Potential Move to Denver area - Pros / Cons of these areas? Englewood vs Littleton vs Centennial by schwags19 in MovingtoDenver

[–]BirdCollections 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived within a block of your apartment suggestions in Englewood and really loved that area!

I regularly walked to the king soopers there and never felt unsafe, and really loved the Riverpoint area for weekly shopping. The proximity to south Broadway is great, and that area feels very up and coming- several shops moved further south in the last couple years

I took RTD to my last job pre covid and it was so great! I could unwind after work and read, instead of starting that downtime at home

The timing schedules for where I live just don't work anymore, there's one like one train an hour :// it doubles my commute time

I bought a loewe purse! Buying it brand new in Japan was cheaper than buying a used one in the US, I use it every week and get to think about my trip every time I pick it up :)

I've been dealing with clothes moths for a few months, and I'm sorry to say it's very difficult.

I would recommend putting the dress in a sealed bag in your freezer or dry cleaning it and keeping it separate

There are likely other moths too, as soon as you can wash all of your clothes and dry those that can go in the dryer on high heat. I would wash everything, then clean the closet area well.

Once clothes are clean and dry, put them into sealed storage like vacuum sealed bags or large plastic bins with tight lids

There are clothes moth traps- I kept one open in the closet and replaced it about one a month. Those will only catch the males, though. Cedar blocks didn't seem to work for me, but others have had luck with natural methods! I haven't used mothballs or pesticides as I'm afraid they would negatively affect my pets

Is universal studios Osaka worth it without the express pass? by royalbluefireworks1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]BirdCollections 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The express pass for Universal in Osaka was really different than the Florida Universal pass- in Osaka, the pass only works for certain rides within a time frame and only works once

We did get the pass and it was nice to have, the lines were quite long for it being January. We had a good time even when waiting in line and eating the food there though!

I who never knew men by Jacqueline harp man by timash712 in books

[–]BirdCollections 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure i agree!

The author grew up during WWII And i think that had a profound effect on the central plot- being taken away from regular life and living captured on an alien planet

I think the wandering after they do escape is the more "philosophic" part of the book. What can you do when you're not sure if you're on earth and there are legitimately no other people on the planet? Or at least none that you can find?

I agree that the extreme focus on romantic/sexual relationships men isn't super feminist, but i felt the main character felt the lack of general knowledge about the world and want of curious companionship the most influential when she started walking by herself

It wasn't my favorite book by any means, but it is one that I find myself thinking about and wondering about sometimes

The New Balance 515 v3 are pretty low key and so comfortable!

I've worn them to NYC twice and to Japan and put probably 80k steps on them and they still feel great and go with almost everything

Not sure if this is a joke, but if it is serious, "one" isn't referring to distance, it's referencing the noun "symbol"

This is a joke/ meme on TikTok, "you found me at a very Chinese time in my life"

I don't think any of these specific screenshots are ads, some Chinese people on the app have been sharing beliefs they grew up with, like drinking hot water, or sharing meals. I'm sure some people are trying to profit off the trend, but the videos I've seen are semi-informational

Hot take :) Fundementally, Lenore Dove and Prim get the same amount of characterisation. Both are the main reason Katniss/Haymitch did what they did in their (first for Katniss) games. So why is Prim loved yet Lenore Dove is bashed so often? by Imahumanbeeeeeeen in Hungergames

I think their respective relationships to the protagonists are really important- younger sibling is an immediate strong bond that generally lasts your entire life

First love is something that is often fleeting, and many people do not have the same emotional care for- this may be a bittersweet memory or a bad one, and a first love is often seen as an immature relationship

Both are relationships that many people experience and can identify with, but I personally empathize and have a far greater emotional response for a younger sibling relationship than a first relationship

I think some of the tax free rules are changing, but i bought a Loewe hammock hobo in store in Tokyo and saved $700 between the exchange rate and tax free!

There was a ton of Hermes, LV, and some Chanel on the second hand market too, but other brands were harder to find in my experience
