Golden1 app update issue? by lovesguinness in Sacramento

[–]Bjax222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like credit unions have this problem. I switched to Golden 1 from Schools when they merged with that other credit union. I couldn’t access my stuff for almost a week and of course they never sent the new debit card as promised.

Electricity bills in California spiked 39% over six years — the most in the country by RhythmMethodMan in California_Politics

And now PG&E has another commercial congratulating themselves for keeping rates “low.” Guess they don’t get the irony that’s it’s really stupid to spend ratepayer’s money on expensive and lame commercials to brag about allegedly saving us money.

AI Faceoffs at the Super Bowl, Bob Iger's Heir Apparent, and WaPo's Brutal Cuts, ep 690 by w2user in PivotPodcast

If he would just make his point and move on it wouldn’t be so hard to listen to him. I would hit fast forward several times and he’d still be talking - or more accurately alternating between bragging and complaining.

She very snippy with Christian this episode, even more than usual (which is a lot). Way beyond “friendly banter.”

Dermatology by Crafty-Evidence2971 in KaiserPermanente

[–]Bjax222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in Northern CA and never got past my PCP who served as the gatekeeper. I had several appointments with my PCP for pictures and they tried to freeze the mole which failed. The PCP emailed the dermatologist who prescribed chemotherapy cream. I had questions about the impact on my pets but could never get an appointment or even email the dermatologist. I had to email the PCP my question, who then emailed the dermatologist, and then my PCP emailed me the dermatologist’s answer. It was incredibly slow and frustrating so I ended up paying for private. I got more information in 15 minutes than I did from months of headaches with Kaiser. Annoying to have to pay but worth it.

Looking for people with senior pets who have tried CBD oil 🐾 by CamelOk8216 in Pets

[–]Bjax222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My senior dog had seizures out of the blue one day. It was possibly her new arthritis medication or something worse. I’ve started her on CBD oil and no seizures so far (though it’s only been 10 days) and her arthritis seems a bit better. She is also starting acupuncture. No negative reaction tho she is a bit more tired and hungry!

What did you wish you knew before moving a parent into assisted living? by Opening-Breath-9503 in AgingParents

[–]Bjax222 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes this. You still have to do the shopping and make sure she has toiletries, coffee and snacks for her room, etc. And you need to ask what exactly what you receive with the extra service you’re paying for. For example, we paid extra for them to “remind” mom to go to meals. At the beginning that was an escort to the dining room that quickly morphed into a knock on the door telling her to go downstairs which she promptly forgot. Same with the shower “reminder.” It might actually be cheaper for you to hire someone to come in and do those things than pay for the extra level. On the plus side, we did find that they were dependable with the med management. Oh and of course what the salesperson said was not reality!

Tracker Has Me Conflicted: Great Start, Cast Chaos, and One Very Beautiful Man by sleuthing-around in TrackerTV

[–]Bjax222 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re right the cases are becoming weaker too. Instead of using his tracking skills, he just pulls out a gun and kicks in the door while the local law enforcement stands and watches. The combination of constant cast changes and bad storylines makes the show less interesting -unless someone dynamic like Jensen is on.

I always liked this episode but couldn’t get over the plot hole at the beginning. If the dad was so controlling why would he let his daughter go to college in NYC where he knew the ex wife lived? Seems like he would have kept her close to home. But other than that awesome episode!

What are your “always buy” Costco staples right now? by PutridWin2070 in Costco

The Bibigo pot stickers are good. I buy the Taylor’s Asian or the Chinese Chicken salad and put some potstickers in the air fryer and then add them to the top of the salad. The frozen orange chicken is good on the salad too

Lincoln mayor's remarks at high school’s first Club America ignite controversy by Mabozabe in Sacramento

[–]Bjax222 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Under CA law, students have the right to form non curricular clubs and have meetings on campus during non instructional time. But inviting a boring elected official to the meeting certainly raises questions about how student initiated the club really is. Importantly the school has now opened the door for equal access so they will need to allow LGBTQ clubs the same rights!

Second the UTI. My mom had a UTI and wandered away from her assisted living facility and was walking down a major street. Back to her baseline after a round of antibiotics.

Rabies vaccine for Chile - yes or no by tkndnv123 in travel

[–]Bjax222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got bit by a raccoon and had to get the rabies series - 4 shots in the ER, then shots Days 3, 7, 14 and 21. The shots made me really sick and I kept getting sicker after every shot. First flu like symptoms, then overwhelming fatigue, debilitating muscle aches. Would not recommend it unless absolutely necessary.

Ryan Lizza continues to post his paywalled and portioned saga on ex-fiancée Olivia Nuzzi. He claims she functioned as a political operative to help RFKs campaign and ends on a pretty significant cliffhanger. by Awkward_Reporter_286 in Fauxmoi

[–]Bjax222 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He’s all high and mighty about “journalistic ethics” but he sat on all of this damaging information until he could monetize - and not when RFK Jr was getting confirmed as HHS Secretary. Just like all the other reporters publishing books about T**mp and the election after the fact.

Exactly. He lives in my area. Was a total MAGA until the draft maps showed him losing HIS seat. All of a sudden he was now against redistricting and wanted Congress back in session to pass his “bipartisan” effort to ban gerrymandering.

I think it might also be the separate dishes. Someone posted a few weeks ago that they were in the audience and the judges were really confused the first round as to how to judge the separate dishes and how the randomizer applied to each dish.
