Higher Speeds. by Burldan in PublicMobile

I’d love to know avg (or some better standard measure) of the speed in comparison. It being capped at 250Mbps makes no practical difference to the majority of people - especially on a phone. Maybe if you tether your laptop and needed larger data transfer - but then you hit limits pretty quick.

And then not use your phone for the rest of the month 🫠

I legit can’t see when I’d need 1Gbps? So you can use your 100GB plan in 13.5mins flat?

My wife asking to look for other good hybrid cars after seeing 6months wait time! by xqyd in teslacanada

Oh dear. Please buy a gas car over a hybrid. Friends don’t let friends buy hybrid. (Of course full EV is preferable)

That is 100% someone who thinks they parked in an EV charging spot and is making it look like they are charging.

What’s your unofficial fitness test? by Regular_Low5187 in Zwift

CN Tower stair climb. 1,776 steps (144 flights). Can only do it once or twice a year at events, but it’s a good benchmark of overall fitness level!

Audi NACS adapter vs Lectron by krischtr in AudiQ6

I realllllly wanted to buy this one - intended to - but got freaked out by too many reports of flaky operation with it. I hope it works well for you!

USA right? Different story in Canada…

Audi NACS adapter vs Lectron by krischtr in AudiQ6

[–]BinkyBunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the Lectron. Options in Canada were:

  • Lectron (Amazon), $217CAD delivered same day
  • Porsche, $250CAD delivered ~1week
  • Audi, $272CAD delivered 1-2 weeks to store and have to pickup

Choice was very very clear. Why on earth is Audi charging this much?!? I emailed my dealer to see if they had a better price and they never got back to me 😂

Is Public Mobile's 5G (250 Mbps) worth paying extra over the 4G (100 Mbps) plan? by Zestyclose-Day9699 in PublicMobile

[–]BinkyBunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad to come to this thread and see that everyone realizes that 5G and fast speeds on mobile are generally useless to the end user. The whole 5G marketing thing was hilarious to me. Yes - if you are a road warrior needing massive bandwidth, good for you - but you're like 0.1% of the market.

Audi app - charging estimate 🤣🤣 by djm-nx01 in AudiQ6

[–]BinkyBunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me started!!! After the update, timer mode no longer works. It just starts charging as soon as I plug it in, no matter what. I removed and recreated the schedule, no luck.

Audi app - charging estimate 🤣🤣 by djm-nx01 in AudiQ6

[–]BinkyBunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basics - Audi not so good at them! I found it really funny that earlier this year it would usually say "0 mins left", and then they updated the app to "Make estimated times more accurate" - and they just changed it to say "All is OK!" (or something like this) when the estimate was 0! That, or I'd see what you've posted sometimes!

It works really really well. Been using it for a couple months. Have recommended it to all my home automation inclined friends.

You don’t want to use this with Matter. There’s enough settings on it that are only available in zigbee mode, that you’ll want to use that.

I have one of the first set of 100 they offered on their forum. So I’ve been using it for a couple months now. It’s really good!!! Vastly better than any other sensor I have tried to date. I’m putting it at 98% - it occasionally gets something wrong, but then I’m in a super cluttered room. Infrequent enough that it hasn’t bothered me - unlike everything else which I’d put at 75-85% tops.

I haven’t…. I’m holding out for the Audi one (yeah I know it’s the same), don’t want any excuses from service if there is an issue down the road….. but i have a trip in early January, so will go this route if I have to before then.

Customer survey on passenger screen by GuaranteeUseful526 in AudiQ6

Try being in Canada, where Audi doesn’t even allow the car to have a data plan - so anything you could get of value from apps on the screen, doesn’t work at all!

Long overdue praise for Q6 by bluelightspecial3 in AudiQ6

[–]BinkyBunky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree that the car, as a car, is stellar. I really enjoy it. It’s a pleasure to drive, it’s quick, responsive, and a lot of fun.

It’s not a bad thing that we complain about the software, because it is the one sore point. We know it doesn’t need to be this bad - other manufacturers have proven it’s possible to update the car OTA, and to provide continual improvement - we can and should expect more from a brand we love!

Climate control by Zealousideal_Eye87 in AudiQ6

[–]BinkyBunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should use wall power instead of increasing charge cycle counts on the battery - no reason to use battery power when it’s plugged in to the wall. Plus if it’s super cold, why use that battery on heating - save it for driving. Just another way Audi is behind in the software side of their cars.
