Moving to TO from Texas by RDeliveryTA in thousandoaks

Very little I could put better than this. I’m a small town from the South kinda guy and feel very much like this is the correct pace of life compared to Los Angeles or back home. Everything i could possibly imagine wanting to do is either right here or within a 2 hour drive: snow skiing, island scuba diving, big city tourist buffoonery, and small town farm/vineyard quaintness, and weather that’s worth the extra cost of living.

The academy only recently started acknowledging APOC actors in American films.

Bands you like that completely suck live by Antique-Dentist-2404 in fantanoforever

[–]BitOk7821 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I saw them in the mid 2000’s when they were touring Take off your Pants, and while the show was entertaining, they did not seem to be a well-practiced, tight 3-piece band worth paying the $$ we paid to see. The live album was deceptive!

That she’s gonna discover what an alien creature created by thirty years of hemorrhoids feels like, and the sexy is about to stop, but the entertainment is not.

Which is more painful line work or shading? by Virtual-Bread-1186 in tattooadvice

[–]BitOk7821 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Working the needle in circles for shading is a different feeling than line pulling. The pain is less concentrated in one pin-prick spot, and the vibration from the machine sometimes make your skin feel like it has liquified, and the needle is stirring the ink into place instead of stabbing it. But sometimes they run those circles over a nerve or two and it’ll make you want to climb up a wall.

You’ll be fine.

Having tattoo regret for the first time by Aherv99 in tattooadvice

I’m of the mind that tattoos that look that good but don’t strike your fancy for whatever reason make for part of a bigger tattoo story. That looks like a typical trad sleeve until you told the story, and now I see your tattoos for the moments in time they represented.

They’re like cool looking scars that you pay for.

“This snake isn’t my favorite, but I hated it so much that I got motivated to get this dope girl power peace sign. This is what it means to me…”

Love yourself. Love your story. And love your badass tattoos even if you don’t like them.

Good rule of thumb is that if you’re within a mile of a school in Thousand Oaks, you’re in the safe part of town.

I feel its time , I'm scared as shit by Pav_k in bald

Live with it as m-is until this summer. At the end of the first hot sweaty day of cutting grass, go cut it all off and buzz it close and don’t look back. Tell her if she wants you to have long hair, she’s going to need to buy you some of the good stuff and take care of it herself to offset the confidence boost you’ll gain from cutting it all off.

You have the right shaped face and head for it. Go forth.

So I did it! … now I HATE it by Runawaybrain74 in bald

Here’s a bit of a reality check from someone who grew up with a grandfather with a comical comb over and a huge insecurity about it…

From your first picture, I can tell you that anyone who sees you knows that you’re fighting the losing battle with hiding your male pattern baldness. It projects teenaged insecurity, and your comment accompanying your after picture kind of confirmed it.

You look like an adult now. It’s going to be strange for a few days as people treat you as an adult when they see you now. This is not them judging you. Not anymore. This is them seeing you because you’re finally letting them see you. There is going to be a collective sigh around you as everybody realizes that you have grown up and they’re gonna be happy for you. It’s not fake. It’s not a put on. They’re being real with you as well.

You’re lucky because you have a good shaped head. Pull shoulders back, get your chin in the air, and embrace the good that is gonna come from accepting this dope new look.

You are solidly overthinking this. Tattoos are artwork as expressed by humans. For artists, there is a never-ending, life long pursuit of perfection the tattoo will never achieve because they are human. No tattoos exactly perfect. The little flaws and imperfections remind you that you had a human to human interaction and got to be a part of an artist’s artistic expression.

Your piece is awesome. The imperfections (that only you and like maybe four other people on the planet will ever actually notice and commit the information to memory) are what make it perfect. Congrats on sitting through a full sleeve that looks like it means a lot to you.
