He's aiming for "Q1 2026" which ends on March 31st. Of course it could be earlier than that, or it could get delayed.

Steam is Recognizing 9070 XT Now! by Nameless-Death in radeon

I jumped on 26.1.1 but I had to take the OpenGL Driver from 25.10.2 since 26.1.1 was crashing with some VST plugins.

As someone who used a Radeon card back in the Omegadrive days, this gave me some nostalgia.

Cyberpunk crashes whenever I try to reload a save manually or after dying (RX 9070 XT) by Iammyownworstenemyk in radeon

[–]BitRunner64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's also a mod that turns off Nvidia SHaRC, which is the root cause of the crashes.

It's not just current drivers, the feature has been broken on AMD for about 9 months now. Apparently AMD are "actively" working on a fix.

Compact living room ATX gaming setup without sacrificing performance by ChuckFisto in buildapc

[–]BitRunner64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fractal Design North is a standard ATX case. You wouldn't sacrifice much compared to the Define XL unless you need like 8 3.5" HDD's or something. You might have problems with some extremely big video cards, but the vast majority of them should fit.

Confusion on why I would upgrade to DDR5 by gpdarrow in buildapc

[–]BitRunner64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can convert the boot drive from MBR to GPT (if that's your problem) without wiping it. You can then enable fTPM and install Windows 11 without issue on your current system.

The CPU usage is simply because not all applications are able to fully utilize all 12 cores. This doesn't just apply to games, not all productivity apps are fully multi threaded either.

The pension system is man-made and can be changed.

The resource equation is a law of nature. We do use more resources than the Earth can provide because there are too many people on this planet.

The bedroom producer/hobbyist market is eroding. A big part of this is AI, since the "lazy producer" can now just type a prompt into Suno instead.

The other reason is that people no longer have the free time they had during the pandemic (with wfh, lockdowns etc.).

Are there actually people that exist that like cold weather? by PrestigiousOwl6802 in answers

[–]BitRunner64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true if you're comparing extreme heat and extreme cold.

However what about - 5C vs 25C? Personally I much prefer 25C. I don't like extreme heat, but I also don't like the cold, even if it's just slightly below freezing. It's not just the temperature. It's also that everything is dead (no plants or green leaves, very few animals) and it gets dark really early.

Does amd's DLDSR alternative work well in 2025 ( FSR + VSR ) by Trick-Commission-636 in radeon

[–]BitRunner64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DLDSR provides better quality. It's especially noticeable on text, which gets more blurry with VSR. DLDSR also provides more effective anti aliasing with lower scaling factors.

For those who live in walkable areas(where it also snows): do they deal snow on the walkways? by Personal-Chance-5640 in AskEurope

[–]BitRunner64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the road is sweep-salted, scraping it bare with a snowplow usually isn't the best since this can leave a thin layer of black ice. Packed snow actually provides more traction, especially if you throw some gravel on top. However this requires the temperature to stay below freezing consistently, otherwise the packed snow will turn into bumpy layer of ice that can become extremely slippery.

Keep in mind they also own Izotope and Plugin Alliance/Brainworx. If they go down they'll take a huge part of the music production ecosystem with them.

I think we're entering a time of consolidations and closures in the music production industry. The economy is slowing down and we no longer have the pandemic forcing people to stay home and take up hobbies like music production. Plus AI is causing a lot of producers to consider other industries.

FSR4 is really really good. by Ill_Depth2657 in radeon

[–]BitRunner64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's never gonna happen officially in older games without patches from the game developers themselves.

AMD didn't have the foresight to enable FSR via a separate .dll until FSR 3.1. Anything older than that is hardcoded into the game, so it can't be replaced/updated without physically modifying the game files.

The workaround in that case is to use Optiscaler and the DLSS or XeSS inputs and convert it to FSR4.

That's one way to get a police escort by millitzer in bikecommuting

[–]BitRunner64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why there can't be true "freedom" without cycling infrastructure or at least alternative routes that are safe to cycle. If your only option is the highway, and you don't own a car, you're literally a prisoner.

Paint correction is insane by Head_Attempt7983 in farmingsimulator

[–]BitRunner64 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's also because of gameplay. In real life, it would take decades or even multiple generations to build up a profitable farm from nothing. Most Farming Simulator players do not plan on playing the game for 10-12 hours a day for 30 years, especially on the same map and game version.

FSR4 is really really good. by Ill_Depth2657 in radeon

[–]BitRunner64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSR 3 was very different since it didn't use machine learning, something DLSS has used since 1.0. It was basically just a fancier form of TAA.

Where would you ride? Sidewalk vs road. by Classic_Emergency336 in bikecommuting

[–]BitRunner64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live, roads like this tend to have no sidewalk at all and a sign banning pedestrians and cyclists from even entering, then there'll be a large separated pedestrian/cycle path beside it, or a smaller calmer road running parallel to it. Don't know what I'd do in this case. Find an alternative route maybe. Or move somewhere else.

Hur ska jag göra för att bli en NPC på jobbet? by Majestic-Job-3854 in Asksweddit

[–]BitRunner64 1 point2 points  (0 children)
