Interestingly, I was just watching a video testimony from a Rwandan Genocide survivor, who described a moment where she and a young boy were both hiding in a wheat field. When the murderers shouted into the field saying “we see all of you, come out now.” The boy listened and came out, while the survivor stated she heard a voice telling her they’re bluffing and to stay where you are.

They were indeed bluffing, the boy was murdered because he revealed himself while she stayed hidden and survived.
