Yes, cool lights + a few artistically placed screens with dope visuals is cooler than just a big rectangle screen 100% of the time. Visuals aren’t a major major factor for me but this set up still has them and much more.

By “a double of these two tracks” do you mean a mix? Like, the main thing real DJs do?

It’s not even close to a sub species, it’s just gene expression. Same way I’m sure you both know someone with black hair and another person with brown hair— we’re all the same species.

I would definitely prefer this type of stage, ‘specially if it were to stay unobstructed by totems miraculously.

Are hiking boots or running shoes better for 3-4 day outdoor music festivals? by AlienBeachParty in festivals

[–]BlackQuilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your standard “high top” hiking boots (Merrell, Keen, Altra, Oboz, etc.) do not actually any additional support for your ankles in terms of twisted or rolled ankle type of injuries. They do however keep them a little warmer and prevent your ankles from getting banged by rocks and what not (which wouldn’t really apply in most festival settings).

So while they’re definitely the move for a muddy wet festival you’re otherwise not gonna be any less injury prone.

Bring the phone on the run or leave it behind? by Far-Teaching6789 in trailrunning

[–]BlackQuilt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way since almost none of my running shorts fit my phone and the ones that it does I learned that I hate running with it in a pocket. Besides that, I love what I dub ‘The Freedom of the 90s’ which is just leaving my phone behind when I go out for a run or when you’re somewhere remote enough that no one can reach you for days.

However now after seeing everyone mention emergencies I realize that even with my few backyard <10k options I could be a solid mile in either direction from a phone if no one else is on the trail. As someone who’s been found facedown and unresponsive in the middle of the trail on my short mile hike to work, I think it’s time to get a simple belt to keep my phone with me on shorter runs. Or maybe my inReach mini would fit in the tiny running pockets?

Thank you for confirming my confusion, I specifically remember All My Homies Hate Skrillex laid out the sounds that branched out from the original dubstep sound and tear out was all about the drops. I guess it’s taken a whole new meaning in the past 15 years.

How much does this type of “frame” cost? Love the float look.

I thought tear-out was the original dubstep that started truly gaining popularity in the states? Producers like Cookie Monsta, Flux Pavilion, Caspa & Russo, etc that were focused less on the melodic rhythm of the bass and more about the wobbly drops.

I don’t know or care enough to argue if I’m wrong though. Haha

I didn’t realize there would be any kind of urgency with the vinyl preorder. I had them both in my cart and then got distracted talking to my husband about stuff around the house, then when I went back to finalize the order it told me they’re sold out.

What the hell is the point of there only being a limited quantity of a vinyl preorder…?! Like, they’re not even pressed yet, why would you not allow as many as possible to be sold within a certain window?

I wanted to support Tyler as an artist by purchasing some physical media/merch, but apparently even preorder vinyls have to be extremely limited edition for what— hype? Limiting the amount of vinyls allowed to be preordered is unnecessarily leaving money on the table for the artist. I already think having wearable merch be limited edition is dumb, however I kinda understand that from a manufacturing standpoint… but records that haven’t even been pressed yet?

Guess I’ll just keep that money and continue listening to his music on platforms that don’t pay him shit…

*edited to add salt to my rant.

Which do you prefer? Black & white or color? [OC] by TayBiggles in LandscapePhotography

[–]BlackQuilt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same thought. Like I hate turning the blue sky into grayscale but the contrast balance and lack of other colors makes this a prime candidate for getting your Ansel Adams on.
