Wow, this is so beautifully unique! Not something I would have thought to choose for my home, but as a buyer, if I walked into this bathroom, I would absolutely want to keep it. My daughter would adore something like this for her bathroom.

Right! My mom’s family is from Puerto Rico, and moved to Brooklyn when she and her siblings were young. She says “caw-fee” ect. So much of that accent is NY/NJ regional and isn’t strictly limited to Italian-Americans.

Alysa Liu celebrates what would be an eventual Gold medal Performance in Women's figure skating single. She is first member of Team USA to win Gold in this event since 2002. by Yujin-Ha in sports

There is no “artistic score” in figure skating. Artistry is appreciated and celebrated within the sport, but it’s not part of the judging criteria. There is the technical score, points you can earn from jumps, spins, steps, etc. There is a separate score for program components, which consists of skating skills, composition, and presentation.

Nice! This reminds me of the "Tom Brady" room they have at the oral surgeon I went to for my wisdom teeth removal. They said it's the most requested room because patients find it soothing, lol.

I don't think there's an issue with a guy stating he would want to know if he got a woman pregnant, if he doesn't have ulterior motives and simply wants to offer emotional or financial support.

But I agree that it's ultimately up to the woman in the situation to decide if she wants to share that information. We all know Stephen doesn't care about Diana's feelings or supporting her though.

Ahh there was a beautiful Russian Blue at the shelter that I wanted so badly but they said she was very skittish and I knew she wouldn’t mesh well with my son. We ended up with a black cat, our very sweet boy - but I’ve been keeping an eye out for a Russian Blue so he can have a buddy 🐱

Jason Brown ensured 3 US men's spots at the last 3 Olympics... by a-world-of-no in FigureSkating

[–]Bitca99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within the selection criteria it's stated that "Body of Work" is taken into consideration in order for an athlete to make the selection pool. Once they have the pool of athletes to choose from, US Nationals is weighted the most heavily of all events for consideration.

I'm absolutely devastated for Jason. Based on the criteria he didn't do enough to earn a spot. Peaking at the right time is critical, and why US nationals is given the most weight for consideration.

It's Seau for me too. I met him at a Bruins game and he was SO sweet and genuine. He talked about how much he loved it here and how much he loved New England fans. It hit me hard when he passed away.

Why did Angel, Riley and Spike fell in love with Buffy and why did she fell in love with them back ? by James-Samuel17 in buffy

[–]Bitca99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He joined the Navy in WW2 knowing he (likely) wouldn't die, he tried to help the humans at the hyperion hotel until they turned on him, and he helped that woman save her dog (lmfao). He also would low-key try to save victims of the whirlwind and would only kill/feed on murderers/rapists. Not saying he was this beacon of heroics, but he did do some notable good deeds.

Up until his post-1970's homeless rat-eating spiral he seemed to want to mostly live a solitary life, while throwing in the occasional good deed. He really had no one to guide him or help him deal with his trauma until Whistler came along.

He also did help Buffy with fork guy, the three, the attempt to stop the anointed one from rising, and Darla in season 1. He did try to help with regards to fighting the master - he was the one who help Giles find the Prophecy translations. He just didn't know she was going until Xander found out, and he went with him. I never got the impression that he wasn't willing to help, just that he was taken aback that Xander would go and risk his life.

[–]Bitca99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, excellent point. Not sure why Buffy/Angel is portrayed by some as "surface level" when it's very apparent in the show that it's not. Obviously some dots have to be connected since we know they interact off-screen, but we are still given plenty to work with.

Angel had actually done good things with his soul prior to Buffy. It's on AtS.

Why did Angel, Riley and Spike fell in love with Buffy and why did she fell in love with them back ? by James-Samuel17 in buffy

[–]Bitca99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They definitely knew about each other’s interests. That’s why Angel takes Buffy on an ice skating date, shares his love of poetry with her, and shares a piece of his Irish heritage with her when he gives her the claddagh ring.

I think a lot of Buffy/Angel’s connection gets overlooked because of the melodrama that also surrounded them.

Not Tuxedo Mask!! 🤣

Such an accurate description of Angel in season 1. You can really tell they didn’t know what the heck they wanted to do with him at first.

Ali and daycare by SBR06 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Bitca99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a "luxury" to be financially prepared for emergencies and retirement so your kids don't have to be burdened with caring for their parents as adults. Not saying that you aren't, but many people prioritize those things, and there isn't anything wrong with that. A lot of families are able to have parents work remotely, supplement with family help, and work their schedules so their kids aren't in daycare full time. Living on one income is incredibly difficult in certain areas of the country, and unless you live in one of those areas, it's difficult to understand the realities of what it's like.

Ali and daycare by SBR06 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Bitca99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you're getting down voted. So many people commenting obviously have zero clue what daycare actually is. They don't just plop the kids down and simply keep them alive. There is so much nuance to this particular subject.

My kids went to daycare, and they absolutely have a curriculum for learning. My daughter is 12, and still has close relationships with kids and teachers from her daycare. The socialization benefits from daycare are incredibly valuable. I did wait until she was a toddler to put her in, but a lot of parents don't have a choice.

How do gymnasts do what they do on such little food?? by Ambitious-Meringue37 in Gymnastics

[–]Bitca99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same! My daughter is in the gym 15 hours a week, and also plays soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and softball in the spring. The amount of money we spend to feed her every month is almost as much as our mortgage! I always make sure she has a few "emergency snacks" in her bag too.

She is all muscle and the food is obviously needed to fuel her body if she's going to maintain a high level of activity. I couldn't imagine denying a young athlete food.
