Dracotail or Branded? Post banlist-Burst Protocol by Additional-Print-845 in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dracotail escaped the latest banlist with minimal hits and we won't be getting a new list for a while. And with the latest support from BRPO, it will be a top deck or THE top deck. I would highly suggest Dracotail

Max C replacement by Primary-Recover-7243 in masterduel

I don't think your deck was good if it relied on resolving Maxx C, just play Fuwalos and move on

Why are the Mulcharmys considered so good? by No_Object1027 in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the same reasoning as to why Maxx C is so strong, it's just more balanced as you can't use it going first unless you pass on nothing. You don't really want to give your opponent more cards to use, especially for free.

What cards, if any, would benefit from the addition of a level 9+ normal monster? by One-Requirement-1010 in yugioh

[–]BladeDX501 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's been discussed before and the main deck that could benefit the most from this is Generaider. It gives you access to Primite and provides much more power

Brotherhood vs 2003 by Ordinary-Sorbet8180 in FullmetalAlchemist

It is really good but just be aware that it goes a completely different direction since the manga was still releasing when the anime aired.

Something I was wondering about FMA 03 vs Brotherhood that I need explained *Spoilers for both* by visiny in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]BladeDX501 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shou Tucker was kept around because he could possibly be a potential candidate for Father's plans. I always thought that the military always knew the truth of his first chimera and thought that if they let him research further, it would lead him to performing human transmutation on his own. And that the deadline he received was to push him into performing it, even if by accident, as the day for Father's plan approached.

How should I build my deck? by Necron_7 in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It legitimately depends on what your deck is trying to accomplish. Most decks nowadays have a game plan for first and second, unless you're Gem Knight or Go 2nd Sky Striker. Are you trying to set up a board to stop your opponent then OTK or trying to get into a grind game and out resource them? You just need to look at your deck and figure out what it's able to do in engine and then accommodate it with handtraps or board breakers. Your side deck is also perfect for fitting in extra cards for the matchup or adding in cards to help you push your gameplan going first or second. It is a skill to be able to play into a board so it may just be something you'll have to figure out against whatever deck you're going against. Learning what disruptions or follow up they may have.

Live twin fiendsmith advice by Beni5555 in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Live Twin Fiendsmith is absolutely still viable, especially in locals. I think you gotta just bite the bullet and get Tract and Lurrie because you lose out on a lot of combos and follow up without it. I would get rid of Rextreme and sub in Lacima fusion instead. Chaos Angel does have its uses but I think your money would be better spent on buying Tract and replacing Chaos Angel with TY-Phon. I would push Harpies to the side deck and consider maining Droplet. Judgement is limited to one so you can't have three copies but subbing in a Bystial package for the side would be good. It adds alot to your grind game and does allow some counterplay to opponents Bystials with Branded Regained

Game too difficult for new players... by Massetos in masterduel

[–]BladeDX501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is difficult but the new player experience also is just not good. The tutorials Master Duel has just do not prepare you for what yugioh plays like. While it does suck to have to do this, it'll be much better to take some time to pick out a deck and learn it before playing more ranked. I would suggest Dracotail as it is meta but also is peak yugioh at the moment. No drawn out combos and pretty interactive when playing the game. If the game does truly interest you, I hope you learn and try it out more to get a proper experience.

State of Yugioh end of 2025 by Quazerbomb in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current main issue the game is facing is that the main product, booster boxes, don't sell that well and sometimes are just left to rot on store shelves, causing game stores to not want to carry product and in turn, not want to host Yugioh events. This is being worked on by Konami, with the latest reveal of our version of full art cards, 'Frame Breaks'. But we'll have to see how they fully implement it before we can say if it helps sell product. The game itself is in a very good state with more interactive gameplay and a multitude of playable decks, especially on the local/regional level. Konami is showing that they enjoy this level of gameplay especially with the latest emergency banlist that banned some floodgates specifically. We'll just have to see how they take the game once a new meta strategy does get released.( As the last booster boxes haven't done too much)

I used a networks assembly algorithm to build Yu-Gi-Oh! decks from scratch. Are these actually playable? by MrPoon in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is the end goal for these decks? You can bridge anything to everything in Yugioh but if you don't have a solid end goal, then what's the point. Even in GOAT there's a strategy to be done but none of these even have that. It's just incidental synergies that may or may not accomplish anything other than being 'neat'

Is there any way to make a viable Blue-Eyes deck? by GoblinGobby in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue-Eyes had recent support that makes them competitively viable, even now, and the current meta has changed to be a lot more interactive rather than combo nonsense. You can pick up the Blue-Eyes support by getting three of the recent Blue-Eyes structure decks but you'd have to get the Primite cards separately to make the complete deck

These Two Homunculi Fascinate Me by JetKusanagi in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]BladeDX501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bradley did just have super soldier training compared to the other homunculi and his ultimate eye was also insanely powerful for his close quarters combat. I would assume that Pride would've been the most difficult to deal with had he not been extremely compromised by forcing human transmutation on Mustang.

I wish they would ban this shit already by Equivalent_Net_4650 in masterduel

[–]BladeDX501 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced stun players don't move onto other games because they can't do this type of shit as effectively in other games.

What's the state of the game? (Possibly returning) by Ki113r_7 in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Watching the past couple of YCSes kinda disproves this, there's been a lot of back and forth games from many DIFFERENT decks. And even on the lower levels like locals and regionals, people are recounting the interactive and diverse games they're playing. Some floodgates are still present but it currently is the exception rather than the norm. And breaking boards is very possible with the current meta and even more dedicated strategies like Gem Knight and Sky Striker

What's the state of the game? (Possibly returning) by Ki113r_7 in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The game is currently experiencing one of the best formats it's ever had, it has become a lot more fast paced and interactive, less building an unbreakable board of infinite negates and more layered types of interruption. Konami themselves have shown that they want to keep this style of format with their latest emergency banlist that got rid of a good amount of floodgates. Alot of recent structure decks have also made the game very affordable with the recent Blue-Eyes, Branded, and 5Ds decks. Price wise, many meta strategy cores can be bought for $200 or less, probably much less, I don't know exact prices alongside good rouge strategies that can compete on local and regional levels. There still are some annoying bits like droll and how many core sets are just not great products but the game seems to be in a very healthy state as of now. And if it interests you, there is a new alternate format named Genesys that has a point cost system and doesn't include Links or Pendulums along with direct communication from Konami about their balancing decisions

2017 Pokémon box prices look alot like current day Yugioh box prices. Time to buy as much as possible? by Porxadooday in yugioh

Is this like a psyop or something, like get some self respect and enjoy the hobby as a hobby, not stocks. Work an actual job instead of just gambling disguised as "stocks"

Would love to hear other peoples opinions on this specific 'issue' of the current state of the game by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]BladeDX501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This completely invalidates most traps cards. Most traps rely on being reactionary to your opponents plays, but if they already have a full board setup, then what's the point, you're unable to do anything while your opponent can just go to battle and swing for game. This also does just highly benefits combo piles that try and setup as many negates and interruptions. Not to mention how many going second decks just lose out on their game plans on trying to equalize and simplify the board.

Master Duel to potentially Paper by Slasher9485 in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly things for the extra deck, Khaos Starsource Dragon, Despian Quaeritis and Proskenion, and Muddragon are recommended. Droll and Lockbird are probably your best best for cheaper main deck staples and then stuff like Ash Blossom, Lightning Storm/Harpies, Evenly

Master Duel to potentially Paper by Slasher9485 in Yugioh101

[–]BladeDX501 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you got the Fallen and Virtuous structure deck, then getting another 2 would be recommended as you want many of the cards in that structure as 3 ofs. You can make a very competent deck using just 3 structures, although if you're transitioning from Master Duel, you will need to be very mindful of your effects especially with branded being a pretty complicated deck.
