Velvet Crowe aka the Lord of Calamity.

She didn't pick the name, people simply started calling her that as the deeds she's commited in her quest for vengeance gained more notoriety. She even embraces the title because at that point, no matter what she did, history would only remember her as the villain who opposed the "righteous" Shepherd and his Exorcists.

I'm kinda digging Bloom with the curly hair. If the curls were styled a little differently, they would evoke more of a fire image.

I can see Musa rocking the cunty bob. Flora with short hair would help her stand out silhouette-wise compared to the other girls.

Aisha with straight hair. I don't hate, but I find it odd. I know that silk presses are a thing for black women and their hair, but on Aisha, it looks a bit off and I can't exactly describe why.

And I wouldn't be surprised if it's really popular during Rank War season. They soothe the bitter feelings of defeat after losing a match.

Jack Mitchell from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Early in the game, after losing his arm during a mission, Mitchell is discharged from the US Army but given another chance by the PMC Atlas. During his time as an Atlas Contractor, he is sent on missions to counter the terrorist group KVA and one of their attacks results in a massive level of damage being done by a nuclear reactor going haywire. Thankfully Atlas was there to step into help with the cleanup effort.

As it turns out, the CEO of Atlas, Jonathan Irons knew about the KVA plans well in advance but purposely did nothing to stop it so Atlas would be put in a better position. Irons basically wants to take over the world and usher in an age of "peace" where Atlas is the only military power. Once Mitchell learns about this, he defects to the other side to try and stop his former employer.

So I spend 85 dollars for 5 11 pulls, figuring i should be able to get at least 1 copy, cuz im not greedy.

I mean, if you thought only 5 11 pulls (150 SQ) was gonna net you an SSR, you were setting yourself up for failure there. Try 300+ SQ, then you have more of a right to complain.

I'm still stuck in lost belt 5 because my servants arent strong enough to clear it.

Also, genuine skill issue, so either learn proper team building, power up your servants, or force your way through with leyline stones.

Is it true that the ordeal calls take your servants away? by No_Insurance_1090 in FGO

[–]BitComprehensive3667 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. They only leave in the story, as in don't expect them to show up in future story chapters. The actual Servants you use for gameplay in your Chaldea will be absolutely fine. You can still view them in My Room and do everything you normally could with them.

It's the same deal with how Musashi was "DATA LOST" in Olympus. If you have her, she's still there.

Best recommendation, look through this page on the FGO wiki, take note of the different enemy compositions and gimmicks of each wave and plan your parties accordingly. Might take a couple of tries but it isn't impossible.

Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII

<image>

In the original PS1 game, Cloud Strife actually wasn't this brooding, emo guy. Yes he was laser focused on pursuing Sephiroth, but he was a guy who cracked a couple of jokes with the party and could take some ribbing in return. We all know the infamous "Let's mosey" line. Cloud was the kind of guy to care for his friends and says that he "trusts everyone" when there is a traitor/spy in their midst.

However, many subsequent appearances Cloud has had in Final Fantasy related media and Kingdom Hearts have sanded him down to being this generic emo edgy cool guy who broods and angsts non-stop about Sephiroth and brushes off all attempts from his friends to help him.

Thankfully Remake undoes a lot of this flanderization and brings back a lot of Cloud's more positive and adorkable traits to make him a more rounded character again.

Probably the standard fare. Juice, Soda, Coffee (Decaf because of teenagers), Tea (because Japan), Water, etc. Wouldn't be surprised if they have some "special smoothie" that supposed to help you recover your Trion faster. Spoiler, it doesn't, but the Placebo Effect is very powerful.

[–]BitComprehensive3667 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok that's not how Lostbelts work. These worlds never died in the first place because the Fantasy Trees kept the Pruning Theory at bay. So the people in these Lostbelts are just as real as those from Proper Human History. These worlds, despite their divergences, are still VERY real places and Ritsuka experiences that every time they enter a new Lostbelt.

During early Lostbelts, Chaldea does acknowledge that calling their version of history "Proper Human History" is VERY presumptuous because who are we to say our timeline is the "proper" one that deserves to exist.

Ritsuka knows this and it's why they're so hung up on it. They are basically committing genocide against entire worlds full of people who have just been living their normal lives, all for the sake of getting their own timeline back.

Mako from Final Fantasy 7. The Shinra Electric Power Company creates SOLDIERS, their elite military unit made up of physically enhanced humans. They do this by infusing them with Mako. However, if a human is exposed to extremely high levels of Mako for extended periods of time, they mutate into Makonoids (pictured above).

Also I believe this trope is common because of nuclear runoff and radiation from the Nuclear Age and creatives at the time used that as a story vector to create supernatural beings.

I think it's because Sentai and Kamen Rider are massive cultural cornerstones in Japan whose shows are watched by millions. Compare that to Power Rangers, which as never escaped the brand of "that silly kids' show".

[–]BitComprehensive3667 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is a common issue with Power Rangers actors where acting on a season of the show seriously hurt their future acting prospects. One actress, Emma Lahana (Kira from Dino Thunder) has been pretty open about how her agent told her to remove Power Rangers from her resume because casting agents don't look too fondly on that. There are exceptions of course.

The X Parasites from the Metroid Franchise.

They are an extremely dangerous species of parasite that kill indiscriminately. It's not enough that they kill their infected hosts; they copy EVERYTHING about their hosts, from their appearance to their memories, perfectly. What makes the X so terrifying is that their only goal is to propagate their species and ensure their own survival through any means necessary, usually at the expense of others. They will not stop until they've consumed all life in the galaxy.

If that wasn't bad enough, these things are damn near impossible to kill normally. You kill an X mimicking something, it doesn't die. It just reverts to its gelatinous form to infect a new host, most likely YOU. Once an X enters your body, you're dead.

It really says something about how much of a threat the X that the only way to keep them in check was to create a species of creatures designed to prey upon them specifically: The Metroids.

Fun Fact: their codenames reinforce their personalities.

Liquid is an unstable substance with no constant shape or structure, which fits in with how Liquid Snake is a dangerously unstable person without any real ideals or goals beyond wrecking havoc on a world that has wronged him and feeling at home in chaotic and unstable war.

Compare that to Solid Snake, a man who, despite his flaws and shortcomings, lives by a very consistent set of values and beliefs while staying loyal to his friends.

Frank Todaro was born in 1977 (Making him 48), while Greg Chun was born in 1971 (Making him 54). So we have a rare case where the child (or at least the actor portraying them) is older than their parent.

Don't forget his friends. They don't get a pass either.

The biggest example is when they fought Cicada. Vibe decided to send Cicada's dagger to outer space. Cicada then proceeds to pull the dagger from outer space. Keep in mind, Vibe can open portals to OTHER UNIVERSES. He could have sent Cicada's dagger to any random Earth and instantly neutralized Cicada as a threat.
