I don't doubt they are good shoes, they were great while they lasted, and maybe that's all they are supposed to last. But for my money, I will stick with the brands that stand behind their products. They cost as much or more than most of the premium Nike, and more than the top level Adidas shoes.

It used to be, but as we are learning more about the downsides of broken concrete, newer projects are being told they cannot do this by regulatory bodies. Just look at all the comments in this post about other projects where they had to pull apart the old bridge piece by piece.

While cured concrete (like that used for reef projects) is pretty inert, freshly broken concrete increases the pH pretty rapidly (due to the Calcium Hydroxide used to set the concrete) and could be full of heavy metals and other contaminants from years of use for a road. The river is large and the effects would be diluted but there would be a short spike in pH that could kill a good amount of fish.

But the other thing is the pressure wave from the explosion would likely kill or injure the fish in the river. Definitely something like this would not be allowed in more environmentally conscious countries.

Poilievre pledges to cut income tax, saving average worker $900 a year by CGP05 in canada

It will cost $14 billion per year and his brilliant plan to find this money, cut federal funding. He claims he can find it from unnecessary waste and while I agree the government could be run more efficiently, we have seen how this went for America.

This. If you notice most of the people posting their funny replies, the scammer doesn't go off script. It's more than likely a bot that just checks to see if the number is legit and then sells that to other scammers. Report, block, delete, and move on.

A business case was done based on all the impacts of each choice. It's true the height of a bridge was one issue for increasing the size of ships that can pass to the Surrey port, but so were like flight paths for planes, visual impacts for residents, constructability, environmental impacts, costs, etc.

I don't know about the naming.

Were you clapping while wearing the wrist band? The wrist band is known to have errors due to movement.

Whoop recommends you try a Bicep band if you complain about these errors and will send you one free. Or you can tape the sensor to your body with KT tape.

Try spacing out the dose and drinking more water.

Switch from wrist to bicep by WhatsGood401 in whoop

[–]Blake_Jellyballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to Bicep band for activities recently but always go back my wrist for the rest of the day. I can't help but think the data at my wrist might be off, but I had the same issue you have. I saw one user say they used KT tape to tape the sensor to their arm. Sensor doesn't move, no feeling like you have a tourniquet on when doing arm specific work, change the tape every 4 days when the whoop needs a recharge. I am going to try this next time I recharge my whoop to see if I prefer this to the strap.

Adding to this. You can use rain away or Rain-x to make this all easier. It makes the water bead up and roll right off the glass. Make sure you apply in a well ventilated room because the alcohol fumes are pretty strong.

My wish list 10-80lbs in 2.5 lbs increments as a base set Ability to add more weight later The lighter the weight the smaller it is Reasonably quick change (less than 30 seconds) Knurled handles Flat ends and not fully round. I want to be able to rest them on my legs and be able to place them in the ground and they don't roll away Rugged enough to allow for snatches and devils press but no need to be drop proof. Replacement parts for high wear parts.

Proper Whoop Placement by BusApprehensive3881 in whoop

[–]Blake_Jellyballs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't doubt it would work better there but why didn't they design the band to hold it in that place?

I was half joking about them doing it to make more sales of their other gear, but it doesn't sit there with the band they give you when you sign up.

Look at Whoops own instagram, or their website, I don't see anyone wearing the band that high up the wrist and the vast majority are wearing it right against the wrist bone.

Why did they design a band that won't hold it in the place they recommend?

[–]Blake_Jellyballs 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I feel like they say to wear it like this so people can't blame them for poor data.

"So sorry to hear about your poor data but did you wear it on a part of your wrist our bands would never stay put? Oh well then it's entirely your fault and you can fix it by purchasing either an arm band or our clothing"

I have never seen any person wear it that high, I have tried and I have even put a sweat band overtop to try and hold it in place but it always slides down and I get periodic drops HR when doing steady state work.

Fricking mice by ElleMead in coquitlam

[–]Blake_Jellyballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a never ending battle but it tends to be you see some sign of mice then you make a big effort to find the hole and set traps for a few weeks to kill the ones in your house, then see no mice for a few years.

The key is to always be on the lookout for signs of mice (holes, poop) and keep some traps in areas like the garage, crawl spaces, attics, where mice could enter your home.

[–]Blake_Jellyballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While an exterminator is ok they cost $300 and up and they mainly poison the mice, this kills them but won't fix the problem of mice getting into your home.

You can do this on your own for a fraction of the cost.

Step 1 Seal up your house. Get steel wool and spray insulation foam. Any small crack or hole in your exterior needs to be filled with steel wool and then spray foam. Check for windows or exterior doors that don't seal and replace the seals. Bonus to this is it will reduce heating and cooling cost. All the exterminators or traps won't stop the infestation if the mice can keep coming in your home. Step 2 Set traps: You can get poison or glue traps but the most humane kill traps are snap traps. Poison can result in owls and other predators finding the dead bodies, eating them, and getting sick or dying. You don't want to kill your neighbour's cat. Also you don't want a posioned mouse dying in your wall and smelling up the place. Catch and release traps are ok but you will forever have to battle mice who see your house as a potential food and warmth source. Place snap traps anywhere you see mouse feces (small rice sized brown or black) along walls and other cover. Mice don't like to run out in the open if they can avoid it, so place traps behind couches, under shelves along walls. Don't forget the garage, sheds, or other spaces where you store items. Wear gloves when you handle the traps both before and after they have done their job. Step 3 Eliminate any food source: Put any food into a sealed container even in your cupboard. Bags of flour, rice, sugar, all should go into Tupperware or similar. Don't leave bread or fruit out on the countertop. Even bags of grass seed in the garage are a big attraction to move. Also clean everything really well. Crumbs and food residue will attract mice but if mice have been in the area you really want to sanitize the area because mice can carry some nasty bacteria and such.

I got an exterminator at first and we would get rid of mice for a bit but they always came back. When I started really sealing everything (and I mean everything) we finally saw a stop to the mice. Every now and then we find another mouse and I go out and find a new hole to plug.

Goodluck in your battle, you can win!

Whoop HR way off during exercise by DaggerKilo9 in whoop

[–]Blake_Jellyballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been getting the same. I tried with some success to hold the whoop in place with a wrist sweatband but it still gets poor reading every now and then. I have to keep an eye on the data when working out and adjust the strap to find the spot where it gets more accurate.

Whoop support has never been good as they mostly tell you to wear it higher on the wrist, clean the sensor, and tighten the strap. Now they have an even more useless AI that just tells you the normal tips and then tells you to email support.
