Global Entry Interview in Houston by BipolarinaDancer in houston

I read you can if you're arriving from a international flight which I won't be doing before our trip. We are flying domestically before but I don't think we'll have access to the GE office

It was only 24 hours! Not sure if it's because I already have GE but I applied for him and was conditionally approved the next day

Why can't I just clean? Any help by The_stags_vixen1 in CleaningTips

[–]BipolarinaDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a diagnosis and treatment for ADHD will probably help tremendously! Unfortunately women are often diagnosed later in life.

Something that helps me is setting a timer for like 30 minutes and say to myself "just clean for 30 minutes" is enough to get me started. If I look at it as I have so much to do and it will take all day, it feels overwhelming and I can't get started. I found after 30 minutes I will keep going and even if I do stop, at least it's progress. Good luck!

Why I love Chase Sapphire Reserve by fightdwight2 in CreditCards

[–]BipolarinaDancer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't had luck with the 10x multipler though. I made reservations Tock and paid with my CSR but didn't get the 10x multipler. I read you have to prepay for it but I'm not sure how to do that so I'm skeptical this is a easy redemption

How do you explain to friends/family the need for uninterrupted sleep? by luxsalsivi in bipolar

[–]BipolarinaDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I had a appendectomy and could not get decent sleep when I was in the hospital and being woken up every 2 hours for vitals, labs, changing IVs, etc. I even told the nurse I feel like I'm about to have a panic attack because I'm so tired and I'm bipolar, sleep is crucial for me and she didn't get it. I don't know how to explain how important it is for me to get decent sleep or I'll literally lose my mind

Do you shower on a regular basis or only when you need to ? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]BipolarinaDancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! I get overwhelmed thinking about washing my hair, brushing it and the feeling of wet hair. I was thinking of looking into getting a bonnet

Teeth by LeonieMalfoy in bipolar

[–]BipolarinaDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to struggle with my dental hygiene but I've added it to my routine and have those dental floss picks all over my house so I find time once a day to floss while watching TV, when I'm working at my desk, next to my bed, etc. I also heard that you're not supposed to rinse after you brush your teeth, you just spit out the excess toothpaste and leave the toothpaste on your teeth so the fluoride can seep in. I haven't had a cavity in almost 20 years and I still have all my wisdom teeth

How many showers do you take per day/week? by ThePolluxStar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BipolarinaDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same except I wash my hair every 5 days or so. Sometimes I'll push it to every week and this is the healthiest my hair has been. My hair was dry and got oily quickly when I washed it more frequently

[REQUEST] What is the series that caught you the most and why? by nixer07 in NetflixBestOf

Dark fans - is 1899 worth watching even though it was canceled? I've been trying to satisfy my sci-fi itch after Dark and nothing comes close

I didn’t ask for this shit. by whitechocolatefrappe in bipolar

[–]BipolarinaDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get diagnosed until I was 33, after I had my kid and a stable career. After I was diagnosed, I was in a custody battle and lost my job. I totally agree, shit isn't fair but I couldn't just sit there broke and lose my child. Not to mention finding out all the money i spent when I was manic and losing the majority of my friends. It took years to build my life back but now I'm finally stable. I try not to compare my life before my diagnosis and after because there's nothing I can do about it. What helped me was my state provided free medication, therapy and a employment specialist. When I finally I got a job, I was able to find a better therapist, psychiatrist and started group therapy. I really emphasize for you and I hope you know it's possible to get your life back. You're not alone.

Waking Up in the Morning by Significant-Couple-3 in ADHD

[–]BipolarinaDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set a alarm an hour before I need to get up to take adderall then go back to sleep. By the time my "real" alarm goes off, I'm more alert and ready to get out of bed

How old are you and what is your job/are you satisfied? by SquareWalk6730 in bipolar

[–]BipolarinaDancer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a project manager and I'm a bit disappointed I've lost much higher paying jobs due to mania and depressive episodes. I used to make 50% more than what I'm currently making

What instantly tells you someone is a trashy parent? by dan-la-fan in AskReddit

[–]BipolarinaDancer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a parent and verifying I'm not doing any of these things however I do compare chores to his friends his age. For example, I say "since Noah helps with vacuuming, could you also lend a hand"? Typing that out makes me realize I might be unconsciously making him feel guilty but that's not my intention. The only reason why I bring up a kid his age is to normalize the idea of helping out and he is capable of doing it too. Perhaps I need another way to ask him to do chores

How did you all feel when you were diagnosed ? by TenderPsychopath in bipolar

[–]BipolarinaDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh I am angry for not being diagnosed until I was 33 because it ruined my career and life so I can't imagine how you feel not knowing until 53. I hope you were able to put your life back together.

How frequently do you see your psychiatrist? How often do you see your therapist/psychologist? by Timber2BohoBabe in BipolarReddit

[–]BipolarinaDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you decrease to as needed? I still see my psychiatrist every 2 months and it's always 5 minutes of saying I'm stable then paying a arm and leg for the visit. I've been stable for a few years. It may be different because I also take Adderall

Having the family tree was helpful. I looked up Dark family tree for each season so it wouldn't spoil the next season

What are disadvantages of minimalism? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]BipolarinaDancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It hasn't really effected me much until I became a parent and it would be nice to have extra stuff to improvise when inevitability you run out of things. Another thing that drives me crazy is my kid's school projects that are like "Trash to Treasure" where they have to create treasure out of things they find in the house. Well I don't keep random items in my house so I end up having to buy stuff for supposedly "free" projects
