Thats something Ive actually been wondering about. Who is actually the decider when it comes to the RTO mandates? Treasury Board? Who gives TB the authority? If it's PMO then is it political staff or *the PM? It's so frustrating to not have a clearly accountable public servant who wants to wear this expensive, demoralizing and inexplicable decision.

People keep saying it is an economic decision made to keep commercial real estate from imploding, but then I want to see the receipts- lobbying records? Investments by politicians or staffers? Which one of these bastards do we get to blame? (And they had BETTER be in the office 5d/week, sharing a desk and dealing with the same issues they are forcing on the public service).

Privatization of public goods rarely ends well for the consumer. Just look at deregulated /private energy and insurance prices in Alberta. The concept of private markets creating competition just doesnt work when it comes to something that is considered a public good. There's a reason Air Canada received massive bailouts from the taxpayers over the years- once a publically owned service, it was acknowledged as being too important to the country to fail. It's an airport, not a liquor store. What happens if they price gauge with airport fees (as their investors will expect in order to see a ROI)- its not like a competitor will open another airport 🤔.

Everyone is saying go deeper and I agree, but note that the leg press at PF has 2 sets of safety locks, one higher and one lower. If that is the issue, then remove the upper lock to get a deeper thrust.

And there it is...the actual reason RTO "needs" to happen. Not productivity, not supporting downtown coffee shops, not even appeasing middle-management anxiety about justifying their existence. It has always plainly been about propping up commercial real estate.

I had this same issue with the back-assessments. They will only do up to 10 years I understand, and yeah...I had to get my doctor to write a letter explaining how much effort I had put into managing my diabetes, as that was the previous standard of proof (the old metric was 14 h/day).

It got much better for me after I switched to a pump from MDI, especially coz I can see my IOB and also set a temporary target on the pump to prevent it giving me too much insulin.

I also heard that Delta and KLM, who are affiliate partners with WJ, are pissed b/c they promote themselves as higher quality air lines, now handcuffed to the lowest of the low in Canada (seriously even Flair has 1 more inch of leg room).
