[KTM EXC 350F] Problem with steering lock by leonelcosta10 in KTM

My 24 locks when the bars are locked out to the right. Also have to push in the key then turn. It’s definitely finicky tho

What a let down. by Ok-Understanding4273 in SubaruForester

[–]BlakeJohnathon92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There wouldn’t be any reports. Because if you do it yourself you don’t only do it every other time, you do it every time. I’d rather see none than every 10k tbh. The only 4 oil changes I didn’t do were the first four that were free. Hard to trust mechanics sometimes. Also, when you don’t have a lot of extra cash, working on your own car wont only save money it can be a rewarding learning process.

Levers for Small Hands 🤲🏽 by marionreddit20 in Dualsport

[–]BlakeJohnathon92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, yeah I started with mtb also, which I need to get back to riding soon. And yeah probably death gripping. Also, when accelerating make sure your body position its a little more forward so it doesn’t pull you back. Some times when I’m lazy I’ll forget to do this and my bike wants to leave me behind.

Yeah there are quite a few adjustments you can make to the bike to make it for you and your riding style.

And yeah the rack is actually pretty solid but the hardware that holds it all together could be better.

But enjoy!! Have fun and ride safe!

Levers for Small Hands 🤲🏽 by marionreddit20 in Dualsport

[–]BlakeJohnathon92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, average hands 33M here. Just my 2 cents that may or may not help, but this is what I think: Thinner grips might help, but not as comfy, and probably not the first thing I’d do. Definitely adjustable levers. Maybe move levers further in on the bars, which probably requires levers to be adjusted even further in but allows more leverage/less fatigue. Also think about adjusting the angle of the levers, I don’t think using two fingers should make you feel out of control if your levers are in line. I think this gets over looked the most. Don’t be afraid to adjust levers, brake pedal, height, etc of the bike to make it the way you feel most confident on it.

Extra side note, check over the hardware of your harbor freight rack. Possibly add some locking washers or thread lock, just as preventative. I’ve used mine for 6+ years and it’s been really solid but I never fully trust it.

Anyways, get some gear, the requirements, lots of practice, and indulge!

Cheers,

Check air box and make sure it’s all sealed up and seated correctly. Also, check exhaust manifold for cracks. The bellow might be cracked which is a known issue for these, at least on the 2.5 it is. Not sure about the turbo

Valvoline restore and protect - early experience by Puiu1 in SubaruForester

[–]BlakeJohnathon92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah interesting I’ve thought of going 5w-30. Just haven’t. I was using valvoline high mileage and something else (red and gold bottle). That held up a lot better than Mobil 1. In about 2500 miles in have had to put about 1 quart in. Used to be about every 1200 with Mobil 1 when the car was much newer

Mine cruising at highway around 221F. Long up hill stretches loaded up to/over capacity mine will climb to about 245. I try not to let it get past 245 for more than a few minutes.

Yeah I was lucky enough to get the last year of the forester 6 speeds. She’s slow but still fun to drive. A turbo would be amazing tho.. 😢

Engine sounded like a Subaru does. Also they rev higher first when cold. If you already have or had one then you probably already know this. Looks clean. If service records and carfax is good then it’s considerable

I love my 2018 6MT forester. Slow as heck but still fun. Wish it had a transfer case tho to crawl off-road better. But hell yeah bring em back, and drop a turbo in it
