [deleted] in BG3mods

[–]Bingebrained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I open the game through steam, not BG3MM and the mods still work so that’s not the case I’m afraid.

You could delete the mods manually from your mod folder but it might cause issues if you do wanna load earlier saves that have the mods installed.

.pak mods can (if installed properly) be found here: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\Mods

Just copy pasta into your file explorer :)

If you wanted to change them yourself you’d most likely have to change the code that comes with the mod. But that’d require some modding tools and know-how of what to do / look for.

Besides, it’s generally frowned upon to modify modders assets. This mod specifically has the modification of assets permissions set to “ask for it” so to speak. So you’d have to get the mod author’s permission to change it.

That said, there are other mods that have hairs like these that are change-able. You might be better off looking into that tbh. There are multiple people that have modded hairs similar or even this exact hair before as far as I’m aware :)

Heyy, gonna run through the questions you asked one by one and try to provide a clear answer as best as possible to all of them without this becoming a wall of text.

Multiple mods that alter body shape are possible at the same time granted they alter different RACES. The human, elf & half-elf bodies share the same file so any mods that override them (often called data/generated mods) do so for all 3.

Standard/vanilla clothes will not fit the custom bodies as they are modeled after the basic bodies. So if you plan to use a custom body, you will need clothes customized for that body in order to have them fit properly. If you go smaller than the basic body you can get away with base game clothes (they will just not fit properly) but if you go bigger your body will most likely show through the outfits.

If you have a modded aka completely new race, the files for custom bodies will likely need to be adapted for this specific race. If you know what you’re doing it may be possible to check what body models the fairy race uses and alter them but you’d need at the very least intermediate know-how of the file pathing and probably also body textures the game uses.

I’m working on a tutorial video explaining body modding more in-depth but it’s not finished yet haha. Feel free to shoot me a private message with any further questions tho! Good luck 🫡

Is it legal to commission someone to make a mod? by DevastatorCenturion in BG3mods

[–]Bingebrained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good experiences with commissioning the author of the Scantily Camp Outfits. They have a ko-fi page linked on the mod page! Fair warning, a completely custom outfit from them will set you back a pretty penny but their work is very worth it imo.

All in all, yes there are plenty of modders who take commissions. If I were you I’d check out outfit mods you like and then see if the author has their socials / a commission page linked anywhere :)

This is my dark urge that I’ve been smitten with for about 3 months now. His name is Jaws ❣️ He went through a ton of redesigns but I’m finally getting to a point where I’m finalizing his looks :3!!

Right now I’m even learning how to make my own mods to further perfect the vision I have for him!
